1 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 12/30/2022

Fuel pump control module system failure. Diagnostic confirmed with Ford dealer.

2 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2020

Vehicle suddenly shut down causing the vehicle to stall and now won't start. Seems like our vehicle has no power going to the fuel pump. This happened while driving down the road. Vehicle now will not start but does still have lights come on. Acts like its not getting fuel.

3 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2019

On October 18, 2019, while entering a parking space at the ikea parking lot, my car experience a loss of power, causing the engine to stall. I tried to start it up about 10 times, and nothing happened - it failed to start every time. After about 2 hours of trying, I finally had to have it towed to my house. When I performed a obd-ii system scan, with my scanner, I got a fault code of p0627 (fuel pump a control circuit) I took the car to the Ford dealer, and explained the problem. After two hours, they called me and said their tests revealed no fault codes. Based on the issue I described, they said that if I wanted, they can change the fuel pump, but I would have to pay $100 deductible under the extended warranty plan. The think that may fix the issue of stalling, or not starting. My issue is that if the problem is not fixed, it may increase the risk of a crash, at any given time, and without notice. Given the fact that there are other complaints about this same issue, I think that a general recall for this make/mode/year car should be initiated, before someone loses their life over it.

4 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2019

My 2015 Ford Flex was exhibiting symptoms described in the Ford safety recall 16s31. The engine stalled while driving with no warning 5 times over the past two years of ownership with the most recent occurring on 6/20/2019 at 8:15 am. Each incident was at different speeds (30 - 70mph) but no warning prefaced the stall and you had to cut the power off and turn it back on for the car to start again. Two of the stalls were during turning operations while others were while driving straight. On other occasions the engine did not start via remote start, however no dates recorded. This recall, that describes the exact symptoms, states that it does not cover my vehicle because I have a different engine. However, the part in the recall is the fuel pump control module. My 2015 Ford Flex had the fuel pump control module aa8a-9d412-CA with the supplier part number 2177806-5e. As per the recall, this is a part that needs to be replaced. I just had the dealer replace it with the new part aa8z-9d370-b, service history below: we have taken the vehicle to two separate Ford dealerships over the past year due to this issue. Neither dealership recognized this issue because our VIN number wasn't on the list of vins provided by Ford. I paid for the repair recommend in safety recall 16s31 out of pocket so that my vehicle will be safe to drive again. The first dealership replaced the throttle body and charged us for it. After the issue occurred again, the second dealership again replaced the throttle body since the throttle body was still under warranty from the first repair. It appears the recall does not cover all of the affected vehicles. There are other Ford Flex that have these faulty parts.

5 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2018

Our 2015 Ford Flex recently died when we were driving in traffic, with no warning when we were driving with our 2 young children. The Ford Flex only has ~45k miles on it and has been serviced regularly. Turns out it is bad part (fuel pump electric module (pem)) that is recalled by Ford in the 2015 Flex. The recall was started in 2016 and our Flex died in 2018. I was told by the dealer and later by Ford service that our car is not covered because the VIN is not included in the recall. So while some 2015 Ford Flexs' had this exact part covered under warranty ours was not. We had to have it towed into the dealer, san tan Ford in gilbert az, and then pay them about $400 for the repair. The dealer was great but it is not right Ford does not cover this part on our particular car since it is exactly the make, model, year and part that is covered under the warranty. Below is a copy of the recall from the NHTSA. Gov website. Summary: Ford motor company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ford taurus, Ford Flex, Lincoln mks and Lincoln mkt vehicles equipped with 3. 5l gtdi ecoboost engines and 2013-2015 Ford taurus police interceptor vehicles. A component within the fuel pump electric module (pem) may overheat causing a loss of electrical power to the fuel pump. Consequence: a loss of power to the fuel pump will cause the engine to stall or prevent the vehicle from starting, increasing the risk of a crash.

6 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/19/2018

In October 2018, our Ford Flex was parked in the driveway when we tried to start it and it did a minor crank and then nothing. It wouldn't start or do anything. Worked fine the night before. Had to have the car towed and turns out the fuel pump control module failed on it costing $650 to replace the part. Seems like this is a major issue with these cars and I don't understand why there isn't a recall or refund on the repairs as there was on the turbocharged ones. I have had one problem after another with this vehicle and told that each part "somehow failed" before it's time with no other explanation than bad parts. The wheel bearing failed, the touch on the touch screen has failed, the electric seat failed and now the a/c compressor has failed as well. I am ready to get rid of this money pit car.

7 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2018

First time car wouldn't start parked at work, 2 days later on Monday it started, drove it to dealer, they replaced the sender and pump asy, under warranty. 3 mths later sputter and died pulling into traffic, had car towed to dealer, they replaced fuel pump control module, not on recall or warranty.
