Back passenger door fails to latch when closed.
The rear driver side door latch will not latch and stay closed. The door swung open while I was driving. It has not been reproduced. It has not been inspected. I believe something is wrong with the door latch, but I do not use this door very much.
The vehicle was being towed by a class a RV using a manufacturer approved towing system. All connections and safety measures were properly installed and tested just prior to incident. Vehicle has been towed using the same equipment for several years with no incident. The attachment from the frame to the front-end assembly completely separated and the vehicle body went into oncoming traffic. The vehicle in oncoming lane was struck and one individual injured. Upon visual examination, the frame component appears to have failed on both sides at the front-end. The bolts are still in-tack, tight and uncompromised. This is a frame component failure.
There is a warning light showing a code 1450, unable to create fuel vacuum, that at first was thought to be an issue with a current recall for the car that was fixed. But after a routine oil change a fuel leak was found. I was told by the mechanic that it appears to be a fuel tank deformation similar to the 19s22 recall. My Ford Focus was not apart of that recall and I was told by Ford to contact you to potentially have my car added. The leak is subnational enough that it could cause an engine fire.
I bought this car in February of this year, and the problems were present at purchase, I have brought it in and had them looked at but unable to determine what was wrong. The car sometimes stalls out whenever parked, or idling. Every time I put gas in, then start it, the vehicle will start then immediately stall. I have to start it and push the gas to keep it from stalling and quickly put into drive and his the gas to get it from stalling when I try to drive away. While starting the car the rpms go very high and reves as if someone was pushing the gas. The hood display on the dash always says the hood is open. This has been present since start.
I have taken my car into to carson city, nv Ford dealer many times. They say they fixed something else and do not have the time to fix the door latches that I made the appointment for . The only one that needs to be done is the back door on the driver's side. The rest were done the first time I took it in. I'm on a six plus month waiting list again to have the latch replaced with the right one! this has gone on way to many years. What happens if the door open and then closes on a kid/person in the back seat? safety recall notice 20s30 / NHTSA 20v-331.
After completing door latch recall there is still an alert the the hatchback is open. And doesn't shut off. The dealer states that I have to pay for replacement since the recall shows complete. Except the instructions did not show anything in regards to this component , in regards to the fuel system, the dealer said I would have to pay for test to determine if the pcm would fix the engine ight after I took in for recall.
Ford recall 20530, NHTSA recall 16v-643. Car was serviced under recall but has exhibited issue with door opening since recall service. Within the last 6 months the car will give a warning that the door is ajar while driving. The issue is intermittent but has happened on multiple occasions. Contacted Ford directly and it was stated that they will not repair car under the recall. The "warranty for the recall has expired" all repairs even though they are directly related to the recall will have to be repaired "out of warrany". This is clearly a safety issue. A car door should not open when traveling at 65mph.
There rear drivers door won't shut and I just found out it was recalled.
Took my vehicle in for the recall on the door latches and they said everything was good and when l check the VIN on the NHTSA it states that recall incomplete. Also Ford had a recall my Ford Focus in my 2012 year about the evap l have had code p0456 in relation to p0456 evaporative emissions system - small leak detected. Ford supposely did a recall on this and supposely did work on my vehicle before l owned it, now it has same issue so l believe it was never changed out? I believe that recall was back in 2016 or 2017 or 2018?.
Air compression inside has always had air come inside the car never being sealed. Car engine overheats when they use their own products. Tire fault, they claim they couldn't see it, but if they really do diagnostic test as they charge, then they should see all the codes that come up on faults. Ford knows they have had issues with the cars but when you take car in they claim they can't see it, claims to do a diagnostic test, which they don't. Ask about the results they claim there is no diagnostic test for it, but yet they scam with warranty and yourself. Doors leak they say it's normal but it brings mold inside the car. I start it up to keep the battery going and to find someone honest who won't cheat you, cuz the dealerships are scamming folks. Same thing numerous times so I used the last date.
I began to notice my vehicle having lighting issues, including dimmer inside dome lights, flickering license plate lights, and it was pointed out to me that my back up lights weren't functional at all. I was parked parallel with other vehicles in a parking lot. Then after starting my vehicle, I shifted my automatic transmission into reverse going only about 2 mph when the vehicle began to beep, along with a warning that my luggage compartment door was open. In the situation, the beeping was very distracting and could have increased the risk of crashing. I immediately re-parked my vehicle so that I could investigate. I opened , then firmly closed all 4 of my doors, then tired to open the trunk , only to find that my trunk wouldn't open. The beeping persisted until I pressed the ok button on my steering wheel. I was able to drive my vehicle home safely, although the warning remained on my display the entire drive home. My trunk wouldn't open when pressing on the trunk release button on my Smart-key either. I drove the vehicle in that condition for approximately 3 months before I was able to located the source of the problem. After doing ample research on other 2012 Ford Focus drivers that complained of the same symptoms. So I accessed my trunk by folding my back seats down, then pulling the emergency trunk release lever. I then located the faulty wires that were causing all of my symptoms. I had the wires repaired by a professional. That solution worked for about 3 months before reoccurring.
