I was parked and it was the first hot day and my car turned off then cut back on after an hour, it did that for the next two days which lead me to tow I. T back home. An auto shop said that my car needed a new pcm . When the car is about to stop it says transmission not in park n no light are on.
The part that failed was the dual clutch. I was in traffic and my car did not want to accelerate after the stop it began to sputter then went to accelerate this happened more then once. It has been inspected and diagnosed for a worn clutch but I bought the car like that. No check engine light or anything has came on. I am financing this car and it sucks that I am not able to drive it if it was an emergency then I risk it and drive the car but the whole time I am scared because of the way it is struggles on the freeway and streets.
I was driving from missouri to michigan when my power steering failed. I was unable to operate my vehicle and 95 miles from my destination. My car was towed to preferred Ford in grand haven, mi. The problem was diagnosed as a power steering module failure which is unable to be replaced in this model and requires replacement of the entire steering rack. My car gave no indications of any problems and is serviced regularly. My car also has less than 25,000 miles on it.
Transmission problems at all speeds will like some help from Ford.
Our Ford Focus se 4 door sedan has some electrical issues. Hesitation, stalling and shuddering are the safety issues we're concerned about. I've noticed other Ford Focuses have these issues but recalls don't list our cars VIN # this happened previously but dealership couldn't find anything.
On January 14, 2022, at approximately 5:20 p. M. My wife was traveling southbound on pleasant hill road in lafayette, California towards the freeway entrance when the Ford Focus electric she was driving displayed a stop safely now message and almost immediately thereafter lost motive power at the busiest intersection in the city of lafayette. She was able to steer the car to the shoulder since she was in the right hand lane. The vehicle would not move and the steering wheel locked up. She called for assistance and I drove down and exchanged cars with her within approximately 15 minutes. After approximately 10 minutes of trying, I was able to get the vehicle to turn off and to turn on again without the stop safely now warning and was able to return the approximately 1. 5 miles to our residence. The sudden unexpected loss of motive power and loss of ability to accelerate is extremely dangerous and frightening and that danger can be extreme when traveling on roads without shoulders or in any lane except the right lane on a freeway.
One day as I was driving and sitting at a red light, that then turned green I was pushing on the gas but the car would not move. I placed my foot back onto the break put the car in park and then put it back in drive. The car then did pull off but very fast and kind of out of control. I felt like my safety was absolutely at risk because it continued to do this my entire way home stopping myself in traffic and jerking as I am driving. We did take the car to a shop which is where they told us it can be an electric problem somewhere in the transmission. At the time we couldn’t not afford to get any work done on the car. No the car hasn’t been inspected by the manufacturer or police or insurance. No warning lamps were on prior to these problems. The check engine light came on about 2-3 days later.
The vehicle's engine continues to run after turning off and removing the keys. After the engine has stopped running it is also draining the battery.
Speakers making kids popping crackling ear piercing sounds even when car is shut off and keys are out car locked?! what's making this happen and is the car still safe to be in let alone drive?.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that driving at an undisclosed speed, the horn failed to operate as needed. Occasionally, the vehicle would stall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that there was corrosion on the wiring harness which caused the vehicle to stall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that a supervisor would reach out to the contact. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.
While driving down the road the housing for the pcm broke and the whole thing fell hitting the driver front tire and dragging on the while able to stop. The car then shut off and and had engine and transmission error codes. Took the car to shop to be fixed. A few weeks later the car starts shifting hard and sometimes not shifting past 3rd gear through out the day by thw end of the day reverse quits working. The next drove car 15 miles to town shut it off and has not started since. Waiting on dealership to have available time slot to repair.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to turn off as needed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. While driving, the engine was sputtering. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
The stereo/radio emits a very loud popping/cracking noise. The noise happens whether the car is turned or off. This puts the driver and passengers in danger because having a loud noise randomly happen while driving can cause the driver to jerk the wheel as a reflex/reaction. This can cause an accident on the road, putting the driver and passengers at risk, along with other vehicles and it’s passengers at risk. The manufacturer has not acknowledged the issue, and no guidance has been issued for owners. There are no warning lights or messages in place. This happens randomly and is very scary.
When I accelerate it keep stalling, speed won't change it takes like 10 seconds to pick up speed.
Several times while driving, the radio will make a loud cracking sound from the speakers, other times it will *crack* and all radio/bluetooth controls stop working, and other times the radio will *crack* and stop working entirely, where there is no sound until the car is turned off, and turned on again.
There is a loud electrical crakle sound coming from the speakers. It also does it when the car is off. It's very startling and I believe it's dangerous.
Vehicle was having many electrical issues including security system randomly going off, headlights flickering, inability to start engine, inability to stop engine even when electrical was powered down and battery drainage. The problem was the body control module (bcm) having been damaged from washer fluid ingress from the pump, along the wire harness, then into the bcm. Corrosion and damage was beyond repair. Needed to replace and reprogram. Will be without a vehicle for 2 months because of part backorder. Repair costs will end up being close to $2,000.
I drove to work and everything that morning but when it was time for me to go home , out of nowhere when I turned my car on it said steering loss . I wasn't able to turn my wheel or anything , so I had to get it towed. Thank god I was not on the road and it locked up on me because there's no telling what would've happened.
I just purchased used Nov 2020 it did not make it 30 days and has to have transmission , radio doesn't work . It slips bucks no acceleration and cut off in middle of interstate 3 times. Now I am stuck with this nightmare I don't have $4500. To fix!.
