The rear- view back up camera does not operate properly when vehicle is put in reverse. It works intemittedly. Sometimes image is black, sometimes upside down, sometime, works properly, sometime image freezes, and sometimes shows error camera not working contact dealership. Reduces the the ability to see what is behind the vehicle when backin up and increases the risk of crash.
Rear camera stopped working years ago. Will only work briefly after collision warning alert goes off which goes off randomly even when there are no other vehicles in the area.
I repaired 1 door ajar dsf under warranty had to pay for 2 doors psf & psr due to out of warranty now there’s a recall but I’m over 250,000 miles ,so Ford refuses to to cover the door handle sensor recall.
My back up camera show upside down or sometimes it shows a black screen. People have a habit of walking behind me when I’m backing up and I can’t see them. The warning beep sounds but I can’t tell if it a car or person behind me. When it first happen months ago I tried resetting camera, it didn’t work. Not sure if my extended warranty covers this.
Backup camera will not work or send image inverted.
The back up/ rear camera failed on this vehicle. The sudden failure of this caused me to panic as I could no longer see directly behind my vehicle.
Backup camera not working.
Have difficulty fueling vehicle. “fuel fill inlet” warning stays on dash. Strong fuel mixture smell in cabin. Fuel will overspill if you try to pump gas at full force. Smells like fuel is leaking. Concerned about possible explosion. Many other drivers having the same issues. Strange clicking sounds from front end.
Rear view camera on my 2013 Ford Flex failing in same manner as other models recalled by Ford for failed rear view cameras. Initial failure was a few years ago after original mfr warranty period, however it is my understanding that the recalled models have extended warranty to 15 years. As such, since this is the same type of component, it is clear that my 2013 Flex should also be recalled and covered through the 2028 calendar year. Undoubtedly, the root cause of this failure is inherent in the design and manufacture of all generations of backup cameras deployed by Ford and not limited to certain manufacturing dates. Nhtsa should not allow itself to be misled by Ford into a narrower scope of recall.
The front passenger door is showing that the door is not closed when I close it. Later as the car sits in my driveway, the alarm goes on. I believe the door is unlatching and therefore dangerous if this occurs when I'm driving. The dealership looked at it and states that the latch assembly needs to be replaced. However, I do remember a past recall for this same issue. If this door were to unlatch while driving this could be fatal. I believe this needs to be repaired by the dealership.
My 2013 Ford Flex had the same issues as many that have been recalled. Ford states that the vehicle is not covered under the recall. My electronic power steering assist is no longer working and the service traction control is on. This has been reported from many other Ford Flex owners but it seems like Ford is trying to skimp on by with this by saying it’s not covered. All Ford Flex’s 2013 year model should be recalled to replace / inspect the power steering rack assembly.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Flex. The contact stated that while making various turns at slow speeds, the steering wheel would lock mid turn as the vehicle would shut-off. The contact then stated that the service advance-trac message appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle would restart soon after failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer to be serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 20v072000 (suspension) however, he was informed that his vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v340000 (steering) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and provided the contact with the same information about the recall. The contact was then referred to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
On Friday, June 18, 2021 while driving my 2013 Ford Flex, the power steering went out while I was driving. I went online and found an old may 27, 2015 Ford safety recall for this issue but apparently it did not include my car. Not sure how Ford determines which cars will/will not have this issue. It needs to include all calls in that category.
I had a recall for the driver door latch to be replaced. The very day that it was replaced, I get in, start my vehicle and the passenger door light comes on showing that it's open but it wasn't. I immediately go back inside to ask the service department since they literally just replaced the recalled drivers door latch. They stated that "it's a coincidence " and that it would cost to fix it. I drove it for as long as I could but my alarm would randomly go off and lights start blinking. I was afraid I'd come out oand my vehicle not start due to the battery being dead because of the alarm and lights going off. I broke down and paid to have the passenger door light fixed which the Ford service department told me it would. The exact same thing happened and now my back passenger door light keeps coming on!! alarm randomly goes off and lights blink. I can't afford to gix this again. They told me it would fix the problem yet once they replaced the recalled door latch this has now happened with other doors.
