There is a problem with the transmission. After driving 10 miles or so there is a crunch noise when accelerating. Do not feel comfortable driving. I have went to the dealership and they stated there isn't a part available for the problem. It has gotten worse over the past 13 months.
I've had the car for two years. I've been complaining about the car "shuttering" issue for a year and a half. Within the first year I complained about it they said that they were getting similar complaints and handed me a flyer from a stack that they had readily available at their desk which mentions what I'm experiencing is normal and will go away with time. Earlier this year I brought the car in with this issue and they had to remove the transmission and replace parts in the gears. The issue seems to be getting worse. Yesterday, I was at a traffic light waiting to turn left. I started to accelerate then the car started to majorly shutter. It caused a significant delay in time that it would normally take to make the turn while I was in mid turn at a very busy intersection with approaching traffic. A few weeks ago I made an appointment to bring my car in today. When I explained what happened to me yesterday they said they were aware of this "shuttering" issue and had multiple complaints. I asked them many questions. . . . Some of the questions were: when I brought this to your attention in the first year why did you ignore my complaint and hand me a flyer telling me this is normal? when my husband brought the car in for scheduled maintenance a few weeks ago why didn't you inform him that there was a recall notice on the transmission that extends the service warranty and that there could be a safety issue? she explained that Ford was to blame and not the dealership. She said that Ford was giving them misinformation and told them all along that this was normal of the transmission and so that's what they were telling their customers. I urge you to please look into this because this is a severe safety hazard.
Transmission shudders while accelerating, it feels as though car will not move forward without sputtering. Initially car drifted backward while stopped on a decline. Transmission was supposedly repaired, had more problems after repairs, had to replace two front tires, noise came from front tires and dashboard vibrated. Now transmission is sputtering again while accelerating.
Jerking, shuddering, loss of power on acceleration. Was almost been rear ended because of this. This is a recurring issue. Received recall from Ford for transmission. Took car in to dealership and was told they found no problem or issue with my car. Car continues to be a concern because of the jerking, stuttering and loss of power on acceleration.
Harsh shifting of transmission, or other transmission shifting complaints/problems. Loss of power on initial take-off from a stop or from low speeds. The feeling of the transmission "slipping". Harsh or delayed engagement of transmission "jerking" or "shuddering" upon take-off from a stop. Vehicle rolls backwards when on an incline. Vehicle loses power when on the interstate and you try and accelerate to pass another vehicle.
After driving up a steep hill several times, the shift change became rough, and the car often shuddered when accelerating at a low speed like a poorly driven stick shift vehicle. The clutch was replaced once, but the same problem occurred after driving about 10,000 miles after the clutch was replaced.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle jerked, failed to accelerate, and the engine warning light illuminated. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.
Multiple problems with transmission, jerking, shuttering, loss of power. This is an ongoing problem that Ford says is because of the automatic clutch.
My Ford Fiesta 2013 has been having issues with shuddering, lunging, jerking, and failing to engage gear shifts. I have been told by several Ford dealers and servicemen that I need to drive the vehicle as if it were a stickshift and hesitation between gear shifts is normal for this car. A Ford dealer hooked up a laptop and reset the vehicle to TSB 13-4-5 "intermittent transmission clutch shudder dps6 automatic transmission". The problem was not resolved, so I filed a complaint with Ford motor company; complaint #2989023. I was told that I need to bring the car to a dealer and they need proof that there is something wrong with the car. The service person said I need to be driving the car while faults are documented because the car has an adaptive learning program that responds to the driver's actions. I brough the car to schaumburgh Ford in illinois. The service director test drove the car while I was in the passenger's seat. He said he did not experience any faults with the vehicle. However, there was one instance as we were returning back to the dealership, that the car shuddered. The dealer took the car for the afternoon 8/29/2013 and said he reset the car again for TSB 13-4-5 update although they were unable to provide me with a receipt of work that was done. On the morning of 8/30/2013 the car experienced overheating and burning under the hood. A service person from the schaumber Ford dealership in illinois met to pick up the vehicle. The service person told me they would not be able to provide a rental car due to the weekend schedule. The issue is still being addressed by the dealer at this time.
