Transmission slipping.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that there was a squealing sound coming from underneath the dashboard. The vehicle was hard shifting while accelerating or while idling. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to identify the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure persisted and the vehicle was taken to the dealer approximately 8-times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not included in TSB number: 10052190 (power train). The approximate failure mileage was 143,300.
Tl the contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. While driving various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard, but it took numerous attempts to stop the vehicle. The contact pulled over and had the vehicle towed to waldorf Ford (2440 crain hwy, waldorf, MD 20601, (301) 234-7591) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. An independent mechanic diagnosed and repaired the master cylinder. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 36,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. While driving 30 mph, the wrench warning icon illuminated "powertrain fault". The contact depressed the brake pedal and it traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle was eventually able to stop and pulled over to the side of the roadway. The vehicle was towed to odaniel Ford Mitsubishi (631 Lincoln hwy w, new haven, in 46774, (855) 973-4169) where it was diagnosed that the electrical throttle body and abs failed. The electrical throttle body was replaced, but the contact was informed that there was no repair for the brakes. The contact's brother retrieved the vehicle from the dealer after the repairs. While driving 30 mph and approaching an intersection, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to engage. The vehicle was able to come to a stop after traveling through an intersection without a crash. The vehicle was not taken back to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact did not feel safe driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that there were no recalls. No assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 196,625.
The transmission codes that cynoilod a was bad had it replaced and flushed (check engine light and wrench was on) had it replaced went to dealership to update the on board computer did not solve the problem shifting and the rmp did not go back to normal after further inspection from Ford dealer they said the transmission was bad and would be more than the car was worth it would be a total lose thank you Ford.
Was not notified of any recalls on this vehicle when I purchased it. I had an accident last month and the brakes locked up and I couldn't control the steering and went careening off the roadway into a stationary sign and tow up the passenger side of my vehicle. The passenger air bag never deployed. Nor the driver air bag.
The ptu on my car went out last month. When I called the dealer to order it I was informed by the parts department to look into recalls because there is a known issue. I started looking and there is a recall for this particular ptu on the edge, flex and some Fusions. . . But not for mine. . . I have called Ford and asked why and I was given no explanation. This unit was manufactured by Ford to be a non-serviceable lifetime unit. . . Obviously it is not. They have admitted that there is a problem and even replaced some of them. . . Why is mine not covered when it is the same exact parts as the others? I have also found that a class action law suit is being filed over this issue.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle while been driven will go very slow, it would not accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the diagnosis was that the external throttle body was damaged and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,600. Bp.
Why isn't there a recall on the brakes and transmission, our brake pedal went all the way down to the floor on a few occasions, then it seemed fine, and it would happen again, there have been numerous complaints on this issue, we had to pay $2,700 to have Ford fix it, and the transmission jumps, when you step on the gas the car lurches and this is going to cost a lot of money that we don't have.
Cracked dashboard that exposes the airbag. Power train coil on damage.
In the driveway and turned the car on. The check engine light and wrench light came on and there was no throttle and the engine took a while to kick on. The scan tool said error code p2112 throttle actuator control system stuck closed.
My 2008 Ford Fusion se 2. 3l, 5-speed manual, has shut off on the highway with no warning at highway speeds of 65+mph. The engine would suddenly lose power and stall and I would have to coast and attempt to control my car at speed until I could get the engine restarted. I was unable to just turn the key forward to restart the engine and had to turn the key backwards all the way into the "off" position before attempting to restart the engine. The engine would not always restart on the 1st or second attempt. This happened to me twice over a 2 week period at high speeds before suddenly worsening and causing my vehicle to stall and not run in idle or randomly at any speed. I took my vehicle to a Ford dealership where they diagnosed it as a faulty throttle body (engine fault codes included p0128, p0607, p2107) but refused to cover any portion of the repair despite the vehicle having only 35,500 miles and numerous complaints about similar safety issues on similar vehicles/components.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that when putting the vehicle into reverse, the vehicle jerk violently and made an abnormal sound. The contact mentioned that the wrench warning icon illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,000 and the current mileage 61,374.
