Advanced power steering light came on and my steering wheel was hard to turn. The body underneath came apart, and the transmission recall is being handled by my attorney.
Couldn't move steering wheel all of a sudden, drove to store and when I got back in my car, I couldn't turn the wheel and had to get it towed. Nothing happened or changed on the way to the store. When car was first bought, steering would lock up while driving on highway and almost caused accidents multiple times.
All out motors in clio michigan knowingly sells extremely dangerous and unsafe vehicles, takes advantage of young woman with [xxx] son and takes every dollar of hers for a car that is far from driveable after only a c month or two and has been highly unsafe and unreliable and unpredictable since purchase, dealer refused to properly respond to situation and harassed the mechanic who inspected it after purchase when dealer was confronted about safety issues. Every time there was any miniscule imperfection in the road, I would lose control of steering and the car would move into other lanes, unable to immediately correct it. Missing lug nut due to stud snapping off, when trying to replace it, all studs also broke off. All bolts in front caliper and caliper brackets also broke off, along with rear caliper snapping 3 days after vehicle purchase. Car is not drivable after having it 3 months. Multiple times while driving on highway the car would malfunction and lose power or steering wheel would lock up. These problems easily could've resulted in death and I have a [xxx] son who is always with me. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Driver side interior door handle stopped working. Unable to open the door from the inside. This is very dangerous if there was an emergency need to exit the vehicle. This happened when I stopped to buy gas and was unable to get out when I turned off the car.
Hello, my name is mya owens. Recently I bought a Ford fuision 2010. I am pretty familiar with cars so I understand the commonly routine of taking care of a car. It's been only 30 days. The first first incident that happened on the parkway my car shut completely down. I got it to work back up but then I got a mechanic to do a tune up. Everything went smooth until I drove about 3,000 miles into the car & it told to me check the engine oil and the brakes. By the time I went to start my car up the lighting slowly faded away. Eventually the car shut off completely and almost rolled down the hill. I immediately put the car into park and put on the emergency brakes. Now the car completely shut down. I replaced the spark plugs and everything. I've been reading about recalls on the model of the Ford Fusion 2010. I would like to see if I could either get it fixed or possibly a letter to get a new or similar version from the car models dealership. I've also invested so much money into fixing this car and it just seems to be falling apart. The damage was all of a sudden. There was also an oil leak.
The passenger door latch broke on the inside making the locking mechanism not work or the outside latch . I have seen a recall on other models and makes for this but not mine .
Driver's door will not open from inside. The door can only be opened with the outside handle. This happened while trying to get out of the vehcile in a parking lot.
While driving on the highway the left driver side front end of the Ford Fusion hit the right rear/side of another car on the highway after being cut off by another car weaving in & out of traffic at a high speed. The Ford Fusion was designated "totaled" by the body shop and insurance adjuster due to the extensive damage. The airbags never deployed. The airbags on this Ford Fusion were part of the airbag recall and were replaced by the Ford dealership within the last 2 years so they should have been in good working order but they never deployed. Very concerning.
My wife was driving the car and the driver's side door spontaneously opened and upon return would not latch. Luckily she was only in the driveway. I looked online and this seems to be a common problem on this car.
Driver side door handle will not unlock from inside car; can only open driver's door from outside.
Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the rear driver side door hancle did not open. Also stated that this was the fourth time the door hadles had to be replaced ( different doors ) by the dealer Ford of monroeville, 3696 william penn. Hwy, monroeville, PA 15146. The vehicle was not repaired this time. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate fail;ure mileage was 104,479. Bp.
The driver side door latch is broken and is not latching which means the door is not closing. I discovered this when parking my car, exiting like I have done the entire time I've had my car, coming back, opening the door, and going to close it and it not latching. I thought something was in the door frame preventing it from closing but upon looking closely, the latch is freely moving and not locking with the door frame. I looked this issue up to see if it was an easy fix (which it is not) and there have been other Ford recalls for this same issue which my car is not covered under. There have also been multiple other Ford customers with the same issue with all different makes and models that have that also were not covered under the warranty. This is a huge safety issue that many Ford owners are dealing with but only select few makes and models were covered under the recall. Now I have to bring my car into the dealership and pay a huge bill to get this fixed even though this should have never happened and it was nothing I did. I don't have many issues with my Ford, which I consider myself lucky for. But this hazardous issue needs to be resolved. I spoke with Ford and they said they cannot do anything for me since I'm not covered under the recall.
The inside door handle broke was unable to open the door, the inside door assembly was broken also. . . Drivers side also the window door motors malfunctioned window would go up and down not knowing what direction and also change directions disallowing window to be opened or closed.
Driver side door does not open from outside the vehicle. Outside door handle does not work nor move. This is dangerous for the driver and passengers: because car has "bucket style" front seats. Driver cannot move from front passenger to/from driver side seat. To enter auto, driver enters front passenger door, reaches over the center console to driver inside door handle, opens driver door from inside, exits auto, enters (the now open) driver side door. In unsafe neighborhoods this puts the driver and his passengers in unnecessary danger. This driver is unable to drive the car with the driver side door unlocked, so in event of a crash/accident, the driver cannot be removed, from the crashed damaged car, the broken driver side door handle cannot be opened by a first responder/rescuer. The driver is in unnecessary danger. The local Ford dealership, examined the driver's door and reports: "outside door handle is stuck, will not open. Pulled door panel off and found that lock and rod from handle to latch has rusted, and rotted, causing rod to break in half, rod needs to be replaced. Part has been ordered and should be here by 12-16-2019. " in the past, the driver side inside door handle has been repaired three (3) times due to faulty mechanisms. There is concern that this extra use of the inside handle may again break the inside handle, trapping the driver inside the car, with no way to exit. The local Ford dealership: grieco Ford of fort lauderdale 1333 n. Federal highway fort lauderdale, FL phone: 1. 954. 390. 6530 I paid: $139. 95, on 12/11/2019. I was told that to repair this dangerous auto condition will cost an additional $373. 00. Total cost to repair dangerous auto condition is $512. 95 Ford corp. Should reimburse customer for these unexpected costs, $512. 95. 4 properly working auto door is a safety issue.