I bought a new 2013 Ford Fiesta in November of 2012. I have had nothing but problems since. It has been in the shop more than 3 times, once was a broken catalytic converter, the other time was a soaked clutch, and another time was to get recalibrated. This car has acceleration issues and almost causes many accidents for me, it is shaky and bumpys, and jumpy. Everytime I take it in there is something wrong with and they advised me its not normal for new cars, when I read the reviews everyone has the same issues. There is also a roll back when you stop and press the gas to go, I have almost hit multiple cars in front of me because of this.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while at a stop sign, the vehicle shook and the contact noticed an abnormal rattling from the engine on several separate occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis but they were unable to duplicate the problem. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 26,000.
Was at a complete stop. Went to step on gas to turn right and the car would not go above 7 mph for about 8 seconds, then it shifted hard into second gear and sped down the street. I completed 4 more turns around the block of my housing track and at all 4 it did the same thing until I reached my driveway and had it towed to a dealer.
When trying to take off car almost shuts off and then all of the sudden picks back up and takes off. Sometimes coming out of first gear the gas sticks and chugs like it isn't getting gas just going down the highway. It is so bad that if you want to take off into traffic you have to cut the air off or heat to get all the power you can. If you have the ac on and make a turn and shift down you have to go a gear lower if the ac is on . Then it chugs along until it catches up.
I purchased this vehicle, a 2013 Ford Fiesta titanium hatchback on may 28, 2013. I have had numerous problems with it since I purchased it, especially with the transmission and now the catalytic converter. I just received a recall on the locking mechanisms for the doors. They could become unlocked anytime. There have been various recalls and updates to the car. However they have no parts at this point to correct the problems. The transmission has been temporarily corrected but no permanent fix. There has been a clutch on order since March 7, 2015 and the converter was diagnosed on March 27, 2015 and those are not available either. I drive about 600 miles a week and really need a dependable car. When I go to pull out into traffic the transmission bogs down so I have to give myself ample time to get out. I purchased this car with the expectations that it would give me a long repair free life. I did purchase an extended warranty but at the rate it's going the car will not make it that far. You would think that Ford would have the parts to correct the issues with this car. Either fix it or replace it. Ford is truly living up to it name. Fix or repair daily. I even called Ford customer service but they have never called me back either. My dealer has no info either. As much as I love the car itself I find myself wondering if I would ever purchase another Ford. If this is what I get for the money I paid why give them my hard earned money when they sell me a lemon. There is actually a class action lawsuit for this car. I have been hesitant to join it but I am now considering it since Ford doesn't seem to care. As for the date of the first incident and mileage I couldn't even guess. I know I had several issues within the 1st year of owning it.
Ever since I bought this car back in July of 2013 it has had transmission issues. It fails to accelerate quickly, instead just grinds gears and violently shakes. Ford supposedly "fixed" this 6 months ago, with the end result being actually worse. I was told it needed another part (clutch) and have been waiting 6 weeks for it, which is how long they said it would be. I just called and they said this is such a big issue that there were 35,000 of these parts on back order and it would be another 12 weeks at least until this issue is fixed. This is a huge safety concern! I have 2 little children and if a car were to swerve into my lane I would not be able to accelerate out of the way. I told this to Ford and what they said is that "this hasn't happened yet" which after reading reports online, I can tell is untrue. Thousands and thousands of complaints have been filed for over 4 years. They didn't offer any other assistance, except to tell me that maybe I should just trade it back in. I don't understand how this issue hasn't been addressed yet. And it is shocking to see how little Ford cares for the safety of their customers.
