The contact owns a 2017 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would independently downshift. The contact also stated that the vehicle would jerk and hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal with the "transmission fault service now," warning message displayed on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that on two occasions, the vehicle had stalled while traveling at highway speeds. The first time, the contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer; the second failure, the contact was able to slowly drive the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer replaced the transmission fork on the first visit and updated that pcm software on the second; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure but offered no assistance. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 18v845000 (power train). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
This is getting ridiculous. My Ford Focus not only has wheel issues every other day after replacing the tires several times, but the stuttering problem I've reported several times is still a problem and is getting even worse. No one is helping me with this issue. When my vehicle is at a stop and I press the gas is shakes and stutters. I was told by several shops that Ford has had lawsuits and several recalls over people who had the same exact issue and they refused to work on the car because of this issue. They said there is no part is existence that will fix it because they created it that way. This is bull and needs to be looked at.
Have contacted several people with no solution. Shuddering problem when accelerating from a stop.
Two things happens after I would push on the break the car would accelerate until I pushed on the break again and it shutters and act as if it will stall out when I first start to drive when I first accelerate from any stopped situation.
Broke down wouldn't start overheating would go past 30 took to shop saying it's clutch motors for transmission 1900. 00$.
The car is having trouble switching gears. The car acts as if it did not want to accelerate. Then coming to a stop the car seems to want to still go and stops very hard when it wants to. This is the second time it as done this within months. I have read complaints and there are many more saying the same thing.
On 11/02/2020 I started my car, warmed it up and then started driving. I noticed that the car shook and pulled when switching gears from 1st to second and seemed to want to stall. Also, when breaking the car wanted to keep accelerating. This is the second time this happens in a matter of a year.
1) battery was replaced. Corrosion surrounding battery & all parts of battery. Took the car to inspection <2 months later and corrosion was just as bad. 2) have taken care in every 2-4 months since purchasing new in 2018. Upon acceleration and turning, car shakes and stutters. Each time it is taken in, there is nothing done because "it's a known problem and there's no fix. ".
The back up camera stoped working. When you back up.
Transmission is slipping and hesitates when accelerating.
My 2017 Ford Focus is having issues with jiddering and jumping. It is especially worse when coming to a complete stop and going, it will shake and jump. My car is not damaged I just know the 2015 years are doing the same thing and a recall was issued. It does this jumping like thing regardless city street or highway it's just when the car comes to a stop and goes again. If you ease into it or floor it it doesn't make a difference.
When I go to take off it shudders really bad and trans feels like ots slipping.
Transmission is slipping. It is a 2017 and this shouldn't be happening. Other 2017 Ford Focus' are under recall for this but my particular car isn't for whatever reason.
On several occasions, my car will completely shut off. I then would have to sit a few minutes before I can crank it again. This has happened when I came to a stop at a stop sign and when I had stopped to turn in at a destination. I've also had went to crank my car after not driving for a day and it would not start at first. Then after a few minutes, it started. Each time it happened I got an engine fault message displayed. I have taken it to a dealership and they did not help. They said they could not duplicate the issue so they could not fix.
When I'm driving my car it doesn't matter the speed I used to think it only happened if I was driving on the highway but it happened on my way home a day and I was going 35-40 mph. Basically while driving my car starts to slow down and no matter how much I press the gas it doesn't change gears/ speed up. When this tends to happen the engine fault light will come on. By the time I get to the dealership and turn the car off and turn it back on they say nothing reads on the diagnostic so basically whatever reason the light comes on for doesn't stay in the system so that they can see the issue. This has happened five times within the past two months.
Car will shutter from a stop to accelerate to speed. Scary some times thinking your going to lose speed and get hit. This happens many time, but below you only alow for one date of incident, happens almost everyday I drive.
I was informed that my car is not a part of the recent recall of the powertrain control module as it relates to the clutch. I do not understand why the recall does not include the clutch. Since the car was purchased, we told the service reps upon acceleration, the front end of the car shakes, feels like front end is falling out. This is unacceptable to be told the recall does not cover the clutch. The reason I am told, is because of the plant the car was shipped from. 11/11/19. I requested the services records from the dealership the car was purchased. I travel daily on 301(starke,FL) I-10, 95 to san pablo road 5 days a week to my job. To date, I have not received the information. Please advise. Thank you.
I had the clutch replaced inside transmission 8 months ago because of a hard vibration after I press gas pedal from a stop major of times. This dilemma is still occurring a hard vibration after I press the gas pedal from a stop major of times when I'm in traffic waiting 4 the light to change to proceed on the roadway.
I bought a brand new 2017 Ford Focus and have had it in the shop 6 times for an error code of p0299 turbo/super charger underbooster going off. The engine is losing power when it starts acting up and to protect the car it shuts down the underbooster. I have almost been rearended several times and my very pregnant daugher in law and I were almost t-boned due to the problem as we wete making a left turn out of my neighborhood onto a busy street. When taking it into the shop lou fusz chesterfield has told me several times they were not able to find an issue with the car or duplicate the problem. Because the check engine light would alarm and when you turn the car off the code resets itself. I have asked Ford to work with me to replace the vehicle and they just said they could do nothing because I had 18 months due to the lemon law in missouri.
The car shutter upon starts from stop lights and signs.
