Fuel Injector problems of the 2005 Ford F-350

Five problems related to fuel injector have been reported for the 2005 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Fuel Injector problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2011

The inter liner of the fuel tank disintegrated causing the fuel to contaminate the fuel injectors and the fuel pump. The local Ford dealer recommended that the fuel tank, the fuel pump and all the fuel injectors be replaced. Total cost between $5000 and $6000 dollars. Gave the approval on may 3rd 2011. As of July 5th still waiting on the new fuel tank. Ford has had so many of these fuel tanks fail that there is a national waiting list for the replacement tanks. Adding insult to injury, this is a work truck. Everyday it's unavailable cost the company $100. 00 to $150. 00 a day. Add that into the repair and now it's costing us 10k to 12k. At this time, we still have no answer from our Ford dealer as to when we can expect the new tank. At the very least, I think Ford should be responsible for the repair.

2 Fuel Injector problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2011

My 2005 f350 has a fuel failure and when I took it to the dealer they said that 5 injectors had failed and I needed they blame it on biofuel, I have only used on road diesel and I have owned this truck since it had 25,000 miles on it. At this point it is $6000 to repair and of course there is no warranty on it. This is a major concern because this truck carries extreme loads at high speeds and a fuel failure at 65 or 70 will cause you to lose power steering and braking ability. When you are carrying a backhoe and have a trailer that weighs 6000lbs the total weight of the whole rig is right at 35,000 pounds. That is enough to take out at least 6 or 7 cars that have stopped in front of you. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

3 Fuel Injector problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2011

The contact owns a 2005 Ford 350 super duty. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle suddenly decelerated and stalled. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road and restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technicians replaced the fuel module. After the repairs were made, the vehicle stalled a second time. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the technicians stated the fuel injector needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The manufacturer was contacted and stated there was a recall 05v266000 (fuel system, gasoline: delivery: hoses, lines/piping, and fittings) but the VIN was not included. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.

4 Fuel Injector problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2009

- the contact owns a 2005 Ford F-350. While driving at 25-30 mph the vehicle lost power. The contact had the vehicle towed to the dealership and the dealership remedied the issue by replacing the high pressure cup link on the injector activation system. The contact found numerous complaints online about the fuel system on this year make and model vehicle. The contact feels this was a major safety issue because the vehicle could crash into another vehicle if all the power is lost. The current mileage was 112,000 and failure 99,000.

5 Fuel Injector problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2005

The contact stated the vehicle stalled intermittently. The first time the vehicle stalled it immediately restarted. The second time the vehicle stalled it was towed to the dealership. During both incidents the vehicle was traveling at 70 mph. The dealership replaced the fuel system injectors and modules. After the replacements the engine blew out. Additionally, the dealer diagnosed a problem with the transmission at 8,000 miles, and repairs were made. Based on all the problems with this vehicle, it has been at the dealership for three months.
