1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2026

Vehicle produced symptoms over time: loss of Ford pass connectivity, inconsistent turn signal function, occasional dashboard alarm for open driver door while driving, unwarranted security alarm triggers when still at home. Second to last incident was an unwarranted security alarm that triggered, and was unable to be stopped by use of the security controls (lock/unlock, alarm key button). Horn "wore out" as if fuse burned. Disconnected battery to stop. Two days later, after reconnecting the battery I drove the vehicle, horn was not functional, and I was unable to stop the engine. Once started, the vehicle did not turn off, even with key completely removed from ignition switch. This was repeatable, every ignition cycle, thereafter. I drove to the dealer, that morning. The dealer mechanic was required to shut off the engine. Dealer mechanic diagnosed failed battery junction box. After repair, mechanic diagnosed faulty body control module. Dealer mechanic also recommended replacement of full "main" wiring harness, interconnecting the two. The cause for all failures was corrosion and electrical shorts due to water ingress. I am aware Ford has issued numerous tsbs and recalls for faulty bcms, in the same age range as this vehicle. Also, tsbs for water intrusion into the bcm. The mechanic took photos of corrosion on both the bcm and main wiring harness. My prior vehicle was a 2011 Ford f-150, with the same 6. 2l engine. No such faults were experienced up to Nov. 2023 sale. Photos of the corrosion on main wiring harness and bcm attached. Dealer has possession of the vehicle. Repairs in progress. Ford has declined support for faulty components; recalls not associated with this vehicle. Estimated repairs to date on 6 year old vehicle on critical electronics in excess of $7,000.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/16/2025

Our 2020 Ford F-350 experienced a catastrophic mechanical failure while in motion. The driveline disconnected, the rear axle locked up, and the transmission bellhousing was destroyed—leaving the truck completely immobile and blocking traffic. This occurred with no prior warning and posed a significant crash risk. At the time, Ford safety recall 22s22 (related to a known defect in the transmission’s output planetary four assembly) was open and had not yet been completed. The symptoms and failure we experienced match the failure scenario described in Ford's own bulletin for 22s22: driveline separation, internal transmission damage, and loss of control or park function. Ford has denied coverage, stating the failure was due to a "loose pinion flange nut" and unrelated to the recall. However, they have not provided any inspection documentation, photos, or evidence that the recalled components were properly inspected or ruled out as the root cause. We have repeatedly requested this documentation from both Ford and the dealership, but neither has provided it. We are concerned that the failure was caused by the exact defect identified in recall 22s22, and that Ford is failing to take responsibility or follow full recall procedures—including post-failure inspection and transparency. We are requesting that NHTSA investigate this case as a potential mishandling of a known safety defect and failure to comply with recall responsibilities.

The rear back up camera of my 2020 Ford f350 superduty has not been working for several months, then in may of 2025, I found the recall notice about this issue and Ford has said that my vehicle isn't part of the rear back up camera recall, even though it has the same exact problem of the other vehicles involved in the recall. My vehicle was built in October of 2020 which falls into the same time frame of the other vehicle models and build dates. Will Ford be held accountable if I happen to back up and hit someone or damage something? my vehicle along with probably many other vehicles need to be added to this recall.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2025

Computer-dash info screens and drive modes. I am unable to change or check onboard dash info upon starting vehicle. Dash does not hold settings one day to the next. Unable to get into or change settings such as trailer settings-so can’t change braking effort-dangerous when hauling 20,000# trailer! cannot put truck in tow mode or any other mode-defaults to slippery road mode. Again dangerous. Says hill start assist, hill descent assist and pre-collision assist is unavailable . This is all very potentially dangerous especially when hauling! dealer cannot find problem. After truck is driven a while settings can be re-entered-truck has to be turned off first. Unable to load video of start up.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2023

