My car has a check engine light with code p1450. This problem occurred in 2019 and was addressed by reprogramming the pcm. In 2021 I got the same code and now the purge valve is stuck open. I noticed that after adding fuel the car had trouble starting up until I gave it a little extra gas. I was advised not to drive the vehicle as it may stall, suddenly go into limp mode, or the fuel tank may collapse. I would like to note that all other Focuses of this generation have received a recall on the purge valve, but excluding my engine the 1. 0. A lot of digging into forums has shown me that many 1. 0 owners have had this problem with their Focus. Quite shady to recall only some of the Focuses when it seems that it's a common problem with all engine variations.
Steering seized up at 70k miles. Elec. Rack & pinion needs replacing $2800! this should not happen at 70k miles - extremely dangerous and expensive to fix on a 5 yr old car. Transmission stutters - was recalled, "fixed" and still hesitates occasionally. Never take an intersection for granted because car might stutter - extremely dangerous sometimes. Gas tank recalled - fixed.
Transmission- was denied service for clutch replacement due to mileage over 100,000. Though I filed complaint at 90,000 miles. Also, transmission leaks due to the faulty transmission. Unsafe due to possible fire hazard. Fuel- fuel tank was repaired by certified service dealer, since the repair I've been stranded 7x due to unable to get fuel. Half tank of gas traveling high speeds on interstate with traffic and car shuts off, I lose ability to control vehicle. 3x I've barely avoided collision. Single mom, one vehicle. Something has to give.
Car will not start. . . I was driving and the engine is acting like it needs fuel when there is gas in the tank. I had the pcv and coal. Xanaster replaced except the gas tank Ford store says gas tank is not deformed. . .
Each time you put gas into the vehicle it will not start for several minutes. The engine keeps trying to start but it will not kick over. Also the car has stalled while being driven down the highway and it has taken several minutes to start back. The dealership where I bought the car replaced a sensor in the gas tank however this did not fix the problem. After doing much research I have learned that Ford had a similar issue with the 2. 0 liter Ford Focus.
After having a recall done in December of 2018 for the canister purge valve, or know as recall 18s32 all that was performed was a reprogram and nothing else. A year later my vehicle is experiencing the same problems as before, the vehicle only has 65k miles on it. I contacted multiple Ford dealerships as well as Ford's corporate offices and was told that I would have to come out of my own pocket for any repairs that needed to be done regarding the problems I'm experiencing, because recall 18s32 was already performed on my vehicle. After fueling up and starting my car the car will almost stall out, as well as trying to stall when sitting at a red light or stop sign. I'm also experiencing a lack of power when accelerating. My obd scanner comes up with a fault code "p1450 unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum". A lot of people are experiencing this problem even after getting the recall 18s32 performed on their vehicles. It seems like a temporary solution was put in place and unfortunately many people are suffering from it, I would like to see Ford release a permanent fix to a potentially very dangerous problem!.
I was sent a letter of recall Dec 2018 for my 2015 Ford Focus, reference 18s32; NHTSA recall 18v-735; I promptly took my car into autonation Ford katy TX for repair, on Dec 22 2018, warranty claim invoice# 981353 at this time pcm was reprogrammed and it checked ok. On oct 30 2019 my car was at half tank of gas, and it stalled out repeatedly, and engine light remained on. I took it back in. Im concerned that: 1) the repair was not effective 2) I need a calibration & inspection on the powertrain control module; ref recall 19s22n 3) my cpv valve was never replaced, as Ford did not have the part avail at time of recall Dec 2018. My car is showing all symptoms of cpv and or pcm failure. . I cannot let my gas tank go till half full or below, or it surely stalls and engine light is on, also the low idle is v rough, classic cpv or pmc failure symptoms earlene schmitt cell 832-293-8414 work phone 713-798-6328 my dealer claims my cpv is fixed and I do not have right to recall 19s22n this is just wrong, in my opinion, it was never fixed, replaced in the beginning.
My can used to get 400 plus miles when the has tank is full. Now it gets less and study get less when I fill up. When I step on the accelerator the car sound like air rushing in and the rpm's rev up way to high. This been going on for a few weeks. This happen while driving the freeway, highway, and the neighborhood streets.
