The contact owns a 2007 Ford Five Hundred. The vehicle experienced a flat tire and the contact attempted to replace it with the mechanical jack that came equipped with the vehicle. Once the vehicle was lifted from the ground, the jack and tooth gear failed. The vehicle dropped to the ground, but was not damaged. The dealer is replacing the jack, but the contact believes that all of the jacks may be defective. The current and failure mileages were 7,000.
