2 Rear Seat Belt problem of the 2004 Ford Focus

The contact owns a 2004 Ford Focus. While seating in a booster seat in the drivers side rear seat, the child was able to tie the seat belt around his head. The vehicle was taken to the dealership. 3 Rear Seat Belt problem of the 2001 Ford Focus

The contact stated the rear seat belt on the driver's side locked into position while securing a child safety seat. The seat belt failed to release when she tried to unlock it. The seat belt had to be cut to get the child out of the child safety seat. The child sustained minor injuries because the seat belt kept getting tighter. There had been no prior problems with the seat belt. The vehicle has not been inspected by the dealership, and the manufacturer has not been contacted.

The contact states the driver's side rear seat belt does not work properly all of the time. Sometimes it will not buckle, and sometimes it will not unbuckle. The dealership looked at it twice and they could not find anything wrong with it. The manufacturer said they would not replace the rear seat belt because the dealer could not find anything wrong with it. The contact noticed this approximately eight months ago.

The rear seat belt is so short it can not be used. It will lock in child safety mode when seat is laid flat and will not release. I had to unbolt the seat belt to raise the seat up.
