The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the roof rack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where the failure was replicated. The vehicle was not repaired due to the VIN not being included in NHTSA campaign: 25v729000 (visibility). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
