The vehicle is slow to move when put into gear, (or from a stopped position on the road), and then suddenly lurches forward. This has been reported to several Ford car care centers but they do nothing about it and expect the driver to "adapt" to the way the car handles. This can cause an accident when making a turn from a stop because there is no acceptable predictability of it happening.
Rpm jumps when pedal is not pushed. Car has issues going into reverse. Tcm issues.
I hit a deer, lost control of my vehicle and rolled it twice. None of my air bags deployed and my 911 assist never dialed 911.
The car feels like it's skipping when I try to pull out at stop signs and lights. Also does it when I'm driving. Feels like a gear slips or something.
My car is stalling while in motion and at a idle. It will stall after sitting idle for about 15 minutes. I have brought it to a Ford service center and they refused to fix the recall because the diagnostic machine did not show a code when the car was hooked up to the machine.
Transmission he runs well in first and second perfectly and in third skates.
The push open gas cover won't open leaving me stranded at gas station.
Car will not start after gas is put into the car. Takes a few times to start it back up and will stall if not thrown into drive real quick and speed off. Rpm's will constantly run up. Takes a lot of power to pick up speed or go up a hill.
I financed this car with wii auto in arizona , I have had work done multiple times trying to fix the problem and nothing wii auto mechanic or Ford dealership can figure out the problem. Every time I get my car out the shop and spending all this money “to fix the problem” my car does the same thing. My car will shut off while I’m driving because it thinks it’s over heating. I’ve had my battery replaced, fuel pumps/modules replaced, coolant tank replaced, everything they can thing of. I haven’t drove my car in months and I’m still making payments because when I try and talk to the dealership they basically say OH well, the car in my eyes was sold to me as a lemon my car has been in the shop more times than I can think. I have all the paperwork and I feel so helpless because every time I try and talk to wii auto they just brush me off like it’s not a major problem. I almost lost my life in this car because it shut off while I was driving in the freeway. I’ve even gotten loaner cars from this dealership when they were “working on my car” and they’ve done the same things like shut off on me or even almost cost me my life because the back tires were literally coming off the car. I’m in need of help. I’m tired of making payments on a car I haven’t even got to drive. I had to literally go and financed a whole different car from a different dealership because wii auto won’t help.
The car has a hard time accelerating and almost almost doesnt sometimes. The engine was silent but now the engine seems kind of loud when starting up. The car was in motion on the street.
Hello, my name is evelyn deel. I am emailing you because I have a big problem/concern. My car had a recall on something in the transmission. So in April of 2019 I took my car to the shop at carmen Ford in newcastle, DE where I purchased my car from. When I took it there the check engine light for the recall had came on and it was jerking. They claim they fixed it. Well in the beginning of December 2019 my check engine light came on with the same code and was jerking again. I took it back to carmen Ford. They had my car three weeks and they said all they had to do was reset two things that weren't matching up. The same day I picked it up I had to take it back because it was still jerking. They had my car two in a half more weeks than called me and said that 4 techs drove my car and they had no problem and it wasn't jerking. So I went up there again on January 13,2020 and did a ride test with bill who at this time had noticed the jerking my car was doing that I was talking about. We turned around and went back to carmen Ford where he said he will let the techs no it's jerking now. Two days later he called me and said the tech did a shutter test and it's normal. He said that sometimes Ford cars do the jerking and that it is normal. I explained to them it has only done it these two times that my check engine light came on with this recall thing. He said there is nothing else to do and my car was ready for pick up. I picked up my car on Friday, January 15,2020. When I picked it up it was making a louder noise than had been, still jerking very bad and now will not reverse. I called the service shop at carmen Ford Saturday morning January 16,2020@ 10:30am and they basically blew me off. This is my only vehicle and I have two young children than I have to drive with in that car and I don't feel it is safe and they are refusing to fix anything but keep telling me it's fine.
While driving my car the center display which has my odometer and digital speed as well as any warnings for my car showed lines across it and it is difficult to read. In researching it I found this is a common occurrence with these cars and it will eventually go completely black and not work at all.
The transmission the gears wont go into reverse there was a recall on transmission clutch still didn't fix the problem its not even 5 years I have had it.
