While driving down the road a passerby got our drivers attention to tell them the truck was on fire. When he pulled over and got out the truck went up in flames fast from under the hood. Due to the heavy damage we are unsure where the fire started. It has not been inspected by anyone yet. It was towed to our shop. The driver reported there was an odd smell but that was it.

My F-550 super duty diesel dump truck lost power on the highway because of a known fuel injector pump defect. The pump exploded into metal pieces that clogged all fuel lines leading to a loss of power on a highway putting everybody at risk of a collision. This fuel injector problem is known to Ford and is subject to class action lawsuits. The dealer confirms that this is the problem. Apparently for the last decade, this pump has been known to fail because it was designed for european diesel not american diesel which because of the low sulfur content makes the pump cavitate because of lack of lubrication and explode. There was no indication of failure prior to the incident.

There was a recall on this veh. Over a year ago and they still do not have the parts to repair it. My fuel milage went from 13. 8 down to 9. 6 and still going down. I have called Ford about this and they say they are still waiting on parts. I reminded them it has been over a year now and should have had the parts in a long time ago.

Attempting registration renewal on 01/30/2025, and dmv has rejected, but cashed our check for registration renewal. Upon research of Ford recall available to remedy, the software is not available to remedy since January 1st, 2025. How do we handle not being able to remedy Ford manufacturer recall #22e04 ? please advise at your earliest opportunity? how to complete dmv registration when serious remedy is not available and registration has been expired since 03/31/25. We have sent carb registration, copies of all recall notices received not able to remedy and dmv continues no reject renewal until recall can be completed.

Incident details: •recall service date: ] •mileage at service: 63,993 •incident mileage: ~64,030 miles •description: post-recall, multiple warning lights activated, including powertrain malfunction and traction control off. The vehicle stalled, became unresponsive, and veered off the road. After multiple attempts coming after multiple attempts to call the dealership and corporate with no answer, forced to leave a bad survey and then someone contacted follow-up actions: the dealership attributed the issue to a missing 10-amp fuse. However, prior warnings from the Fordpass app indicated powertrain malfunctions since October 2024. A subsequent recall notice (24s78/24v957) in January 2025 highlighted potential high-pressure fuel pump issues leading to power loss. After multiple attempts coming after multiple attempts to call the dealership and corporate with no answer was forced to leave a bad survey and then someone they’ve let me leave the dealership twice now saying that there was nothing wrong with my truck and then to find out that there’s a recall a couple weeks later safety concerns: the unexpected power loss and control failure pose significant safety risks. The recurrence of issues post-recall raises concerns about the effectiveness of the initial repair and overall vehicle safety. Requested action: I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter to ensure driver safety and hold the manufacturer accountable for providing a reliable remedy.

A clogged fuel filter caused an engine fire. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the failure. The fuel filter has been known to be problematic for these trucks, in yet there has been no recall. A simple google search shows these fires are common. The vehicle has been in for service at the dealership many times but no one checked on the faulty fuel filter positioned above the hot engine components.

This submission is more related to a brand-new fuel line that was purchased from the Ford dealer for this vehicle upon failure of the existing line. When the new line was removed from the packaging, the mechanic inspected the clip that secures the line to the secondary fuel filter housing. It was observed that the brand-new clip was defective and that even the slightest touch of the clip would unlock the line. It is believed that if this line were installed in the vehicle, the vibration of the engine could potentially unclip the line causing fuel to spray in the hot engine compartment. The line was retained and can be provided for examination.

The truck was traveling west on [xxx] towards stockton when the instrument panel illuminated with a “low fuel pressure” warning and the coworker (cw) immediately pulled over. Once on the side of the road, the cw confirmed the truck was leaking fuel and the local garage was contacted. It was found that a line running to the secondary fuel filter had come loose and was leaking from the fitting. The securement clip on the line was inspected, and it is believed the clip on the line is defective. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

While driving down the road at approximately 45 mph, under normal conditions, with no warning indicators the low fuel pressure light came on. When the driver stopped the vehicle he lost all power and observed smoke emanating from the underside and hood of the vehicle. Prior to him exiting the vehicle he observed flames shooting out from under the console towards his feet. Upon exiting the vehicle I saw flames under the hood of the vehicle and utilized his supplied fire extinguisher to attempt to put the fire out. This was futile and to our benefit he had a pressure washer and 119 gallons of water that he was able to put into action to subdue the fire. Noting that the drivers side front fender melted off and a hole melted in the drivers side hood from the fire. The entire engine compartment was burned as well as melted components and plastic in the passenger compartment of the vehicle from the fire.

Unknown issue causes the fuse box to over heat melting the harness and fuse box killing the fule pump and engine. Truck turned of and immediately restarted on the highway.

I'm reporting a serious problem that my 2015 Ford f550 was just diagnosed wit. The dealer is asking $15,800 to repair it. The fuel system, is contaminated, is has a lot of oxidation, the fix includes replacing the entire fuel system.

Brought the truck in to Ford and they told me that paint lining from the tank may of gone into the fuel lines and system so they suggested that we replace the tank and they also replaced 2 injectors and the wiring harness for the injectors and reset the check engine light drove fine till the check engine light come on then its in limp mode and only drives at 40 miles per hour it is unsafe to drive on the highway and I do like this truck.

While driving the truck down the interstate the reduced engine power light will illuminate and the truck will begin to lose speed and the engine will die, resulting in difficult steering and braking. The Ford dealer has indicated this issue is being caused by water contamination in the fuel, although the water in fuel light has never been on and the dealership not been able to provide any conclusive evidence of water contamination.

Diesel exhaust fluid system failed shutting down my vehicle while driving and I had to be towed to a Ford dealer. This is a safety issue and could have caused a major accident on the highway. I never got a recall notice about this major problem. Now I am told I would have to spend over $5000. 00 to get this problem fixed. Ford had gotten many complaints about this issue. They should pay to have this repair done. I only had this vehicle for a short time and paid over $59,000 for it. I tried to contact several Ford executives over two weeks ago and heard back from none.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-550. While at a stop sign, the vehicle stalled and the low power warning message displayed across the message board. The contact was able to restart the vehicle which was then towed to a dealer. The technician stated that there was contamination in the fuel line and that the fuel system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,633.

The truck has not run properly since it was purchased, and the motor was replaced back in 2013 with mileage of 31,00 due to oil being splattered all over and no power. We had spend over 10,000. 00 to fix the defective issues. Now almost 2 years to the day the engine has again failed. Ford offers no help or explanations as to why this continues to happen. .