The tailgate with no apparent reason or indication all of a sudden failed to latch. The latches on both sides of the tailgate would no longer engage the pin that holds the tail gate in place. There is no way to secure cargo or equipment is side the cargo bed as the tailgate will not hold the tailgate up and keep secured and closed. It appears that Ford will not cover the electronic tailgate door latches but just the electrical components that control the electronic release. The latching mechanism should also be replaced along with the electronic wiring. This is a safety concern because if I carrying any type of cargo. The cargo may leave the truck bed. In addition, if pulling a trailer or RV in which in my case. I have a RV trailer (5th wheel) . The tailgate may open while towing and cause damage to the truck and RV. I just so happened was towing my RV 5th wheel just prior to and before my initial experience in early January of 2023. I dropped the RV to it's intended spot/location, and attempted to close the tailgate. Then, discovered the tailgate would not secure closed to the tailgate latches. There is no way to adjust or self-fix or correct the. There is no other damage to the tailgate other than the tailgate latches failing to engage and secure the tailgate in its closed upright . Position.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2022

Door locks. The electric door locks have stopped working on both front doors. I had the drivers repaired under warranty, and now the passenger door I paid for - about $300. This is a major safety concern especially for a 2020 that cost over $80k. If I forget to manually lock the door, someone can could get in my car without me knowing. I also can't lock the door in the event someone is approaching me. I know prior years were recalled, please add my2020.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2022

Twice today I had the truck explode into a death wobble, the first one was so severe on highway 255 outside st louis that I had to do an emergency stop pulling of to the side of the road, the death wobble would not stop till I came to a complete stop. It was so volatile I thought I lost a tire and rim completely off the vehicle. The second was as near violent and didn't cease till I was down to 15 miles per hour. I will be contacting a Ford dealership tomorrow as today is a Sunday.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2022

I am a single mother . I have called paris Ford in TX numerous times regarding recall on wind shield. The time I took to them to fix the windshield I was told the manager looked at my windshield and said it didn't need replacement. I found out it shows incomplete. Now I have been calling them to schedule this and they have to out source which can take 3 day's or more. This is my only vehicle at which I need for work, my son etc. They are telling me they have no loaner vehicle's. The last time I called I was told that do to they are waiting on part's for their loaners. I have been dealing with this now over a year. On top of now I have a chunk out because of a stone driving on hwy. I am not fixing this because I do have coverage for that only to have it show as a mark on my insurance. I also feel they should have a loaner by now.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2022

Transmission unrepaired recall has not been completed or mentioned by manufacturer or dealer. I had to replace transmission ones and fix it again. After last fix transmission fluid is still leaking.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2022

My tailgate has opened on its own three times or more since purchasing the truck new in June 2021. Few times while parked and locked in my drive way. Once while I was driving causing me to have to pull over on a busy highway to re-latch the tailgate to not lose my cargo in the bed which then could have came flying out and hit other motorists and/or caused an accident in which I would have been liable. I was not included in the recall 19v-864; and therefore my vehicle has not been serviced for this issue.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/23/2021

The Ford is under a customer satisfaction program 21b03, and Ford will not honor this for our vehicle, however our truck has the number one planetary and ring gear assembly that has gone out.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2020

Sudden surging at slow speeds. When trying to idle through an area that is tight, crowded etc. Rpm's will rise to 1,200 or slightly higher.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2020

I purchased this truck on 09/23/20. At delivery the steering wheel was not aligned correctly and had to be adjusted. Truck has had a constant vibration that is felt thru the steering and body. The vibration increases with speed. At 1031 miles a repair attempt was made that was unsuccessful, at 3225 miles again a failed attempt was made at correcting, at 3735 another filed attempt. At 8156 another failed attempt. And again at 8934 another more extensive repair attempt was made with no positive results. I will upload all repair work orders. There is a serious problem in the drivetrain of the vehicle that Ford as of yet has been unable to correct. The vibration is constant and at highway speed has made people car sick. I am fearful that there is a failing component in the truck that when it finally breaks will cause a serious accident. They have used a vcmm vibration analizer that listed a host of potential problems and in their words the results were misleading. This is a heavy duty truck that I fear towing my trailers with because they can't tell me why it has the vibration. I almost believe that they know the problem and won't disclose it to me. The most concerning statement made in the repair attempt is that they compared my truck to an instock unit and it drive comparable.
