36 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2008

Traveling @55 mph, when I ran over a small pot hole. My truck shook violently and was extremely difficult to control and stay in the lane of traffic and slow down to a speed wherein I could bring my vehicle under control ( 35 mph). Visual inspection showed no anomalies. My tires did not appear to be damaged as if I had run over an object. There were no objects in the highway. Approximately 60 minutes later, after I finished my errand and was returning home, another incident occurred. This as more violent erratic front end jumping and I had to move to two lanes to stop my vehicle. Again, inspection showed nothing out of the ordinary. I then proceeded directly to my Ford dealership where I spoke with a service person. I requested that my vehicle be placed on a lift to get a complete inspection. The manager refused to do this stating that this was a continental tire problem because of "stiff sidewalls"and that I should return in a few days for an inspection at that time and they would place a "steering damper" on my truck ( of which I might be financially responsible" and that may or may not correct the problem. I feel this is an extremely dangerous situation, one in which I am very fortunate not be hurt, my vehicle damaged, or someone else injured. My dealership is pooh-poohing it as if it is nothing.

The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-350. The contact stated that the suspension was unstable and would shake while the vehicle was being driven around a curve or at various speeds sporadically. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the dealer replaced the power steering hoses and the steering stabilizer however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that a caster adjustment would need to be performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but declined to provide the contact a remedy to repair the vehicle. The failure mileage was 20,000.

38 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2008

My vehicle has suspension oscillations that can lead to an accident, Ford has tried 7 times to fix it and now tells me that they can't fix it and it is a normal characteristic of the truck after 35+ days out of service. These oscillations could lead to loss of control and a crash. This truck is a danger to me and my family. It is a 2006 f350. It has had said oscillations since new, and they seem to be getting worse, and I am concerned for my safety. There are daily incidents of this oscillation/bouncing while driving, and Ford now tells me they wont work on the problem any more.

39 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2008

Front end of truck wobbles-shakes out of control when going over explanation joint on overpass. Does not stop wobble until vehicle is slowed down to about 30mph. Fear of getting rear-ended.

40 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2008

When traveling down the freeway a bridge deck or pot hole will cause my 06 F-350 to shimmy uncontrollably. This has happened about a dozen times. I have to come to a complete stop to get the truck to stop shaking. Ford says there isn't anything wrong with the truck.

41 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2007

The front end of my 2006 F-350 will shake when going over a bump at speeds of +65 mph. It is almost uncontrollable. I have taken it to Ford and they say there isn't anything wrong, this has happened 6 times. I have checked numerous web-sites and there are at least 500 other complaints on this subject. It is a danger to me and all the other motorists around me.

42 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2006

This vehicle since new has had numerous incidents with a severe uncontrollable shimmy in front end and steering wheel. I have had it to the dealer numerous times and they tell me there is nothing wrong with it. Ford has sent a few notifications stateing that they are aware of the problem, but that it is just caused from improper inflation. I have set the tires to manufacturers recommended psi weekly, and does'nt make a bit of difference. Ford is closing their eyes on this one,and it is going to cost lives!!!. When this occurs you have absolutely no control of the vehicle. Another problem with this vehicle is the engine is junk. My vehicle has 43000 miles currently, and has had the motor taken out of it twice already for repairs!!!,and has been to dealer at least 6 or 7 times. I own a small tree care company and really cant afford a $45000 mistake to a multi billion dollar company.