Driver statement = on my way home from work at approximately 03:00(am) I was driving the gov traveling westbound on 72nd avenue past the intersection of pierce street. I noticed the cabin of the car starting to fill with smoke, then I noticed a small flame under the hood of the car. So then I immediately pulled over got out of the car and called 911. When the arvada police arrived on the scene, they had a small fire extinguisher which they tried to extinguish the fire. Shortly after that the arvada fire department arrived and put the fire out. No one was injured and there was not any property damage other than the gov.
My daughter was driving my car and it just stopped. We had to have the car towed. We had the mechanic come to the house. The car started right up. We went ahead and had the battery checked. The battery was fine. A week later and on a continuous basis we've tried to start the car and it doesn't start at all. The same message continues to appear starting system fault.
Went into a store, parked in parking spot, came out, got in car, placed car in reverse to back out of spot, car began to back up, then slowed down and stopped with engine still on,. I then placed car in drive, went forward, then attempted to back out again, car backed up, then slowed down again, then jerked really hard. After waiting for the cars parked on the right and left side of me to leave, I placed car in reverse again, it stopped again, I placed car in drive, car accelerated slowly, then gave a hard jerk again, and I was able to drive forward and make a complete circle, and drive forward out of the parking spot a half a mile home . Upon entering my driveway, car began to accelerate and stopped when I applied the brakes immediately. The car sat for 24hrs, I then tried to start it up, it started up, but when I placed it into reverse, it did not move at all.
I was driving on the highway going 60 and my steering wheel locked up and an alert popped up on my dash saying driver assist fault. Repair required, it went away after about 30 minutes but it has happened once again since then and the first occurrence only happened yesterday. And as well to that my transmission which is a 6 speed is stiff and sticks a lot where I can't change gears immediately.
The vehicle has stalled, and stopped, and would not start in middle of traffic several times, including the last incident where police had to assist at a red light. So traumatic, not driven since and continue to pay notes and insurance. Have had vechile towed to dealership several times, and problem still exists. Please help. Thanks.
When idling for so long the car just died. I opened the door and the alarm went haywire. Then I have to wait 20 to 30 minutes before I can restart the car. Nothing will work after it does this until it's able to be restarted. It's been at the Ford delership. They replaced transmission issue, said that should fix it, but it still keeps on.
Vehicle stalls, high and erratic idle.
Transmission slipping and causing the battery to drain.
I was heading home pull into driveway and car just cut off and never start back up I wait for a hour car stayed back up headed out to auto zone and they put on a hand computer and it was coded with internal control module called fire gave them the VIN number and was told not a recall after a read the recalls from July 2019.
My car was part of a recall I took it to Ford and supposedly it was a quick fix til they could investigate and find an actual fix for it. Immediately after I got it back from Ford I started calling the dealer as well as Ford themselves to inform them that my car was not driving right and that something needed to b done due to it being a safety concern. On Nov 28 2019 I was approaching a stop sign and went to apply my brakes and at the moment I did that the cars dash lights completely lit up including traction light, check engine light had been illuminated since I got it back from Ford, the abs light and the up hill parking light. The brakes would not work or stop my car it seemed as though my car either shut off or just stopped responding to any thing I tried to do to get it under control and avoid a crash, nothing worked. As I got closer to the intersection I had no other choice but to turn the wheel and continue through the intersection and tried applying my brakes, all this resulted in an accident with me going over a curb down a ditch into a reservoir and then I got bounced back up the ditch and hit a tree which finally stopped my car. My car is now totaled I've only had ot for 17 months and because of the fact that I complained several times to Ford and the dealer and was told there wasnt a fix available, now I'm out of my only car I still owe money on it due to it being financed, and still Ford does not have a fix. I'm lucky to have only walked away with minor yet painful injuries but what happens to the next person? Ford needs to step it up. Im. Enclosing several pictures of the car accident as well as the check engine light illuminated when I got my car back from the dealer after it was supposed to b temporarily fixed. The police report is unavailable at this time due to the accident just happened a few days ago but once I receive it I can forward it.
I have gotten my car to the dealer for the various recalls and my car still is unsafe five separate instances my car has slowed to near stopping and three of those instances where on a major highway with children in the car of those three times I've been lucky that I have stayed and continued to drive on the right near the emergency lane. This car is unsafe to drive I have the same instance and every recall is supposed to be a solution to the problem. I've taken it to the dealer to check on it and everything appears to be working properly until it's time to drive and it continues to stall and stop. I've made a complaint before regarding this vehicle. This vehicle is unsafe to drive and there is still no solution to the issue that can end up costing lives. This car needs to be recalled due to its unsafe condition yet the company refuses to take accountability for this serious safety issue.
