I just bought is car Wednesday the 09th 2020 and on Thursday the 17th I picked my car up from the garage after getting it inspected, I go back to work and leave around 730pm I went to drop my friend off at her house, her house is located on a hill, once I turned the corner and hit the gas, the car backfired and felt like it was going to stall, everytime I stop the car is hesitant to move everytime I try and take off. Also while I was on my way home I had to take a road with a hill and what a mistake I didn't think I was going to make it to the top that's when the check engine light came on.

On 9/2/2020 around 10 pm in michigan I was making a pizza delivery, I pulled into the subdivision where I had to make the delivery, all the sudden my car completely shut off. I couldn't accelerate or brake. I got my car fo saftey away from the houses because my first instinct was safety. I grab my phone to call my boss, I thought my car juat broke down. Then I saw smoke and sparks. I called the emergency services and the cars smoke got darker and the flames got bigger. I was very scared. All my windows exploded and the car melted to ground. By the looks of my photo the fire started near the battery and cables. Ever since that night, I've been scared of fires, hot surfaces, and weary around cars. I'm lucky to be alive but it was very dangerous as the flames reached about 10 feet high. Luckily it did not catch anything near by on fire.

I was driving down a city street and an engine light appeared and instantly power steering stopped while I was in motion. I had to slowly drive the car back to the house which was 10 mins away and park it which obviously was not easy considering the circumstances. Ford stated that there were no recalls on electrical or power steering for this model but I have seen that some other models have had electrical issues and its concerning. Luckily, I was the only person in the car and my children were not present. I am also thankful I was not on the interstate when this occurred as this could have been a potentially dangerous situation. This occurred yesterday, 8/26/2020 in indianapolis, in.
I started my car and began to drive. Two minutes after driving I was going 25 mph on a town street and my transmission fault light came on. I lost power and control of the car, almost getting hit by a large truck.
While driving home (five hour road trip) noises started coming from the steering wheel. Felt like it was is binding and grinding. This only happened when the vehicle was in motion. Happen on the highway on my way home, later on city streets, when turning. I immediately took my car to savannah tire to see what was wrong. The dx was rack and pinion. They could not repair my car. I was told that my car was unsafe to drive. The problem started around the first of July. My steering not working properly on a five year car is a problem, this made my car unsafe for me to drive. At any time my steering gear could have went out causing me to have an accident hurting myself or others. I could have died. Ford has had steering issues in the past on my car. The car has had three recalls. One Ford recalled on there own (steering issues). I had to get this problem fixed on my own paying the amount of $2,457. 70 please for the safety of others recall this, so that Ford can take responsibly for the safety of people who have bought this car.

While driving a fully-charged 2013 Ford Focus bev, the "stop safely now" message appeared, resulting in the steering wheel locking as I slowed the car. Car had difficulty shifting to park once stopped.
Car has 71000 miles and June 3rd 2020, the steering wheel locked up and was hard to turn (like power steering with no fluid), turned the car off for 30 seconds and back on and it worked fine. Stopped for food and turned car back on and a warning came up "steering assist fault". Took it to a repair shop and there's no loose wires or bad fuse. Will require to have the steering motor replaced.
Lost power when accelerating. Codecsaid turbo charge boost; gave # to dealer. They want to chargevmecanother $150 to diagnose & getvthecsame code as my mechanic! I have been calling to check on a recall color a kit that been recalled at least on the last 2 year's models! they looked at my car 1 month after purchase in Jan. 2019 but could find no problem (car was still under full warranty then). When I took car to dealer today, 1st question was whether I had an extended warranty! could not find info by googling it! this site recommended by my mechanic. He has 40 years experience @ a dealer! 👼💕👣 as I tried to accelerated, I was almost hit from behind by a semi on the highway doing 70 mph! risk pulling out onto highway & interstate with no power to accelerate fast enough!!! dangerous!!! 👼💕.