This complaint is in regards to the Ford Focus/fiesta dps6 transmission issue. Due to the dry dual clutch system issue, the vehicle engine would shake and rumble violently while moving. This mostly occurs when the supposedly automatic transmission shifting from the first and second gear. The first time I reported this to the dealer, they replaced the clutch which stopped the rumble issue until few months later, the rumble returned. Again I reported this to the dealership however this time they blamed it on the purge valve in the gas tank which they replaced. This did not fix the rumble issue and the dealership did not try to verify the rumble. They simply did not acknowledge it by stating they could not replicate the problem. Few months later while I was on the freeway, the rumble occurred again but worse than before. Immediately my vehicle lost power as if it's stuck at first gear. The vehicle's speed dropped tremendously which is extremely dangerous since I was on the freeway and everyone was going 60+ mph. Luckily I was able to pull over safely without getting hit. I restarted the vehicle and it ran continue to rumble but not as violently, the check engine light was on. I quickly brought the vehicle to the dealership for repair. Even though I have a bumper to bumper warranty, the warranty company refuse to cover the transmission repair because the dual clutch system is technically a manual clutch. For that reason they do not cover it. As a consumer, we have no idea exactly what type of parts the vehicle contains. The vehicle was advertised as automatic transmission which in common sense, it does not contain a manual clutch. The dealership was requesting $2000+ fee to replace this clutch. At the same time of this inspection, the purge valve in the gas tank was also defected and needs to be replaced.
Engine was stalling when I came to stops, check engline light came on. Code was for evap system. It was found the canister purge valve was faulty, causing the engine stalling. Keeping the gas tank filled above half tank alleviates the problem. We replaced the purge valve but the check engine light remains on as we cannot reprogram the pcm and I cant afford to let my car sit at Ford for three days before they even look at it and then the exorbitant cost to repair.
I have pick up issues due to recalled fuel cpv. I have to maintain above 1/2 tank of gas or else the fuel gauge does not register correctly causing me to run out of gas before the gauge registers empty. This has happened while I was in transit. The car has stalled while in traffic. It is very dangerous. Also, the car will sputter and backfire due to vapors gathering at dangerous levels in tank. The manufacturer notified me of this recall back in January and still does not have replacement part available to do recall repair. I utilize my vehicle to transport my mother who is on oxygen. I feel very unsafe doing so because of backfiring, stalling, etc ;so I have been having to spend tons of extra money arranging for alternate transport. This is ridiculous. Over 6 months to manufacture a replacement part? I want this part replaced before a worse incident is caused by this problem.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus . The contact stated that while driving on the highway the vehicle's engine stopped and there was no acceleration and the vehicle gradually slowed down until it was guided to the side of the road. When the vehicle was being refueled it would not start up right away. The vehicle was taken to the dealer haasz automall of ravenna 4886 OH-59, ravenna, OH 44266 330) 296-2866 and they told her that the issue was a O2 sensor and it was fixed for $500. The issue happened again as she was driving away. The vehicle was referred to the dealer nick mayer Ford 6200 mayfield rd, mayfield heights, OH 44124 (440) 449-1000. They said there was a recall for the gas tank and that the vehicle passed the test for any issues. They charged the contact $200 for that test. The issue occurred again and the contact made a complaint with the recall center of either the dealer the vehicle was bought from or the Ford manufacturer. The contact was given a loaner vehicle from the haasz dealer. They took the vehicle to another unknown Ford dealer and they said that the nick mayer Ford should not have closed the recall for the gas tank issue because it was still a problem. The recall status now has to be put back on the vehicle so the unknown Ford can repair the issue. The contact was currently waiting for the manufacturer to put the recall status back on her vehicle. The failure mileage was 41,500. Tf.
Car constantly has issues stuttering when trying to accelerate. It causes shaking in the car and only lightly lessens when the gas tank is over halfway full and/or has a recent oil change. Already had a few parts replaced concerning the cpv because the gas pedal ceased functioning whilst driving on the interstate. I've gotten the recall notice letter but no full solution has been offered yet.
