One problem related to power train has been reported for the 2006 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
This year along with other years have a problem with the egr valve and turbo. I understand that there was a deal where Ford had to repair emergency vehicles with this same problem but not a normal everyday consumer. There are many complaints regarding this engine blowing head gaskets and egr valve issues which makes the truck suddenly have lose of power when driving along with other issues as smoking and engine lights going on. As you can read on line everyone that has had this problem is really frustrated and Ford will not stand behind this engine. The diesel truck should not have this problem at 79000 miles. This is why we have purchased this vehicle. I would think a decision had been made to put this engine in trucks knowing that there was an issue would stand behind it. I guess not enough people have been killed yet or seriously hurt. Just because Ford will not be reimbursed for the repairs they will not stand behind this problem after the warranty runs out. Which it has with us. I feel that something should be done. We have pulled a 15,000 lbs boat behind this truck and it could suddenly lost power and could have killed someone. Has my husband was driving it on a busy highway it suddenly lost power and starting smoking. Someone could have been seriously hurt but I guess because no one was and no one has been killed because of this problem no one will pay to repair. It is sad that our tax dollars help dig this car makers out of debt but they won't stand behind their workmanship. Why doesn't the safety board make Ford repair this issue. Many people are really frustrated and would like Ford to repair. It is not the consumers fault there was a bad engine. 2006 is not the only year. This is a large safety issue when you are driving and suddenly lose power on your vehicle at least I would think so.
