Takata recall. I have received numerous notices from Ford concerning the potentially deadly effects of my passenger side airbag, yet it has been years and it has still not been replaced, putting my passengers in danger every time they ride in my car.
"takata recall" I received notification of a recall on the frontal passenger side airbag. I contacted the dealership several times and was informed the part was not available. The first week of November 2017, I visited the dealership (long lewis Ford) in birmingham alabama, and was told this is strictly an issue with takata bankruptcy and Ford motor company has nothing to do with it. Everything I have read states to contact my dealership and the airbag is to be replaced for free. I did as instructed and the dealership is not complying putting me and my family at possible risk for serious injury or death.
Takada recall - this recall is for my daughter's passenger side air bag. We have been waiting since March of 2017 the date we received the recall notice from Ford, to get the airbag replaced. Everytime she drives that car or has a passenger in her car it is a safety hazzard knowing other drivers and passenger's have died while waiting for the part or parts to be replaced. I am appalled at the lack of urgency on the car manufacturer's and takeda to fix all the vehichles involved in the recall considering the price to pay is with someone's life. This is absolutely unacceptable. Unfortunately for my daughter and many other's affected, the parts will not be available any time soon which is unacceptable.
Takata recall Ford dealer still has no parts to replace airbag, after over a year of waiting. Dash is buckling below the passenger side airbag. This recall needs to be repaired immediately.
Takata recall - I have been waiting over a year for passenger side airbag. I have contacted Ford dealers and have been informed that they don't have airbags available to install. Received letter from Ford motor company about safety recall notice in July, 2016.
Takata recall passenger side airbag safety recall #16s26 can't get any action on replacing the airbag or parts needed. For 18 months, we have not been able to use the front seat passenger side.
The dashboard is bulging/buckling against the passenger side airbag. The bubble appears to be caused by the dash material surrounding the airbag becoming detached or unglued. The position of this bulging and separation cause concern that the airbag may malfunction upon deployment.
When driving on the highway and roadway, such as bridges this summer, my vehicle stalled several times, lost power coming almost to a complete stop, putting my family and I at risk. When I pressed on the gas to accelerate, the engine begin to race, causing the "check engine light" to come on. It also jerked and skidded as I tried to maneuver the steering. To avoid accidents on these occasions, the vehicle had to be pulled over and subsequently, parked. Highway driving was also avoided most of the summer for safety and concern. There is also an issue with the front driver side airbag, as recent as this summer, the seal became distorted, twisted and cracked in the dashboard. Lastly, about 2 weeks ago, the rear door lock on the driver side no longer works, the door must be opened manually from the inside of the car. These are valid vehicle defects and safety issues and Ford must step up and do the right thing for all parties of interest.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while sitting idle, the front passenger side air bag erroneously deployed. The contact was startled, as there was no impact to the vehicle to warrant air bag deployment. The dealer was made aware of the failure and declined to assist. The manufacturer was also made aware of the failure but provided no assistance due to the age of the vehicle. The vehicle was not replaced. The failure mileage was 25,167.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag is exposed through the dash board of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the dash board would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. Wh.
Passenger side air bag bulging out of the console afraid it is going to discharge at anytime and hurt myself or passenger this is dangerous. Also front driver side lock decided to break and only way to exit is to roll down window also has potential to be dangerous. Why is there not a recall on all these dangerous items that seem to reappear on every complaints listed.
I was proceeding through an intersection to turn left. A car that was supposed to stop ran the red light and t-boned me directly in the driver's side. His airbag deployed (front). My 2006 Ford Fusion is equipped with front and side airbags. None of them deployed. I was transported to the hospital with fractured ribs and ultimately, needed pt to restore my neck and left arm rotator cuff to full use and back to normal position. Progressive insurance insisted on repairing the car - total over $17,000 damage to vehicle. No one checked out airbag system and all assume it is working properly. I disagree. The door post where the sensors are located was smashed in, driver's door would not open, cut and rebuilt floor of car.
I almost killed in a near fatal collision on January 15, 2007. I was in a 2006 Ford Fusion sel with front and side airbags. My car was demolished and but for the grace of god I survived despite my failed airbags. I informed Ford as you can see they started to deploy and stick out a little. The photos prove they failed. Ford is making it difficult to follow through and I have the car being held so it can be inspected. I am afraid they are defective and will result in the death of someone. I was flown by helicopter with severe head injuries and from the pictures, you can see the blood spot where my head cracked the side panel directly below where the airbag should have come out. The impact zones on the car are with out question worthy of making the airbag deploy. Please contact me, as I am tired of trying to work with Ford because of my concern for the lives of others, and all they want to do is be obstructive.