Car jerks during acceleration, cpu was updated at Ford dealership but jerking is persistent, transmission overheating signal appeared, check engine signal appeared, car reverse gear faulty. All happened while car was in motion in a busy street. After car showed the transmission overheating signal it shut down and I was close to getting hit by another car from the rear end as it shut down simultaneously. Called towing service right after because car would no longer drive when on gear.
My car is shutting down and the code p068a and I know someone that has the same car same model year same problems transmission problems car not moving no matter how much you hit the gas and he got recalls on the car my car is having the same problems I will be driving on the road and the car will jump shake than go and it's keeps doing it as well as I can be going 20 mph and my rpm is at 6 not dropping unless my foot is off the gas.
My Ford car engine light is on whenever it rains and my Ford car stalls and I have no idea what recall issues it hash latch door check look at at the sales service Ford dealership!2020.
So for some reason my airbag light will come on and off for a few weeks. When its on my high beams and dont work and when its off my high beams work. Then today , my car battery randomly died on me twice. It started shaking uncontrollably before then. I thought maybe I needed an oil change because I was close to due for one. When I got it they said my oil was fine and their system checked my battery as working fine too. Also when I try to step on my gas sometimes the car with skid before taking off. Im not sure if anyone else has these issues. I've only had this vehicle for 4 months and it's fairly new. It had one owner before me.
The power steering just stops working from time to time. This happened while taking a curve the last time this happened. I have found that numerous people are having this issue with a number of their Fords that have the electronic sterring assist. This happened to me the first time on March 5 this year. (2020) I remember because it was my birthday.
While at a stop light on a busy street my car jerks and then gets quiet, when the light changes to green I hit on the gas pedal and the car does not move, no matter how hard I press, I turn on my emergency lights and after about 3 mins the car finally moves but while driving once again I hit on the gas pedal to increase speed and it does not work, I decide to turn around in a small parking lot and take it home and while doing that the car doesn't reverse, I get it back on the road and it jerks and jumps to the point where I just had to park it and call a ride. The week prior a mechanic told me I just needed coolant after the car jerked and stalled on the highway while I was going 70mph, and now every time I bring the car to a complete stop it doesn't move once it's time to accelerate, I've had it stall in heavy traffic where cars where bumper to bumper and I could not move. All of this after I had the ecu flashed to fix the codes, the entire engine and head gaskets replaced, the fuel pump system and transmission fixed by Ford. So I took it to a mechanic to get it diagnosed and they inform me of multiple problems such as a new thermostat and air bag deployment issues but the main problem is that I need a new transmission again, unfortunately the cars value is not worth what it will cost to fix the transmission again.
For the last couple years, my transmission in my 2016 Ford Focus has stalled upon nearly all attempts to accelerate from a stop. On January, 17 2020 I returned to my car from the library in irvine, CA to discover that upon turning the ignition, the car did not start. I tried a couple more times and my windshield wipers went on one time and stopped, the lights on my dashboard lit up, the media screen lit up and the interior car lights came on. I called aaa, my insurance carrier, despite it not appearing to be a battery issue. The representative stayed on the phone with me after I explained the issue and tried to schedule roadside assistance. I tried the ignition one more time and the car started. A notification on the dash screen appeared reading "transmission service required" and remained on the screen for a second before disappearing. Usually if a dash notification appears, the small icon light will remain lit while I operate the vehicle, this icon light did not remain on. My insurance representative explained that an issue with a transmission would need a tow and it may be unsafe to operate my vehicle on the road. I sat in my car for a minute and noticed my average mpg had changed from 33. 3 to 0. 0. I drove the car home as I needed to leave the location to tend to other parts of my day. I arrived safely to my destination. The following day, the exact same situation occurred when I attempted to start my car and leave for the day. Turning the ignition several times did not work, the windshield wipers came on once, the transmission notice appeared and disappeared and the average mpg was at 0. 0 again. This time, the car notified my that I had 0 miles until empty, despite the gas tank containing well over a quarter fill. The gas notification disappeared and the miles to empty section changed back to 175 miles until empty. I have not driven my vehicle since this occurred.
While driving the lights come on the dashboard and the car stops automatically and the car doesn't turn on for while, then after two hours it turns on and I drive it for another five days and that happens again almost an in crash or I was very lucky for a very bad accident and I called a tow truck to send my car home and since then is undrivable which is parked in my house.
Car was on cruise ctl, then just when increasing speed, was going 30 then when tto 80 before I cancel it, was driving 60 car auto when to 30, transmission service comes up now and ten.
The radio and cd is not working.
It seems as the transmission needs reprogram the body control module with updated software it seems to be stuck on s instead of normal drive and it has problems when accelerate and shift.

