2 Battery problem of the 2012 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 07/25/2012

Car lunges when accelerating or attempting to shift thru automatic or sport mode of the transmission. Transmission also temporarily pauses during shifting routine at all speeds, mostly at low speeds. It is like the cpu is overriding what the driver is prompting thru touching of the gas pedal or brake pedal. We've had it in to our local dealerships service department complaining about these conditions, they insist the car is working as designed. If so, Ford is in denial and most certainly appears to be a design flaw. I describe these concerns as if I was having to learn how to drive, all over again. This vehicle is dangerous to drive, safety should always be everyone's number concern. Ditto, the vehicle is not safe either. What is it going to take from Ford to admit and resolve this problem, an injury accident? I hope not. Then, top that off, we bought this specific vehicle for towing purposes. The factory requires the cpu and entire electrical system must be disconnected to tow. Unfortunately, each time the cpu is turned back on (reconnect the negative wire at battery), the cpu thinks it is new, thus, the lunging, sporadic shifting starts all over again. Help. . . Ford won't listen. Thank you.

I had the car towed to a mechanic to see what is causing the problem but the mechanic has not been able to find the problem yet. 2004 Ford Focus. Consumer states transmission gave out with a mileage under 20,000. Consumer requests reimbursement. In July 2009, the vehicle needed a new battery. About a week after the new battery was installed, periodically the cluster lights would make a sound and the lights would blink on and off. It would happen twice in a matter of seconds, but did not happen everyday. The consumer followed instruction on what to do. The situation was a little better, but the cluster blinking, etc still occurred periodically. A week later, as the consumer backed out of her driveway, there were sounds coming from the vehicle and they seemed to get worse. The consumer had the vehicle towed to a transmission shop. Upon inspection, the transmission plate which was located under the engine showed transmission fluid an d excessive amounts of metal fillings. The mechanic showed the consumer the damaged parts where the teeth in the gears were not working properly which caused the metal fillings in the transmission plate.

10 Battery problem of the 2000 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 03/03/2009

I have been stranded several times in my Focus. Hoping that every time I get in my car that today is not the day. The key won't turn in the lock and after so many failed attempts, worrying about the cost of repair. The car sat for two months and killed the battery. Unfortunately the car has become such a hassle to drive. I was late to work and got a point on my super strict attendance policy. This problem has put my employment at risk. The car has also been fixed previously for the same issue by the past owner, I found out. Called the dealer where it was fixed and they told me that I was out of warranty and there was going to be an hefty cost. Why won't Ford stand up, and say they put unreliable parts inside what is suppose to be a reliable car.

While driving in the early morning or evenngs I notice that the abs light and battery light glow on. They come on and go off. Last evening the car was sitting in my driveway with the doors locked and windows up. The dome light came on and went off several times. I looked into the car and found that the oil light and the door ajar light were on when the dome light was off. Also, when the door ajar and oil light are on, the wireless remotes do not work. I have taken the vehicle in for the abs and battery light 2 times with no resolve. I took the vehicle in for service today with video of the dome light, oil light, and the door ajar light.

23 Battery problem of the 2001 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 03/24/2005

I would like to know how many recalls can a car have before it is a lemon! my 2001 Ford Focus has had every problem out there and more than half of them, I have had to pay for. In the 4 years I?ve owned this car, I have had the battery replaced at my cost due to stalling, which turned out to be the faulty fuel pump?s fault, so that was replaced; the struts replaced at my cost after they caused my front tire to explode on the freeway; the bushings worked on 3 times yet the suspension still makes a very frightening noise every time I drive. Imagine my surprise (or should I truthfully say, lack of?) when I received yet another recall notice in the mail.

25 Battery problem of the 2004 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 07/25/2004

Car was purchased new in 4-04 at 4800 miles brakes groved, dealer said no problem; rotors cut & new pad at 10,000 and at 12000 grinding is back, also a flopping rubbing noise in front right which I think is because the rotor were cut too far and now there is too much play between pads and rotor, also electrical problems, lights, dash icons, door locks go on and off even without a key. Gem module & battery replaced but instrument cluster does not work and is on national backorder. No speedometer, no odometer, gas gauge etc. While driving, door locks lock and unlock at will, dash occassionaly flashed on for 15 seconds and then goes out again. Agency thinks it's the instrument cluster but because they can't get one to replace it, we can't be sure. The computer was kicking out codes for equipment that isn't even on the vehicle. Dealer says never saw this problem before.

26 Battery problem of the 2000 Ford Focus

27 Battery problem of the 2002 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 10/15/2003

There is a line that went straight into the engine's intake that has been leaking fluid since 2,000 miles and was inspected by deler who told to me that it was nothing. But the engine case should not have a large leak of fluid that soon. Finally now, they have done something on this and replaced the hose, as it was seen once more and knows of all the times reported. I hope this is just not a easy fix or this now hasn't caused any damange to the inside of the engine itself, as the engine has been in the shop for riding rough. They told me last time that the part of the transmission that was fixed would fix this. I think it is due to the oil leak on the top of the engine case since it was new. A new car should never have a oil leak on a engine case.