The car displays the p0902 obii code. The engine stalls and wont change gears properly. This is specially dangerous when turning since the cars behind you can't see you're stalling and may crash into you. Some times it gets so bad that the dashboard displays a message that the transmission has heated up and I have to pull over immediately. The car won't even run or change gears at that point. This problem happens randomly when driving. Specially when the vehicle is idle for a while.
The push start/stop button will not stop the engine sometimes! I have not had any problems starting the car using the same button. The vehicle was stationary and in park.
Ongoing electrical issues that may or may not be related. Vehicle will "stall" while in motion or while powered on but stopped at a light for example. It's an electric vehicle so the cause of the stall is unclear. Vehicle will be inoperable for 1-10 minutes, including power steering while the system resets. This happens usually at slow speeds or while stopped - in reverse, climbing hills, stopped at traffic lights. The problem was "fixed" in October 2019 and we were told that something doing while addressing one of the electrical recalls had caused the problem. Now it's happening again and Ford can't tell us why. We've been stranded pulling out of our driveway in the path of on coming traffic, blocking one lane roads in our neighborhood and at intersections.
While my daughter was driving with 2 young children in car on a city st/highway, car suddenly stopped, & had to be towed to a repair shop. . Mechanic reported that electrical wires were laying against engine, which overheated & melted wires, causing vehicle to stop. . . He added that it could have caused a fire & ought to be a recall item.
The buttons on my key all work but when I go to start my car it says there is no key.
Engine stopped while in motion on freeway. Entire electrical system and acceleration would not power back on. Steering and brakes were still operational. After pulling over, the car will not turn on, and doors will not remain locked.
Check engine light comes on and the engine has stopped while in motion, have had it checked out 4 times already. 1st time dealer said there were some wires that are close to the manifold were frayed and then repaired. The last 3 times the check engine light came on I pulled over while driving, turned the engine off waited a few minutes and restarted the car and was able to drive a few miles. I have now taken the car to a different for dealer 3 times in the past 5 weeks and every time it's a different code with the exception of the 3rd time. They replaced the battery at no charge now today 5 days later the check engine light came on again. This will be the 5th time! this has happened on the highway and on city streets. We have spent over $500 and my time getting back and forth from this dealership to remedy this problem.
Repeatedly the speakers will randomly pop very loudly, even when radio is off, and the speakers will not function again until car is restarted. The loud noise is very startling and dangerous. It occurs at irregular intervals, when moving and not, and with radio on or not.
Was driving and heard a very loud pop and crack noises. There was no audio and the car wouldn't let me turn the radio on nor off. While this was happening the pop and crack noises still continued. I did some research and it turns out these Ford radio are known to do this and I just want to report it as a safety issue due to the fact that when my radio is off the noises are still going on and they are very loud. This could cause other people accidents and is very irresponsible on Fords behalf.
My car is shutting down and the code p068a and I know someone that has the same car same model year same problems transmission problems car not moving no matter how much you hit the gas and he got recalls on the car my car is having the same problems I will be driving on the road and the car will jump shake than go and it's keeps doing it as well as I can be going 20 mph and my rpm is at 6 not dropping unless my foot is off the gas.
It clicks constantly - I have start the car with a battery charger although I just put a new battery in the car, I have had the transmission clutch and parts replaced twice. - its still slipping out of gear it sound like grinding metal. Im so done with this car.
The power steering just stops working from time to time. This happened while taking a curve the last time this happened. I have found that numerous people are having this issue with a number of their Fords that have the electronic sterring assist. This happened to me the first time on March 5 this year. (2020) I remember because it was my birthday.
After refueling the vehicle, the first time I go to start the engine it gets to approx: 1000 rpm and then rpm proceed to decrease until the car has stalled. When attempting to start the car the second time, the rpm drop but the car catches it and it does not stall. Only after refueling does this issue occur.
Hello, this information is to be added to my previous complaints. I could not find a way to add to existing complaints on the web site so I did another complaint. Reference: tracking # 11308693 #11308409 and request #266675 Focus complaint. The attached pictures are of the leaking washer fluid pump that I replaced. Ford motor company knew they had an issue with these pumps. The original factory pump was manufactured in china and the new Ford motorcraft washer pump that I installed is now manufactured in poland. This repair cost me $724. 00 and I did most of the work myself. All the dealer did was install and program a new bcm module.
Engine continues to run after engine is shut off after parked for minutes or hours even with the key removed from the ignition. Once vehicle does shut off the battery (brand new) will completely drain overnight. Unknown. . . But Ford did have a recall for this issue for over 433,000 vehicles but not this specific year model.
My 16 year old daughter was driving in her 2014 Ford Focus se on the interstate. I was a passenger as she only has her learners permit. All the sudden she complained the vehicle was hard to steer. I saw her having a physically hard time steering the vehicle. I looked at the dashboard and saw the power steering assist failure indicator icon (electronic power assist steering - epas)activated on the dashboard. My daughter continued to struggle to maintain the vehicle safely due to the power steering issue. She drove to the nearest exit which was even worse than the highway. She had trouble steering through the "s" turns on the exit ramp. She came to the intersection, luckily the light was green and she didn't have to stop to turn right, but it wasn't much help. While turning onto another two lane highway she almost hit the concrete medium due to the epas failure. Watching her drive the vehicle reminded me when I drove my grandfathers old Dodge dart; no power steering. I understand.
