After filling up the tank with gas, the vehicle stutters and feels like it's jumping when I am at a stop light and start to go. The gas gauge goes up while I am driving and the vehicle runs out of gas randomly. I was parked at my house and it wouldn't crank when I ran out of gas the 1st time (about three weeks ago) and the 2nd time (6/6/2018), I was on the interstate and the vehicle died due to no gas, yet the gauge was not on empty. Fortunately I was able to get off the side of the road and call roadside assistance. The vehicle is now at at Ford service repair shop and I am waiting to hear from them but the service repairman said this is a common problem, that he had the same vehicle in the week before with this same issue. Last Friday, I had a customer service representative with a Ford dealership tell me this is a common problem that occurs in this vehicle. Obviously running out of gas randomly is very dangerous. There needs to be a recall on this immediately to save lives. Ford needs to take responsibility for this manufacturing defect.
I have a check engine light that is on found out its a evap leak gas gauge not working ran out of gas can not put gas on gas tank with a gas can if I try it pours out the bottom when I start vehicle it shudders and wants to die out on me lack of power when I press on the gas pedal and ticking sound in engine also door latch on passenger back door does not unlock unless I push the button unlock 2 or 3 times.
This is the second time this issue has occurred. Last October was the first. The engine light came on and the car rpm gauge raced but there was no acceleration. The car jerks hard. First time mechanic (don chalmers capitol Ford) told me that these issues were normal, that all of these cars have shuttering issues, which to me was a frightening statement. They addressed a14m01 transmission clutch shudder and input shaft seal warrant (fsa). The total bill was $1,377. 88. This time, I was told I would be responsible for any work and diagnostics. I stated that I experienced the same exact shuttering, shifting issues and noises as the first time and was told it could be anything. I am scared to drive this car.
Every recall event for my 2013 Ford Focus, I have encountered. After a year and half of continued trips to and being without my car for service. The transmission issues still not resolved along with the electrical issues. The stereo display goes blank, at times shows incorrect date and clock jumps to different hours. The car lunges forward when you get to about 25 to 30 mph or hesitates when you excel. When you put in park it will lunge forward or act like you've popped the clutch even when brake is on. It shudders, has bump & bang noises, lunges, suspension noises. I can feel bumping/thumping under my feet when turning corners. Have had issues with the gas tank assembly and fuel system gauge (this part has been fixed) continued issues with the digital panel, intermittent erratic cluster radio, clock and sync issues that the service department cannot duplicate. When I have issues with the digital panel, I take a picture. Once I turn vehicle off and back on it sometimes clears it up. I've complained about tires noises and ride, they say tires are fine. I went to the dealership to just trade it in and the dealer suggested I contact Ford motor to have them buy it back. I have placed a complaint on the Ford website, but have yet to receive a response. I am afraid to drive this vehicle but have no other choice. Do I have to ruin my credit by just dropping my vehicle off and walking away for them to take back. Ford motor company does not make it easy to talk to someone regarding my vehicle. They should be more accessible now before something tragic happens.
May 1st: significant vibration, vehicle shutters when shifting 4th: no changes in performance. Shutter and vibration continues; no work performed. Advised all of this is a “normal characteristic” of a dual clutch transmission. 10th: significant shaking at idle continues 17th: vibration continues; transmission continues to buck and stall. Vehicle does not respond well to sudden stops… significant shuddering and rpm gauge has rapid fluctuations. Gears still making grinding noise. 18th: transmission problems felt worse than usual today. 20th: vehicle does not drive well. Transmission continues to click/pop/grind; gear changes are rough, similar to someone who cannot drive a manual transmission 24th: rough idle persists; car slow to engage in first gear; feels like it is going to stall. June 4th: rough idle continues 26th: gear changes are not smooth and in fact are quite rough; car does not function normally. No improvement whatsoever since last update. 29th: vehicle shakes badly upon start; very rough shifting; car does not feel safe July 5th: gears are not engaging properly; delayed acceleration from 0mph in drive 11th: vibration is as bad as ever; no improvement. 17th: had two cases of delayed acceleration & bucking today 19th: vehicle shuttered significantly today; rpm gauge plating continues to rattle; passenger door would not unlock with remote key; beginning of electrical problems 21st: transmission stalled upon acceleration again; substantial hesitation 22nd: loud grinding noise shifting to reverse; rpm gauge went to about 2500 26th: stalling, shuddering/bucking continues; gear changes are not smooth 28th: interior electrical problem; interior overhead lights do not illuminate nor do the a/c & radio lights; 29th: experienced a very hard jolt upon acceleration so much so that it jarred the entire car.
