Unknown Or Other problem #1

The rear passenger door will not lock or unlock with the keyless entry nor the buttons in the car. Turning on or off the child lock feature does not affect it. I can manually 'force it' either way - barely - for now. This happened once before several years ago - where it was stuck completely unlocked, and you couldn't manually force it. It was like that for several months and then mysteriously fixed itself. I have looked up this particular problem online and have found that this make & model appears to have many cars with this issue yet Ford has not done a recall on it. This is a safety issue. Two scenarios are possible here that alarm either emergency personnel can not open the door because it's stuck in the locked position and cannot be moved or the door remains unlocked and unwanted persons get in or things in the car get stolen because the lock is stuck unlocked. Common sense would seem to argue that this deserves to be fixed at no cost to the consumer, given the safety issues with this defect.

Unknown Or Other problem #2

I purchased a pre-owned 2005 Ford Focus about 1 1/2 ago. Recently, the driver's side passenger door would not lock automatically or manually. I searched the internet for information and discovered that there had been a recall on this problem. I called Ford and was told that my vehicle was not included in the recall because it was only the 2005 Ford Focus from a certain manufacturing location. The representative informed me that my 2005 Focus was not manufactured from that particular location. So I took it to my mechanic who stated that it was the door latch and would cost $271. 44 to repair. I had no choice but to have it repaired. I've attached a copy of the recall and I'm very upset since it is the exact problem that I am having yet it's not included in the recall. I understand that vehicles need repairs from time to time but its troubling to me that this was a major problem that resulted in a recall, but I'm out the money because mine wasn't a part of it. My husband and I own 2 Ford vehicles and will be in the market for another vehicle soon and debating whether or not to buy another Ford.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

Both rear doors wont stay shut and the driver door wont open.

Unknown Or Other problem #4

The rear passenger exterior door latch has failed. There is an NHTSA campaign id number : 05v030000 for 2005 Ford Focus door latch problems. I called Ford and gave them my VIN number and they said there is no recall for that VIN. In my opinion the NHTSA description of the failure is the same as my problem.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

The contact owns a 2005 Ford Focus. While driving approximately 62 mph with the cruise control activated, the contact bumped the floor shifter and the gears shifted from drive into neutral. The rpm's began racing until he turned off the vehicle and pulled off the road. He attempted this scenario a few times and got the same results. The current mileage was 25,166 and failure mileage was 25,100. Updated 05/06/08.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

I purchased a 2005 Ford Focus in October of 2004. After a rainstorm in November of 2005, a major leak occurred, leaving over 2 inches of water on the front, passenger floor. The dealership fixed the car. In July of 2006 I found water in the same location. After the dealership looked at the car, they stated that it is coming from a different location (not where they originally sealed it). They went on to tell me that they would have to remove my dashboard, requiring extensive labor, to locate the new cause of the leak. Unfortunately, my warranty is up because I drive far to work. I have only gone 700 miles over my limit. After speaking with many agents at the Ford motor company I find I am out of luck. A service representative said that if there were enough complaints they would have to file a recall but he has not had any yet. (I am the first. . . I â¦find that hard to believe). I went on-line to search for others in my situation. I found numerous websites with complaints of Ford Focuses leaking on the passenger floor.