Received recall notice 18s32. I went to Ford website to check if there are any other recalls so I could them while done I'm out of town. The only recall it listed is this one, but website says recall incomplete.
Ford issued a recall for my Ford Focus because there's an issue with the vehicle's clutch. Everything was supposed to be covered with no expense to me. Upon delivering the car to a Ford dealership I was told that I would be charged $145 for them to run a diagnostic check to locate the severity of the issue to my clutch. If the results come back showing the clutch to be the issue then the fee would be waived, but if it turns out to be another issue then I'd be found liable for the charge. In this instance because there's a recall that has been issued by Ford, I do not feel that I should be getting charged just to have them look over the vehicle.
I was driving in morning rush-hour traffic, car engine shut off in middle of traffic and would not turn back on. After about 20-30 min, it started and I was able to move to safe area before it shut down again. I had it towed to a local Ford dealer.
Vehicle just turns off out of now where no matter the speed and it has been turning off even when it is in park.
My can used to get 400 plus miles when the has tank is full. Now it gets less and study get less when I fill up. When I step on the accelerator the car sound like air rushing in and the rpm's rev up way to high. This been going on for a few weeks. This happen while driving the freeway, highway, and the neighborhood streets.
Purchased used from a Ford dealer used 2015 Ford Focus. Was told that vehicle had to lern my style of driving. Car shutters when going accelerating, take time to shift between 1,2,3, gears. Also shutters at other speeds in the middle of shifting. Cannot shift quickly from parked or in stopped position like at a stop light or when merging into traffic. Car also now revs high and has to be cooled down after driving. I cannot trust vehicle to be driven by other family members due to transmission and engine acceleration problems. Has been an ongoing problem but dealership charges for diagnostics and states that it is the way I drive.
My husband was driving the car in rush hour traffic, on the highway, and the car suddenly made 3 clunks and then the car suddenly started losing power, almost died out. He could not get the car to accelerate, even though he was stepping on the gas pedal. He almost got hit. This is not the first time that the car has done this. The first time, it stalled out completely and left him stranded on the highway. Ford is aware that there is a stall risk, but they can not repair the car. I have contacted Ford headquarters regarding this safety issue. I have not heard back from them. The 2015 Ford Focus has a bad transmission and the vehicle is not safe to drive because of the stall risk. The dealership that has had my 2015 Ford Focus will not try to repeat the behavior that caused the car to completely lose acceleration. They keep trying to give the vehicle back to me and it is not fixed!! Ford motors needs to be held accountable for knowingly selling the 2012-2016 Ford Focus when they knew that all of these cars had bad transmissions. We do not want the car back. These vehicles should not be allowed to be driven because of the stall risk.
Took my car for tcm repair - dealership found another sensor issue needing to be replaced 4 days later transmission fault service now and hillside assist unavailable errors came on. When accelorating from a stop the car has a hard time shifting gears. Car is back at dealership but the mechanics and service director say they have never heard of such issues. It is all over the internet(over 4971 complaints) about Ford Focus transmission issues.
A/c sometimes reduces to almost no air and little cooling, dealer says the a/c condensor is freezing into a block of ice due to failing sensor(s), but the computer does not store a code so they won't replace any sensors until the a/c fails and I bring it in while it is in failure mode!!! really convenient in the no. Cal. Summer of 100 plus degree heat!!!! this has been occurring since 2017 with no repairs made!!!.
Recall with the pcm and tcm on this vehicle are a issue consistently every several months it is back at the dealership getting repaired. The recall only covers the vehicle till 80,000 miles. Unfortunately since it needs work (under recall issue) every couple of months to keep the car running I am at a loss as to what I am supposed to do when my car hits 80,000. The car has a hard shift, sometimes will not reverse, sometimes will not start, sometimes will not pass 1st gear.
Will driving down the street the other day my car stalled out well driving this is not the first time this has happened not only that but when you accelerate my car grinds while shifting gears the Ford dealership already told me it's due to my recall issue but when asked to fix it they told me I was going to have to pay them first my children were in my car had we been on the highway we could have been dead something needs to be done about this needs to be done as soon as possible because I am telling you right now if something happens to me or my family I will hold whoever is reading this email and forward personally responsible.