I almost died in this car today. I rented it for my trip in maui. It was practically new with only 10,000 miles on it, so there should not have been anything wrong, even if the people that rented it before me drove it horribly. Today I drove it into the hills (upcountry maui). I was on a road with a cliff on the left side and a driveway on the right. I pulled into the driveway, which was a hill going up, and everything was initially fine, the car was going up the hill just fine, but a little over halfway up the hill the car stopped accelerating/moving. I was pressing the gas pedal to the floor but it had no rpms and the car began rolling backwards. Suddenly, the transmission (?) kicked in and the car lurched forward at 20mph. Thankfully I was able to control it and make it to the top of the hill, where there was a parking lot. Had the transmission not kicked in at that second, the car would have rolled all the way back down the driveway and off the cliff. There is absolutely no way that I was pressing the brake pedal or not pressing the gas. I was going up a hill and obviously didn't want to roll back, so of course I would have my foot pressed down on the accelerator. This is further exhibited by the fact that the car suddenly lurched forward after a few seconds of not moving, so I definitely had my foot on the accelerator the whole time. I have read online hundreds of people that have issues with the car not accelerating/moving while pressing on the gas, so this is not an isolated issue. What if this happens to someone else who is riding it in the hills or mountains? please do something about this car before someone is seriously hurt.
I've experienced my new Ford Fiesta 2013 shuddering, shaking, and chugging. Especially when I'm on a hill stopped and I try to accelerate. I have an automatic and it acts like a manual transmission. When I attempted to accelerate on the hill after stopping, the vehicle almost shut down completely. I brought my vehicle to the dealership which I purchased it from on two different occasions. Both times, the service advisor and the service manager informed me that the vehicle is performing as it should and there are no problems. I can't rely on the vehicle to accelerate as it should. Many times I've been afraid of my safety to merge into traffic because I know it won't perform.
I purchased a 2013 Ford Fiesta in July of 2013. The first two weeks I was driving it, I noticed jerking, lunging, and shuttering when trying to accelerate from low speeds or from a stopped position. Soon thereafter, a metal noise started from the engine area. I took it back to the dealership and they said I had a problem with the "clutch" in the transmission and it would have to be replaced. It took a while (11 days) to get the part in, but the work was done. Several weeks later the problem started again. I drove the car as it was because I needed it for my busy job. When I transferred to houston in the fall of 2014, I had it serviced again at the local Ford dealership because the problem was getting worse. They had my car for 3 days and all they said was it "needed an update. " update or not, the problem was and is still there. The lunging, and mis-shifts have never been worse. I put up with it until this week when I accelerated in houston traffic and my Fiesta would not go. I could have caused a terrible accident and injury to myself and others due to the transmission not functioning properly. The shuttering is so bad that it seems as if the car's back brakes are locked up and the car is dragging its back end. I have a new appointment on 6/29/15 with the same dealership that did the "update. " this will be the third time I have had a dealership attempt to fix this problem.
First time it almost completely died on me getting on the highway, then all of the sudden it gunned it and took off. About 3 miles down the high way engine lights and service lights came on. I got to work and they towed it. They said they changed some kind of wiring under the front window and dash. That didn't fix it. The next day I was pulling out of wendy's and give it some gas and nothing happened. I rolled then all of the sudden it gunned it again. I almost got hit. Got it home and parted it. Took it in the next day and they changed the throttle body on it. It still hesitates as you go down the highway. Has very little take off and merging power. The only thing I am glad I did when I bought this car was I got a straight drive. It would have no power if it was an automatic.
Took car to get accelerator sticking, chugging down, loosing power for the 5th time. When they put it on the computer to see what was wrong they found out that the last dealer that did the airbag recall left the thing unplugged. What? really? if we would have got the accelerator to stick or car die when I was pulling out and got hit and my husband would have gotten hurt because the airbag didn't deploy, what would their excuse be this time.
My Ford Fiesta it does not work right since I bought it new. I went back to Ford car dealer they said they don't know what is wrong with it. Then about 30days latter found out what is wrong with it ,I took the car in to have it fixed got it back still does the same thing . Sometimes I try to get it to take off from a stop sing an it will not take of good . I am the city car in front of me slow down then the car does not want to go up the hill . When it gets warm it runs real bad . I got it going 25 mph in city I try to give it more gas and it putt putt all the time . I call Ford dealers tell me bring it in nothing has helped it . They told me to hit the gas pedal hard I tried that does not help . In June 2016 got a letter in mail my door lock need to be fixed I went to Ford dealer said they don't know how to fix it yet . The door opened by itself one time . It does it on highway when come to a hill to give more gas and it putt . This car the way it acts I will not sell it to any one . It will kill them or me driving it .