We have 2 complaints about the airbags. I was driving 65mph on highway and hit a bear on front drivers side (airbag did not deploy. ) repaired the car. My daughter was in a highway collision rear ended a person at 43 -45 mph airbags did not deploy. Informed yesterday the car is a total loss. She had her glasses thrown off her face dash was pushed back, trooper and tow truck driver were shocked they didn't go off. She was not injured having concussive symptoms. We also found out that the VIN does not match the interior of the car as they were running the specs of the vehicle. The VIN is saying that it is a cloth interior and my car has leather interior. If it was an upgrade it should still be associated with the VIN of the car?.
I have a safety concern on my 2013 Ford Flex VIN# 2fmgk5d83dbd18071 I had a recall replaced in November 2020 for front driver side door latch. Customer satisfaction program 19n09 as soon as I got in my car after the replaced recall, the passenger door light came on saying it was open even though it wasn't. I went back inside and asked about it. The service department told me that it wasn't covered under the warranty, that only the driver side was. It was very strange that it happened to pop up directly after getting the recall for the driver side replaced. As soon as I save enough money, I will get it fixed but if the driver side had a warranty, I feel that the passenger side should too. Thank you.
Ford recalled door latch assembly on driver door and is not acknowledging that the same assembly in other doors should be covered in the recall. Why would you cover the assembly in a driver door and not the passenger door. If the assembly is faulty, it should be fixed regardless of the door it is in. The sensor in the door latch thinks the door is open when it is closed, causing the dome lights to stay on and the warning to constantly sound until you can close it and the sensor catches. It has been happening on the passenger door for several months.
Have had multiple door latch/sensor assemblies fail which results door ajar message constantly being given. This results in dome lighting staying on while door is closed and depleting the battery causing an unmonitored electrical use. It also is a distraction to the driver due to both the warning light but also the audio alert that plays when under a certain speed telling you to park and close the door. This takes away from other possible alerts the cars could give you due to overly alerting the driver.
While driving, the car just stops. No power, cannot turn wheel, gas nor brake pedal works. Have to restart by pushing ignition button. This has happened a few times already and is a major safety issue.
Takata recall , I took my car to mel hambelton Ford, for a vehicle health inspection and never was informed about the fsa title sync with myford mylincoln tough wzarranty extension covering accessory protocol interface module apim , but was under primary concerns diag. And replace apim for blank screen, yet when I get on Ford pass I learn of this issue, never the dealer that sold my the car or the Ford dealership offer to assist me are checked the recalls on this vehicle12/13/18.
2013 Ford Flex - door sensor keeps thinking it is open. It prevents us from locking the doors, both parked and in motion. It allows our children to open the door while in motion because the doors will not latch. Issue is still occurring. It started a month ago (start of November 2018), however now does it every time we are getting into or out of the vehicle. Issue while driving: when the sensor is sensing the door as "open", the lights in the vehicle stay on for over 3 miles of driving before they will turn off - day or night causing a back light (glare) issue during night time driving. Issue while stopped, both sitting in and outside of the vehicle: the lights do not turn off and runs down the battery of my vehicle. I timed the lights after getting home and at 30 minutes I stopped the timer - as it was too cold to continue. I had to shut the door 12 times before the sensor finally sensed a "closed" door and shut the lights off.
The rear passenger doors are shut all the way, but the car senses them as open and keeps the interior lights on with a door ajar warning on the dashboard. There was a TSB performed on my car for this issue, but the issue has returned. It is an intermittent issue. I have to try opening and closing the door to get it to show as shut. It can cause the car alarm to go off at times. The warning can come on while I'm driving, long after I shut the door.
Back-up camera shows blank screen, wiggle lines throughout, states to contact dealer for service, or shows up upside down and backwards. I took my vehicle to the bill brown Ford dealership 04sep18. I paid $112 to be told camera was failing and was quoted a minimum of $650 to replace. I declined as the vehicle was only 5 years old and was hoping for a recall. I now see many newer vehicles were just recalled for the same issue.
The door ajar light come on the dash even though all doors are closed. The door unlocks after locking due to the car thinking the door is open. This is the front passenger door. The light will randomly go off and on without even touching the door. This also cause the interior lights to come on which is not safe when driving at night.