My 2015 Ford Focus has been having stalling issues. My VIN# is on the recall list and the letter that I received from 12/2018 advised that I keep at least half a tank of gas in my car. However, my car stalls even when I keep a full tank. My car also shudders and sometimes even turns off after I fill my gas tank. When my car is about to stall, I see that the tachometer will suddenly fluctuate and then simply drop to zero. This usually happens when I'm about to come to a stop but occasionally occurs when I'm simply driving down the road. My car now stalls on a daily basis. I have called the Ford motor company three times in the last 30 days and told them what is happening and how unsafe it is to drive a car in this way. Each time I am told that they don't know when the parts will arrive to the dealership for repairs, even though my recall letter said by the end of the first quarter of 2019. I took my car to my mechanic and they also stated that my stalling issues are most likely related to the recall. I no longer drive my car on the highway and try to mainly stick to driving on backroads where possible due to fears of stalling and possibly getting into an accident but this is a highly irresponsible situation from Ford. Assistance would be greatly greatly appreciated. I provided the date of 4/6/19 as the date of my car stalling but, as I stated earlier, this happens daily and is unsafe.
The Ford Focus recall for the fuel tank deformation is not accurate. The recall letter we received said to maintain at least 1/2 tank of fuel, but my car has shut down multiple times while driving on the highway and at turnarounds despite having a full tank. The solution to this was previously announced for December 2018 and has been postponed until the first quarter of 2019. Ford needs to be further pressured to find a solution now as this poses a major crash risk.
Nhtsa recall number 18v735 has not been corrected of second recall to fix received. The vehicle gas gauge is reading different to the volume in the gas tank and changes during a given trip. When is this recall going to be fixed??? happens all the time.
Fuel tank deformation: my car stops with no warning at least 2 -3 times daily. It's getting worse and is now harder to restart. This is dangerous and can be deadly. I've contacted my car dealership and the part is not available in order to fix my car. I do not have a second car. I live alone. I need a car to get safely back and forth to work. I'm going to get rear ended before this is all said and done. A Ford spokesperson told me I cannot get a loaner. The owner of the car dealership tells me it's Ford's problem not theirs. Ford tells me I'm basically out of luck and I feel like I'm driving a ticking time bomb. I need help with this mess and I need it now before I'm involved in a tragic accident. At least tell me the status of this recall #18v735. This vehicle stops with no warning weather I'm going down the road, stopping at a red light or going around a curve. It will not give any notice for me to even pull off the side of the road. Stops dead!! like I'm going to be if this isn't fixed. Your next question asks when did this happen. Too many times to put down since it is basically daily and 3 times today.
Car randomly shuts off. No warning is given. Car will shut off while in motion on any city street. Car was at 3/4 tank of fuel when this occurred.
2015 Ford Focus se recall fuel tank deformation - dealer and Ford states parts to repair not available and no estimated time for arrival.
In addition to this, I've begun noticing issues with the steering wheel making a noise. Upon taking it to a mechanic, I was told that the steering rack and pinion had to be replaced and that several other owners of the same model had complained about their steering becoming unusable. Ford should issue a recall for this as well.
I received a notice back in December 2018 about a recall on a possible issue with my car's cpv possible sticking and stalling car. I feel Ford has exceed a reasonable time frame in coming up with a solution to this issue. Making sure I have a 1/2 tank of gas in my car at all times is not an acceptable solution to me.
In my garage would not start half tank of gas. Bought a new battery I didn't need. Then I got letter for recall which said they would contact me in February 2019. I have received no letter.
On your vehicle, the engine may stall due to a stuck canister purge valve (cpv) within the fuel vapor system. A stuck cpv can lead to excessive vacuum in the fuel vapor system, causing the plastic fuel tank to deform, resulting in an inaccurate or erratic fuel gauge indication, inaccurate distance to empty (dte), and/or other drivability concerns. The vehicle may also exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (mil). Safety risk: an engine stall while driving without warning or without the ability to restart, can increase the risk of a crash. I have not received a notice to have this issue fixed.
The car has a known recall about the fuel system the car will randomly just shut off without warning Ford said you must keep the car on a half tank of gas at all times. They don't have the parts but my car is getting so bad very very bad.
Gas gadget (and miles) will read 1/2 tank (200 or so mile) and with no warnings stall (turn off) even once putting gas in vehicle hard to get it started!also air bag light is on (most the time) engine light is on. The rear passenger door has to be "slammed" or closed hard in order to latch. I bought this car as first owner in 2015! very disappointed! I have had this vehicle turn off on me at least 5 times even with my disable son with me, I could have been hit and we could've been hurt or worse!.
The fuel gauge reads wrong by atleast an 1/8 of a tank and and when it says you have 30 miles till empty you might get 10 miles before you run out of gas. It will not give you any warning when it runs out of gas it will start to suppder and then will not start until you put more gas in. And you can smell gas inside the car. It happens while driving or just idoling.
