1 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2013

I was driving down the road with cruise control set to 60 mph when the wrench light came on and I had limited power. I then pulled to the side of the road and had to turn the car completely off. Restarted the car and everything was fine so I thought. It keeps happening. One of my friends told me that Ford has been having this problem so I looked it up and sure enough there are many that has had this same problem. I am filling this out in hopes to not only get my vehicle fixed but to also save a life! I have a little one that rides everywhere with me. This is a safety issue that needs to be fixed immediately!.

2 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2013

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag casing lifted and was separating from the dashboard without warning. The vehicle was taken to three independent mechanics, but was not diagnosed or repaired. While driving approximately 60 mph with the cruise control engaged, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle lunged forward. The speed increased to 70 mph without warning. The failure recurred on three other occasions. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000. The VIN was unavailable.

3 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2009

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. While driving 69 mph with the cruise control engaged, the contact tapped the brake pedal and the vehicle accelerated. He depressed the brake pedal again with greater force, but the vehicle accelerated again. In addition, the engine revved and the rpms increased. As a result, the contact rear ended another vehicle. Neither of the vehicles sustained major damage and there were no injuries. Through research, he discovered that this was a common failure and believes that a recall should be issued. The vehicle has not been inspected by the dealer or a mechanic. The VIN was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 21,000.

4 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2008

Accelerated from stop sign and accelerator stuck at half wide open. Had to use brake to stop the vehicle. This car would not decelerate and it was very difficult to stop. No cruise control was on either.