While in motion on the interstate my consul gave me a notification that there was a "failure in steering assist" and to pull over safely. At witch time I lost my power steering assist. I pulled off at the next exit which thankfully led to baxter Ford south where they ran a service check the next day. After running the check they determined there was a failure in the power steering control module (pscm). The pscm was re programed to the last known code. They informed me that they did not know how long the fix would last. On the same day after driving 600 miles I received the same message and once again lost power steering assist. Note that the same failure has occurred in the 2011- 2012 Ford fusion, Ford flex, and Ford taurus. All have been recalled except for the 2012 Ford Focus model. I will attach and highlight my invoice from baxter Ford south.
Engine caught fire 2 weeks after service dept at vic bailey Ford replaced. Incident report. Total loss and lawsuit coming if not compensated for property damage and emotional distress. Engine ignited with me in vehicle! service bay released car to me 2 weeks ago. Told them was not fixed for 2 weeks waited on appt. Oil light came on after dropping of daughter to school. Multiple witnesses and videos of fire under car and then blew due to heat source which was all supposedly fixed. I was driving the car and pulled over as soon as oil light came on and I smelled smoke. Turned into nearest parking lot off highway 221, spartanburg SC. Roebuck fire dept responded. Will not driver a vehicle from Ford ever again!.
With no cause or warning, the instrument panel notified me that "hill assist is unavailable". Also, when stationary, there appears to be no power steering when attempting to turn left. This problem stops when rolling forward or reverse. After moving, the problem does not reoccur (stop signs, stop lights, etc). It does, however, occur again when the ignition is turned off, then back on. Both of these problems began at the same time.
I have a 2007 Ford Focus zx5 and have had nothing but problems with the climate control switches and cables I have replaced these several time from the control lever cable, heat control cable they have both broke several times and they will work for a while and then they break or will not work, I recently purchased the whole control switch with heat, climate control, and speed and the cables and the mechanism that it hooks up to and within a week it does not work again, when I go from vent to defrost it will not go to defrost it is on the vents with this being said this is very dangerous especially if your f=driving in bad weather it could cause and accident. I have looked up these issues and all of the older Focuses have this same issue there are tons of videos and forms from other people with this complaint and if you call Ford they advise there is nothing they can do. That is why there are so many accidents because of the manufactures make cars cheap and sell them and do not care about peoples safety. What happens on these cars that the flap door in the dash in front of the heater core is so close that it melts the door so that the flap does not work properly what this should had been made out of is a aviation type aluminum and the housing around it so it does not melt and possibly cause a fire in the dash.

My 2016 Ford Focus se has stalled while driving on the freeway twice in the past two weeks. In addition, the transmission is very jerky and the engine studders and makes loud noises when shifting into 2nd and 3rd gears. The car only has 53,000 miles on it, yet the transmission is defective.
When I hit the brakes the whole car jolts when you go over 40 miles per hour of the steering shakes I've already replaced the safety neutral switch on a transmission now my car will not start it just makes a clicking noise and when it does turn over it immediately stalls out my cigarette lighter also lit a spark in the back of it go off and the brakes sometimes have grate brakes other tines I have to slam the brakes down to get any brakes.

Takara recall there is a "steering assist fault" message that comes randomly. The steering is really tough to move while driving, went to see if they had any safety recalls on it but there isn't. This has happened multiple times randomly while I was driving and is not very safe.
The brake pedal will go to the floor. Based on my research Ford has a problem with the abs brake pump which causes the brakes to go soft. The pedal has a long travel is very sluggish to respond. In my opinion this is a extreme safety issue. I believe Ford should be made to recall and fix the problem.
Car will show "stop safely now" warning and completely shut off all controls at highway speeds. That car does not allow you to move it out of the fast lane or any lane. There is no way to move the car to safety once the warning activates. Very dangerous situation.
Most ability to steer. Wheel locked while driving.
There had been over 30 occurrences of having problems with my car not being able to properly shift into the right gear. I have had the clutch replaced 5 times but it has not fixed the shifting. I've ran into issues at stop signs and stop lights of almost getting into accidents because my car won't properly go into the gear or shift correctly. More recently, 3 months ago; my car turned off and would not run back on. When taking it into Ford they stated they had no reason why this occurred and had no explanation for me.
Car suddenly loses all power while driving down the road and completely shuts down, loses all power for about 15 min to hour and the will suddenly start up again.
Doesn't drive or go in reverse was at a red light it didn't want to drive off almost caused a wreck.
Wray Ford in bossier tested it, said it was a pcm software and that it will cost me 1600 dollars to fix it. I gave Ford the recall number. They told me that my car is over 150,000 miles and that I would have to pay out of pocket. Now this is my second recall on my car, the first recall was the latches, my doors wouldn't stay close, Ford replace all 4 of my doors, and bruce lee told me I had another recall that I needed to get fix but I had to bring it back. Now my car will not start. And Ford is trying to charge me for the recall.
