I paid cash for my car before I realize that the company had over 4 recalls on the car. 1st recall I was in a rental for over a month because of the nakata airbag if deployed would have caused harm to my passenger by deploying glass-like particals. And now 2nd recall is the anti-lock break which claims it can be open causing you to have to breaker sooner possible causing a crash. I am currently not able to purchase a new car and with the Ford settlement haven't heard about the safety of us driving under these conditions.
I was parking in a bettendort, iowa restaurant parking lot when my car surged forward. I applied the brakes, but car would not stop. It left the parking lot, crossed a sidewalk and went onto a street near an intersection. I kept applying the brakes, but car still wouldn't stop. It collided with an oncoming car, crossed over a median and finally stopped on another street across from the intersection.
: the contact stated while parallel parking at 1 mph, the rear passenger wheel rubbed the curb, and the aluminum casting on the rim flaked off, which damaged the tire. The service dealer was contacted, and determined that a smaller rim could not be used to replace the wheel. The contact expressed concern that curbs were 6-7 inches high, and scraping a curb could damage the rim and tire, posing a safety risk on the road. The tire and rim size were: p205/60r16.