Door lock sensors. Door lock sensors failing to recognize when the doors are shut so constantly showing doors ajar. This has drained my battery to the point where it needed to be replaced. Door sensor was replaced also. The cost of this was approximately $500. Now two more sensors are bad. I leave my house before sunrise. When I get in my car in the morning my interior lights will not go off until my vehicle reaches an accelerated speed. So I am pulling out of my driveway unable to see due to interior lights hoping that my neighbors who run are not behind my vehicle or the children at the bus stop across the street are clear from my vehicle. Additionally, my elderly mother has gotten into my car and forgotten to shut her passenger side door. After driving for fifteen minutes, I realized that in fact her door was open butthe sensor always shows it as open. I now am faced with spending another $700+ to have the sensors replaced. This puts my total investment in sensor replacement at over $1200. This is almost one of my paychecks or two weeks worth of pay! it is a sacrifice I have to make as Ford has produced a defective and unsafe product. I can no longer knowingly put my family and those around me at risk although Ford will not accept responsibility for their product.
I have a 2013 Ford Flex and the doors always say they are open even thought they are closed. It causes me not to be able to lock my doors, the dome light to stay on which is very dangerous when reversing at night out of a parking spot, and I believe it's unsafe being that I have children and I can't know whether or not the doors are closed accurately. I've contacted Ford several times and get the run around. The dome light will stay on until I've hit 10mph. Reversing with a bright dome light on is very dangerous. I've also had to replace my battery several times because the light stays on.
Passenger door sensor is only working half of the time. The door is closed but the alarm shows the door as opened. Opening and closing the door again and again will eventually work to register the door as closed. This is a safety concern as I am never really sure if the door is closed. When the door is shown as open the interior lights remain on.
Both of the tail lights have water intrusion about 3 0z of water within the chamber. I have replaced lights several times. Shortening out which has caused a problem with safety and traffic violations.
The vehicle incorrectly believes the doors are open when they are shut. This prevents the doors from locking at all speeds, which is an unsafe condition. If an occupant tries to lock the doors while the vehicle is in motion, the vehicle immediately unlocks the doors. The issue also causes the interior lights to stay illuminated while the vehicle is parked and until the vehicle reaches an appropriate speed when in use. The open/closed state of the door changes at random (without the actual door being opened or closed) and causes the alarm to randomly go off when the vehicle is parked. The combination of the lights staying illuminated and the alarm going off when the vehicle is parked drained and ruined the battery in the vehicle. Jump starting the vehicle did not work and the battery had to be replaced.
When stationary and parked, the door ajar error message appears on the dash for the driver's door after entering the vehicle. This produces error messages on the screen, turns on the interior lights, and prevents the doors from being locked. After repeatedly opening and slamming the door shut multiple times the message may or may not go away. If slamming the door shut multiple times does not work the messages, lights, and inability to lock the doors continues while in motion.
2013 Ford Flex se purchased in December 2012 with 60,000 miles is experiencing front and rear passenger door latching problems. The front passenger door 'door ajar' light is triggered after the door has been closed. When this problem began, opening and closing the door would be enough to engage the sensor but over the past month it has not been effective. This is a problem for a few reasons: first, it does not automatically lock the doors when the car is in motion which is a potential safety hazard under normal driving conditions or if the vehicle was to be in an accident. The door could possibly fly open during a collision leaving the passengers vulnerable to being thrown from the vehicle or objects coming into the vehicle. Second, the cabin light remains on while driving which creates a glare on the windshield making it impossible to see outside the vehicle. Third, the cabin lights stay on after the vehicle is locked which causes an unwarranted strain on the vehicle battery. As for the back right passenger door, it is not latching. I fear that at anytime the door may come unlatched while driving. If this problem continues and the door does not latch, the vehicle will be inoperable. Since my warranty expired and there are no recalls, I am expected to pay the price to maintain door latches on a vehicle.
1. Driver and passenger side door sensor/latch/electrical malfunction. Door is ajar warning does not turn off. Doors cannot lock when driving. Major safety issue for kids in back seats. Alarm goes off anytime randomly. Drains battery and affects electrical system. Faulty back up camera. 2. Water pump failure under engine. Covered by 6yr/60k warranty, failed at 62k miles. Replacement cost is an extreme high cost of $2700.
The door sensors keeped on indicating that the door was open when it was close. Numerous complaints online about the same issue. I had to replace all four doors sensors.
Passenger and rear passenger door ajar switches keep coming on. The doors will not lock when vehicle is in motion. Also when you lock the door after using the vehicle the lights inside the vehicle stay on.
As I'm driving the check engine light turns on and it slows down my car to two miles per hour once I turn it back off and back on it starts working again but as soon as I drive for a couple of miles or not even a couple of minutes the light comes back on and my car go straight to driving to miles per hour I want to know what could be wrong with this and why is it doing it.