On 5/26/20, replacement driver's side front door latch stopped working. The latch was replaced in 2017 under the recall.
Door latches have failed after being installed do to recall twice in a little over 2 years 3 doors in total have fail two recently Ford is refusing to fix somebody going to get killed because of this issue I am a heavy collison tect with close to 59 years experiance they done nothing to resolve this issue.
Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving between 45 and 50 mph, while the front passenger was leaning against the passenger door, independently open without warning. The contact coasted over to the side of the road and noticed the front passenger door lock failed. The contact drove the vehicle to his residence with a cargo strap. The contact called krause family Ford of woodstock dealer (195 woodstock pkwy, woodstock, GA 30188, (877) 808-3640) and was informed the VIN was not part of NHTSA campaign number: 16v643000 (latches/locks/linkages). The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 112,000. Aw.
Spring clip broke post recall replacement 2012 Ford Focus rear driver door. Car was stationary when first noticed issue. Door will not latch closed nor allow other car doors to be locked. Poses safety risk to children in back seat and protection risk to car theft.
Pcm/ecm software inadequate to detect a stuck open canister purge valve(cpv) yes it is available for inspection upon request. After recall service was performed the 2012 Ford Focus se slipped out of gear. The car stalled. The vehicle stopped completely while driving in traffic. The vehichle shoot had no power. The message center display said engine malfunction, transmission failure and starting system failure. The vehicle was taken back immediately to the Ford certified shop. The vehicle did not have any problems until recall service was performed. Yes the vehicle was inspected again . There werent any warning lamps or messages or any mechanical or electrical or software problems . The symptoms did not begin until after recall service was performed by a Ford certified repair facility. Ford stated if the vehicle exhibited any issues after service was performed to take the vehicle back nto were recall service was performed and the car will be fixed free of charge. This did not happen the car has 55 thousand miles on it . It has sat in my driveway since September of 2019. The door latches could come open on their own. I was told that recall service was performed on my 2012 Ford Focus se by the Ford certified mechanic facility mike white Ford of cd'a idaho. In fact they never performed the brepairs or even looked at the doors. After repair work was supposedly done I received a letter stating that service was not done and to take my car back to the same place that destroyed my car in the first place . Ford motor company refuses to do as their recall letter stated. Ford motor company denies any fault concerning my 20123 Ford Focus . Its been almost three years of me trying to get my car repaired. The Ford motor company absolutely knew the 2012 Ford Focus had major issues . They chose to sell the car to the consumers any way.
Driver's side rear door failed to latch. Took veh to dealer. They advised rear door latch failure removed door panel and replaced door latch. I asked if this was a recall and was told no I would have to pay for it, that this vehicle was not on the recall issued by NHTSA 16v643000 2012-1015 Ford Focus. If this is correct maybe you need to extend the recall. See attachment with bill for repairs.
Takata recall my driver side door want shut and I see it has a recall on my engine also. I was driving and my door just flew open I tired shitting it several times it wouldn't budge. My radio also don't work ether I don't know if that's part of it.
Tl- the contact owns a Ford Focus 2012. The contact stated that while driving 10mph the front passenger door opened without warning. No warning lights illuminated. The dealer and manufacturer had not been made aware of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 77,146. Nd.
Today's date I have called Ford motor company and spoke with miss. Chris id#2191199 around 10:53 am pst. With the given recent opened number was # cas16420379 to state the said problems and to se how we could possibly solved the said concerns we have. I have told, I have been denied or refused to have my vehicle to be re-serviced over again for the reoccurring previously fixed and serviced mechanical or electronic pcm related software or the hardware failures today's morning and I was told by one of their service advisor named as frank this vehicle can not be serviced any longer. Because, this vehicle record's showing that the vehicle it is branded and/or salvaged and that it will void any kind of mechanical warranties and when I said this vehicle previously was serviced under the same condition and records and why can not be re-serviced over again for said previously fixed at your dealerships service department ? when I asked what has been changed from before and until now ? he did not give me a sufficient answer for my satisfactions. The transmission was operating in-properly and took the vehicle to the authorized local Ford dealership in the city of costa mesa,CA-92627. Checked it in to the service area and registered it with service advisor#7217 to mr. Ned shortsleeve's cares for the said problems. And that we claimed the said issues we were experiencing. 1-the check engine light comes on and stays solid on and when that happened the transmission won't operate properly 2-then they have placed the tcm the side door latch it may break per the manufacturer's safety recall and was asked the dealer to replace the said door component and we were told the part it is not available and needs to be ordered so can be replaced. We will be called when the part is arrived but,we never been called.
Recall # 16s30 side door latch replacement remedy was never performed on vehicle in 2016. I just purchased car on October 27, 2018 and there is a problem with the door closing which leads me to believe it is because the remedy was never performed. The vehicle was at the dealership when I discovered a problem with the door.