I was driving on the highway at approximately 60 mph, when my car started to lose speed. I was on an incline at the time which made it worse. I almost caused an accident. Afterwards I pulled over. My wrench light came on. Indicating that there is a problem with the throttle body. My car when in to limp mode. After doing extensive research on this matter, I did find that there has been a recall for the throttle body replacement in north carolina. I did call Ford and mentioned that to then. They had me give them my vehicle identification number and told me that it does not apply to my vehicle. I do not understand how this can be a safety recall for some, but not for all.
I was driving down the road and the wrench sservice light came on. I wasn't familiar with what that light meant. When I got home I looked in the owners manual for suggestions. I got new gras, made sure the gas cap was tight, and waited for 3 cold starts to see if it would go off. Then we went to leave bin the car and vit wouldn't go, even with the decelerator pushed all the way down. I called a Ford dealership to have it towed there. In doing research this appears to be common with Ford Fusions and I feel there should be changes or a recall. My research told me what was wrong before the car left the driveway as the issue is so searchable on the internet!.
I started my car and it sounded & seemed normal. However, after driving less than 2 miles, my engine suddenly decelerated and the rpms dropped dramatically. I tried to accelerate and it would not increase speed. I was able to get off the road safely. I had to have my car towed. The mechanic determined that the problem was due to a faulty power train control module which impacts the ignition coils and the estimated cost of repair is $2100! one of my ignition coils was melted. Ford has issued a technical service bulletin on this issue, however, they do not deem this a safety issue! cars that just stop running or decelerate quickly is most definitely a safety issue. I can think of many scenarios where this issue would cause injury or perhaps even death. Had I been on a freeway or driving at a greater speed where there was more traffic, I could certainly have ended up in an accident with another vehicle. I researched this concern and found that I am not alone and there have many others affected by the same exact situation. Ford is of the opinion that this should be the responsibility of the car owner and they do not hold themselves accountable. I understand how warranties work and I realize that cars age. However, this issue has nothing to do with wear and tear or age. This is a faulty piece of equipment that is causing a safety issue when it hampers a vehicle's ability to continue in a forward motion at a normal rate of speed. Any help you can provide on this issue would be appreciated.
Car began running rough and there was no power in the throttle. The problem was diagnosed as an issue with the throttle body or actuator.
Auto transmission stopped shifting into higher gears. Only 1st and reverse. Had a shop try to repair it. Now it shift from 1st to second and then to fourth. Still no 3rd or 5 th gear? spent over $ 600. 00 so far.
On an interstate merge ramp, the Fusion suddenly lost power and felt like it would stall. Wrench light came on and engine surged with acceleration, but never got over 40 mph. When I took my foot off the gas pedal, it felt like the car would stall; it lurched and managed to keep going very slowly. I feared for my safety on this very busy interstate. The car lurched and surged until I could get to a safe stopping point.
Power train control module broken, 3 months after I purcahsed it. Made my pregnant wife stranded during the winter. Ford did nothing to help about it. $1500 bill and left my wife stranded in the middle of the road waiting for cars to hit her. Thanks for nothing Ford.
Used vehicle purchase 2 days ago, my husband and I drove the car on a test drive and it went well, after all the papers were done we got in the car and went to go eat and when we came out to leave and I tried to pull the into r and it would not budge so my husband tried to drive instead and he couldn't pull it in to r and this happend we immediately called the dealer and they said come back and they tried for about 20 minutes and asked we bring it back tomorrow, so we did and they said OH we adjusted the automatic transaxle linkage it won't happen again and here again I went to the pharmacy today and tried for 32 minutes to put the car in gear. In any gear and I couldn't I got so upset I called my husband and asked him what to do if I couldn't get it in gear and he told me try again for a bit and if I still couldn't do it, call a wrecker to pick it up. I have spoken to numerous owners in the last few days on the Ford owners forums and it is atrocious just how many times I have been told they have had issues like this too. Come on I have trouble paying for a car I may or may not be able to drive!.
