Two problems related to diesel engine have been reported for the 2006 Ford F-550. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
2006 Ford f550. Consumer states problem with turbo chargers and fuel tank liners the consumer stated the turbo was replaced twice and the fuel tank was replaced once. The fuel tank lining broke down and clogged the fuel filters as well as the fuel injectors. Ford informed the consumer, the problem with the fuel tank was due to the additives in the northeast diesel fuel.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford f550 super duty dump truck. While driving between 35 and 40 mph the vehicle stalled in the middle of the road. None of the warning lights illuminated before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but they could not duplicate the failure. The failure occurred four times. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The warranty was valid and each time the dealer notified the manufacturer for assistance to help with the repairs but they were unable to duplicate the failure.