Takata recall, first off is the driver door comes unlocked while driving, also had a door lock and wasn't able to close. My 2012 Focus feels like it's got no power alot of times or will start to spudder from every stop. Does same when reversing out of a drive way. Sometimes it seems like it wants to stall, I have the automatic. It revs at really high rpms like it needs to shift but doesn't. Probably have more issues the longer I keep it, I believe the huffines dealership, the company that financed and Ford knew these things could and did happen to the car I was sold. Single father with a 4 year old son just trying to get this fixed nothing about this is safe.
I was driving and my rear left door flew open when making a right turn out of a parking lot, now I shut my right front door and it won't latch. I've never received a notification about a recall. This should be fixed before a child flies out of a car. My car only has 55k miles on it. This is pretty sad.
All of a sudden my drivers door closes, but will not latch shut and this is a huge safety issue. Worked yesterday and today when I went to leave door opened and interior lights came on with a dash warning that drivers door is open. This happened in my driveway.
Door will not close and latch. Therefore it will fly open when driving if it is not tied to something else in the car. This happened spontaneously with an accident, but during regular use.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the passenger's side front door latch was inoperable. Grieco Ford of fort lauderdale located at 1333 n federal hwy, fort lauderdale, FL 33304, (954) 390-6400, was contacted and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v643000 (latches/locks/linkages). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. Ah.
I had the door actuators/latches replaced in may of 2017. The left rear door actuator replaced under the recall failed again and the door does not latch closed. I spoke with the dealership that replaced the actuators under the recall and was told that they will only warranty the actuators for 12 months from the installation date. I called Ford customer care and was told that they would not replace the actuators under the recall and that I would be responsible for the cost of the repair. Either the part did not get replaced as the dealership says it did, or the recalled parts are failing in the same way that the oem parts are failing.
The drivers side passenger door will not lock or close. It will fly open when the vehicle is in motion. My daughter was in the backseat buckled up when the door which was locked, flew open on the highway as I went around a turn. I have to keep it strapped shut with a rope so it doesn't fly open and hurt someone, and I can't have my daughter in the car because it is unsafe. Even if I had it in a different seat who knows if the other doors will go too. It does not close or lock at all, even when not turning the door just hangs open. I saw there was a recall but when I entered my VIN number it says it's not a part of the recall.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the leftside passenger door will not close. An appointment has been set for Monday for diagnoses at anderson Ford bull head city (928) 704-9850 2585 az-95, bullhead city, az 86442. Where informed that the failure is due to a fractured pawl spring. The manufacturer was not informed. Jw.
The trunk lid is rusting/deteriorating along the rim that meets the back bumper. I just dropped it off my red Ford Focus to scott's auto fixit in webster, NY for repair. I couldn't afford the new truck lid that the dealership service department offered at the Ford dealership in webster. The trunk lid was inspected by my auto insurance representative in 2019 (I have photos from 2019 and today {2024}). The lid is deteriorating with pieces of the lid falling into the trunk. I'm concerned of the possible risk of the trunk deteriorating to the point that other safety components would be affected - light, latch, lock (security). I've also notice that several Ford Focus automobiles are experiencing the same issue; the trunk lids are visibly rusting/deteriorating. The rust has discolored the paint on the rear bumper; that also needs to be addressed. Frustrated!.
Door latch did not catch as we were going home from dinner on Sunday 4-22-18 with my sister sitting in the back seat behind the driver. We luckily were in the parking lot of the restaurant when my husband saw it was not closing as it should. In order to drive it home safely we had to use the seat belt to hold the door as closed as possible with my sister also holding it as we had many miles to drive to our home. This was a part that Ford replaced in 2017 due to a recall. Was this part defective too. It would seem to me it should last more than 13 months. Ford will not do anything to help with the cost to correct which is excessive.
Vehicle transmission jerky - more noticeable a few weeks after purchase from Ford dealership va beach Ford April/may 2016. Dealer said it had to learn driving style, they also updated some software in 2016 - provided no documentation for update - after update car seemed quieter. Almost 1. 5years later the vehicle cut off on a back road with my husband and 5 year old daughter whilst in motion. Took it to a Ford dealer overseas where we are stationed. In October 2017 they switched the tcm box, car worked way better. As of January 2020, the shudder/jerking has returned and we also now have door lock actuator failure, we had one before we found out it was a warranty repair issue and had a local mechanic repair one of the rear ones. Was driving and for some reason the driver's side lock would not hold to car frame. Dealer had to order the locks to replace on two front door positions. Not sure why they are not replacing all the locks. We have also told Ford USA, Ford USA europe representative and Ford italy about the shuddering returning and they all sent us back to one of the other parties. I believe they don't care anymore since they are in the hole. When we asked Ford USA for assistance told us that military autosource would assist in all service related issues. Even military autosource has backed out of trying to lift a finger to assist since this transmission issue is bigger than them. Looks like they have essentially began to cut ties with any car customer owners in the USA market.
Closed driver door in a parking lot. Returned to car to find door partially open. Attempted many times to close door. Door would not latch. Had to manually hold door closed to drive home. Door remains unable to latch.
Car taken to dealership for recall 16s30 to replace 4 door latches per NHTSA website. When car returned to customer only stated 1 latch replaced.
