1 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2019

I was driving on the highway when suddenly the vehicle started surging and was losing power last Wednesday 11/13/19. Another time, was with my whole family, the ac, cruise control, and car stereo was on when suddenly the vehicle lost power all of a sudden. I got scared because I did not want to get into an accident particularly on the highway. Ford motors please, do something about my vehicle. Also, the vehicle does not stop when it should every time I apply the breaks. Whether on the streets, the highway, making turns, and at a stoplight, it always goes an extra distance before actually coming to a full stop. The brake pads are all oem from the Ford dealer in my town. I'm always worried that my vehicle will one day give me the slip and get me into a vehicular accident. Ford motors, we only have one vehicle in my family and preventing a possible vehicular accident is something your company can do especially when you have the capability and the means to do so.

2 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2010

Front and rear brakes on 06 Ford Freestyle. I have had to replace the brake rotors on this car or had to have them resurfaced 4 time since I purchased the car. At 39,000 miles they did a TSB on the rear brakes, at 79,000 the replaced pads, resurfaced rotors, and cleaned and lubed the slides and pins, at 85,000 miles they replaced the rear rotors and resurfaced the front rotors again, at 96,905 they replaced the front rotors. Why are there problems with the brakes on these cars? what are thy doing to help the consumer with the cost of repairs?.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2009

Rear brakes on my 2006 Ford Freestyle there was a recall on the rotors and pads and they was repaired by Ford at 40k but now this is the third set with only 91k since then and it time for Ford to do something about it look like this is a on going thing with the Freestyle and 500.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2009

2006 Ford Freestyle rear brakes need replacement again! had brake pads and rotors replaced at 16,000 miles on recall, presently vehicle has less than 29,000 miles and was informed that the brake pads and rotors need replacement again.

5 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2008

Rear brakes failed (pad remaining is 2/32) at 30,000 miles. I had the vehicle in to have a wheel alignment and the tires replaced. The service center advised me to have the rear brakes replaced ASAP.

6 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2008

2006 Ford Freestyle 2 wheel drive. Rear brakes prematurely wearing out. Replaced twice before 28,000 miles. Complete rotors as well. Front brake pads are cracked and rotors grooved. 31,000 total miles on vehicle. Ford says brakes failing due to cars exposure to moisture and that the pads swell causing drag. Not logical and do not believe it. Many others have same issue with Ford Freestyles.

7 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2007

I purchased my 2006 Ford Freestyle awd new, and at 22,388 miles, the rear brakes needed to be replaced. Now, at 30,495 miles, the rear brakes and rotors need to be replaced and a pint of brake fluid needed to be added. I find this totally excessive.

8 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2007

Rear brakes/rotors worn with only 21800 miles on car.

9 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2007

My wife and I took our 2006 Ford Freestyle into the dealer for a routine oil change and checkup. We were informed that the rear break pads were down to 3 percent. I expressed surprise, since we had the car only for one year (18,800 miles), and asked how that could be. The service rep only indicated that it would be due to how we drive. Later that day, I found out there was a TSB issued on that very problem.

10 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2007

Prematurely worn rear brake pads and rotor damage. Ford initially had a recall on the rear brake pads due to faulty material composition. Since the pads were replaced by recall I have experienced a similar failure on two other occasions. The first failure was about 17000 miles, followed by 33000 miles and at 47000. The vehicle is currently at 67000 miles and the rear pads and one rotor have failed again. Front brake pads where replaced as a courtesy by the Ford dealer at 47000 and front rotors have never been replaced. I spoke with the locak Ford dealership regarding the premature wear and they aknowledge that a problem exists but Ford has not recalled or corrected anything. As a result of that conversation I contacted Ford customer care and was contacted by an investigator to discuss the brakes among other problems. The investigator did not aknowledge that the brake wear was a problem and only stated that it was a wear item. When asked why the rear brakes failed at a rate significantly faster than the front brakes the investigator refused to comment.

11 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2007

I have a 2006 Ford Freestyle with 16,000 miles and I have been told that I not only have to replace the rear brake pads but the rotors as well. I researched the internet and there are many other complaints like this for this particular car. This is way too early for brake pads to be wearing out and if it was "normal wear and tear" the front pads should need replaced since 70% of the braking occurs there. Something needs to be done because Ford is unwilling to acknowledge the issue.

12 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2007

Premature wearing down of rear brakes on 2005 Ford Freestyle, vehicle only has 14k miles. Braking performance was diminished. Ford dealer replaced rotors and pads free covered under warranty. Also noticed excessive brake dust on rear wheels.

Ford frestyle 2006 limited awd- rear brakes wore down to metal without warning after only 11,000 miles.

14 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2006

2005 Ford Freestyle rear brake pads worn down into brake rotors at 25,000 miles.
