The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-550 chassis with an earth roamer RV. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 mph, the vehicle was making an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that the turbo charger needle on the instrument cluster fell to a zero. The contact stated no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was losing motive power while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the abnormal banging sound was louder, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact pulled off the highway and then stated that the power steering had failed. The contact turned off and restart the vehicle; however, the power steering and the abnormal engine sound remained present. The contact was able to drive a several yards before the vehicle stalled. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

I was driving about 57 mph headed NW on i270 in the north denver metro area. I went over a bridge abutment and the vehicle started shaking violently in the front end. I let off the gas but the extreme vibration/shaking continued until I slowed down to around 20 mph. I thought I had lost something in the front end. Then it happened again when I was driving between i70 and us 50 in western colorado. I was only going 30 miles an hour and hit a rotomilled section of asphalt(a perfect edge drop to the rotomilled pavement) and the violent shaking started but ended much quicker as I slowed down to about 10 mph. First incident was 8/12/23 and second incident was 8/21/23.

Vehicle was being driven at 50mph when truck encountered pothole in road. Steering wheel began to shake back and forth violently and vehicle was uncontrollable. Truck veered to left and crashed into guardrail while being slowed to a stop.

While driving and getting off the freeway at approximately 55 pmh truck when into a violent death wobble and had to slam on the brakes and come to a complete stop before it started. Truck has 36,384 miles on it and all front end steering is tight with no play, steering stabilizer was replaced with an aftermarket due to Ford's is an national back order and not known when will be available and Ford told me that this is not covered under warranty or any recall even though there are 5100 of them on back order! I am a 35 year ase master mechanic with a bachelor degree is diesel power technology and run a companies fleet of over 40 trucks, we have our own shop and inspected this truck ourselves and repaired.

Tl the contact owns a 2018 Ford F-550. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehcile started to shake violently from front end of vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to heartland Ford (5979 west, us hwy 136, covington, in 47932, (765)793-2233) where it was diagnosed with needing the steering damper, 3 ball joints, and track bar to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to lafayette Ford (2051 sagamore pkwy s, lafayette, in 47905, (765) 447-9444) but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. Truck will shake uncontrollably at highway speeds. We have had the front end/drive shaft/new tires/wheels either replaced or gone through. Nothing has improved.

From the day I took it off the lot truck pulls left and right brakes squeak vibration starts at 55mph fills like rear ended is loss truck swerves . I was driving down freeway when rear sliding window blew out from inside of cab out sounding like a gun shot or tire blew up inside the cab and blew glass all over my 4 year old in back seat . I have had this truck into Ford for a number of things but won't fix vibration or the way truck drives down the road.

All super duty cab and chassis and vans also since 2011 though 2015 have had the seat moved to the center by 1 1/2 " to allow for the air bag to have room to expand, between seat and door. But they choose not to move the pedals and steering wheel over to the center 1 1/2 " . They left them off set to the seat center by 1 1/2 " to the left of center of the seat. So basicly you steer off to the left of center , which is a dangerous and it hides part of the speedometer. So you spend time struggling trying to read the speedometer , which causes you not to look at the road. This should be a major recall ///////.

Purchased brand new Ford F-550 on 11/27/06. On a road trip on 11/28/06 the wife and I noticed a vertical shimmy at 50mph. We continued to accelerate and the shimmy stopped until we hit 60mph and a horizontal shaking began. The shaking is intermittent but quite pronounced. Several trips to the dealership failed to correct the problem. At times, after hitting a bump in the road, an uncontrollable vibration with shake the entire vehicle for several seconds. The vibrations continue to this day virtually every time the vehicle is driven.