June 2013, Ford Fiesta 2013 (bought new oct 2012) began to shudder upon takeoff from a stop and also when shifting between 1st and 2nd gear. Took car to dealership on July 18, 2013; they performed a software update and said (at that time) if that didn't work the clutch would have to be replaced. Took car back on September 4, 2013. Took mechanic out but traffic was heavy and I couldn't reproduce the exact issue. However, problems listed above still persist, and an additional issue of power loss when turning the corner at speeds of 10 mph or less has developed.
The car is jerking between 0 and 15 miles an hour. The jerking has gotten progressively worse over the last year. On yesterday 05/03/2014, the jerking is even worse. The dealership (tropical Ford of orlando) has informed us that Ford motors said this is normal and then provided a one page document for the issue. The entire vehicle is shaking until the car get to 15 miles per hour.
I was driving on a street in my Fiesta and was at a stop. When I pressed the gas to go again the vehicle jerked forward more quicker then usual and bumped the car in front of me. I have had this car in the shop 5 times for transmission problems and no one is fixing it. I was in another accident recently when I pressed the gas and the car did not accelerate while I was turning in front of traffic. I could have been killed, my car was hit due to me not accelerating.
This has been an ongoing problem with the vehicle. I purchased car on November 10, 2012, and on November 13 heard a noise in engine. The car would jerk and surge on take off. I returned car to dealer who could not find anything wrong with car. The noise became louder, car began to shudder and surge more often during take off, and stick in reverse. I returned car to dealer on January 8, 2013, but the couldn't find problem. Over the next few months the noise became louder, car shuddered and surged, and began sticking in drive. I returned to dealer again on may 29, 2014, and dealer told me about transmission problems with Ford Fiestas. I picked car up on June 5, 2015 and drove short distance and all power to transmission went out. It eventually 'came back' and I was able to return to dealership. The problem was worse than when I took it to dealer in the beginning. This was a very scary situation because I was in the middle of rush hour traffic. I have had ongoing problems since I purchased car. It had 3 miles on it the date of purchase. I financed 21,049 to get car, and cannot afford to trade car in and go upside on payments. The car is a lemon! I have spoken with Ford 3 times about the matter. I am scared to ride in the car now. I need a car to go do work daily. Ford should recognize this problem and replace my car with a 'better' car. It is a shame that a large conglomerate like Ford can sell a 'lemon' and a consumer like me (single mom) with limited income has to 'take it. " Ford should be held accountable. I have researched the problems and found supporting evidence to my case. I have contacted the attorney general's office in my state about the matter, and spoke with general manager at dealership. Ford has offered to extend my bumper to bumper warranty to 75,000 miles or 5 years (Nov. 2017) but I am still scared to ride in the car. It's dangerous.
After a long battle with the dealership over a previous death trap[used] the owner agreed to rectify that issue with a brand new 2013 Ford Fiesta. That was a great thought till the first engine light coming on,they found no reason except the gas tank has no cap. I was told this is dirt around the seal and it will keep happening unless I buy my own cap. Well it wasn't long and my car started spitting missing hesitating, engine light comes back on I take it back in they believe there is a pinhole in my gas line. They keep my car for a week they did supply a loaner not a Fiesta !!!! I told them of the issues but they found nothing. Now a couple weeks ago I took it back for these issues I had pointed out to them previously. I had the service person ride along he felt aa of the issues heard all of the sounds the grinding ,revving. I am so afraid in this car getting on and off ramps it doesn't pick up speed it almost sounds like the gears are reversing. I cannot pass anyone,I live in a highly traveled area for tourists who don't drive the same as locals on single lane roads. A brand new car isnt suppose to make you feel that you were better off not having a car. Ford should be ashamed . . . You dont take shortcuts or rush a product that can badly affect hundreds of thousands of people. I want out of my contract I owe more than this car is worth,I do blame the dealer also for continuing to sell this death trap. Just saying enough people are having the same issues and if anyone who has made this complaint ends up in an accident due to these obvious issues that have been brought to the attention of Ford ,dealerships and the national safety board I hope these families sue your pants off. Forcing you out of business. Unless you rectify each persons individual situation and not a generac brushoff. Been there done that. Get on the ball and fix this problem now!.