Transmission problem starting Jan 2019 with around 10,000 miles. The car takes spells that in vibrates really bad pulling out from stop and upon acceleration from low speeds. I'm being told again by metter Ford in georgia that they can't find any problems with my car to just drive it until it breaks and they will come get it. This car is unsafe to drive. On 7/19/2017 I pulled onto the hwy and the car vibrated so badly it would not go over 20mph. Metter Ford has the car now and just told me again on 7/23/2019 that they can't find any problem. Also saying they don't know of any transmission problems with the 2017 Focus.
My recall has been fixed and not updated on system.
Shutter noise even after Ford has replaced transmission and clutch and problem is still thwre.
Everytime I press on the gas from a slow speed or from a complete stop, the car shakes and shutters until it finally starts to go. I have brought this to multiple dealers who have told me it is the transmission and that we shouldn’t have the transmission replaced because it will just go bad right after because Ford purposely made them this way. My safety is put at risk because as the car struggles to bring itself to speed, I am almost stuck where I am, leaving me vulnerable in intersections for seconds until it catches up. Cars behind me have gotten aggressive and honked before because of how long it takes my car to speed up. They have sped past me, scaring me half to death. I have brought this to individual mechanics and the Ford dealer himself who confirmed it’s the transmission. There were never any warning messages ever. This happens everytime I press the gas from a complete stop or a very slow speed, it started aroudn when I got it.
I received a recall letter in January 25, 2019. The recall 18532 fuel tank inspection. Hallmark Ford in batesville, ms said the inspection passed. On June 10, 2019 the car would not start they towed the vechicle to the dealership with 32,573 miles. On June 12, 2019 I picked the car up from the dealership. The car ran from June 12, 2019 and it stopped in the garage on June 22, 2019. Roadside service picked-up the vehicle on June 23, 2019. 0n June 26, 2019 hallmark Ford in batesville, ms said the car is ready to be picked up. When we arrived to pick the vehicle up at the dealership the vehicle would not start. They had to push the vehicle back inside the service department and parts has not been put back on the vehicle correctly. They tried to jump the vehicle off but it would not start. So I asked for a service vehicle to drive and I am a female and I wanted a car but they gave me a pick up truck. I feel unsafe with my children and grandchildren in this vehicle. There is a recall on the transmission for the engine again. I the transmission for my 2013 Ford Focus had this same recall and I went in to get it fixed by Ford campbell in niles, michigan. They took apart the transmission and expected me to pay $2000 to fix it when there was a recall on the transmission, to begin with. I hate this model and I am sick of constantly having recalls on this model. I think anyone with this model should have their car replaced with a better model that won't have a recall on it and shouldn't have the loan rolled over.
When engine warms up and you are stopped at a light, stop sign, anywhere the car comes to a full stop and you then proceed to hit the gas once it hits around 16-20 mph the transmission front end of the car feels like it starts stuttering and jerking heavily. Once you get over about 20-21mph it stops. This can happen anywhere street, highway, anywhere the car comes to a full stop then goes. Happens everyday once the engine or transmission warms up some.
The car has been in shop three times in 3mths for replacement twice of clutch due to duel clutch transmission. And it was sold to me by carchoice in nlr ar. With a recall of fuel tank. And clutch issues.
My car shudders from a stop. Sometimes on the highway it shakes like my tire are out of balance. Sometimes on the highway when accelerating to pass someone the car somewhat stalls the rpm red line and slowly come back to normal. Sometimes from a stop the vehicle will not respond to my foot on the gas then it will "catch up" . I had my car in for a diagnostic and the dealer told me I needed new clutches and I was just out of my warrenty.
Transmission shutters sometimes upon taking off and accelerating in city or hwy roadways as it shifts 1st to 2nd and 3rd to 4th most notably, also sometimes when trying to shift rpms rev up when shifting as if in neutral o momentarily. Local dealer replaced 1 clutch, 1 week later doing again, took back to dealer said needs 1,000 miles to breakin. As car gets hotter these issues are more noticeable. Slipping bad. 2. 0 se hatchback. Disappointed in Fords transmissions ,4th Ford in family with transmission issues 1997,2002, 2008, 2017.
Both of my clutches went out in early 2019, it wasn't covered under warranty and I had to pay $3300 out of pocket to fix it. Now they're being recalled in August 2019 for this? I should get reimbursed for this.
The brake master cylinder is already leaking. The vehicle only has 27000 miles on it. It should not have gone out for a long while. . . At least 100000 miles.
Car vibrates, loss power sounds like a truck when taking off from a traffic light or stop sign. Notice the smell of gasoline.
When powertrain is warm and vehicle is accelerating from a stop, there is a loud grinding sound, vehicle shuddering and vibration, and resulting engine hesitation as the transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear. Occasionally at highway speeds (55-65 mph) there is a noticeable vibration and shuddering as the vehicle moves into and out of overdrive gears. I have taken the car to the dealership that sold it to me twice with concern about this problem and the service tech says they are waiting for Ford to recall the faulty components, and that this is a common complaint.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the vehicle jerked, shuddered, and stalled. The vehicle would not immediately accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, while operating the vehicle the check engine warning light would remain illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The contact indicated that the transmission had been replaced on three separate occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 46,000.