Sun roof. . Arms that are holding window are made of plastic and are breaking down. . . Afraid this will cause window to fly off cars and seriously hurt someone.
The door handle locking system on the driver's side broke on my 2010 Ford fustion my car was stationary in a garage. I unlocked driver door, sat in driver seat and suddenly door latch is broken and I'm unable to open the door from the inside. I had to roll down the driver window in order to open the door from the outside. I noticed that the door no longer locks either. Brought car to my dealership who said no recalls were available so I had to pay 182. 45$ to get my door latch fixed. This is a safety concern and there should be a recall because I was no longer able to park and lock my car. Please issue a recall for this part. Not impressed with Ford at the moment.
1- driver side locked handle broken won't locked, 2-check fuel fill inlet and engine light turn 3-power steering problem.
I was involved in a direct hit accident at approximately 50-55 mph. Neither of the front airbags deployed in the car.
Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that was unable to open the frontal driver driver side door did not open . The vehicle was taken to the dealer conway heaton inc Ford, 810 n 3rd street, bardstown, ky 40004, they diagnosed the vehicle as driver side door handle assembly failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 107,214. Bp.
The driver side front door lock and handle to open the door stays out. It will not lock or open from the inside, have to roll down the window and open it from the outside and us my key to lock that door only. The rest of the doors lock with the automatic key lock. I was in park, with the car running and tried to open it and it would not open from the inside. ## VIN passed ## Ford Fusion 2010 ##.
Door handle especially drivers inside latch has broke twice leaving me unable to exit the car. Also will not allow you to lock the car. Happen in 2015 and now 2018.
The interior door latch on the drivers side no longer opens the door. You must roll down the window and reach outside the vehicle to open the door. This occurred June 2018 as I was attempting to get out of my car at my home. While doing research on this problem I noticed that many Fusion owners have had this same problem. Additionally, other Ford vehicles(2013-15 Ford cmax & Ford escap, 2012-15 Ford focus, 2015 Ford mustang & Lincoln mkc and 2014-16 Ford transit connect) have a door latch recall but not the Fusion. It is definitely a safety issue when you are unable to open the car door in a normal way.
The drivers door handle was fixed that was covered by a recall. However, now both front door handles are broken and the waterford, michigan dealeership where we purchased it says the cost is about $140. 00 each to fix. How can a recall be completed when the same problem keeps reoccuring?.
My driver side door is no longer operational from the inside. This happened while I was parked. You can roll down the window (if it's not frozen shut) and reach to the outside to unlatch from the handle. This creates a safety issue.
I had only had my car for 6 months before 3 of the 4 interior door handles broke. Now, in order to get out of the car, I must put the window down, reach out and open the door, and then put the window back up. This has also affected several coworkers that have 2010 Ford Fusions as well. They appear to be made very cheap using plastic. That isn't going to work and need it to be more reliable for longetivity purposes. This should be a recall if it hasn't already been. First, the metallic covering partially came off 1 of the handles causing it to cut my hand. The other 2 handles are dealing with the spring breaking.
I have two complaints. 1) takata recall, Ford sent me the notice about 3 years ago and Ford recall and Ford mechanic shop said that Ford had not made any replaceable air bags these past three years. I just called this week. 11/2/17. Again no airbags had been made. The vehicle could be effected with driving or stationery. 2) door latch stop working and there was a recall on the Ford cars and many recalls that dated back in 2015, but not on the Ford Fusion 2010? why? many owners had complained about the Ford Fusion cars. See:last week's recall covers 389,585 2012-14 Ford fiesta and 2013-14 Ford Fusion and Lincoln mkz cars. Ford says the door latch in these vehicles may experience a broken pawl spring tab, which typically results in a condition where the door will not latch. If a user latches the door, there is potential the door may unlatch while driving. Ford is aware of two allegations of soreness resulting from an unlatched door bouncing back when the customer attempted to close it. Dealers will replace all four door latches. In March, Ford recalled 213,000 2011-13 explorer suvs and police interceptor utility vehicles in north America because the spring that controls the interior door handles may prevent the door from latching completely. Ford said it was a different issue than the new recall. In January, Ford recalled 204,945 2010-13 taurus, Lincoln mks and police interceptor. Nhtsa upgraded an investigation into hundred of complaints of doors failing to latch or flying open into nearly 486,000 2011-13 fiesta cars. Nhtsa received 207 reports related to the problem, with 65 doors opened inadvertently while the vehicle was in motion. This is a serious safety concern as far as I can tell. Fusion 2010 should have been recalled for sure! 225 dollars to replace at the dealership because Ford "doesn't just sell the spring you have to replace the entire unit. ".
Driver side door will not open from inside. I tried to open the door from the inside and something snapped and I was trapped in my car until I figured out that I could roll down the window and open it from the outside handle. The car was stationary in my garage when it happened.
Driver door latch spring broke. Drivers door opened while driving on interstate. I-4 in tampa florida. At speed limit of 70 mph. Had to hold door shut with hand till I could get off road safely. Ford would not cover under present recall of this problem. On newer models. Costing me almost $400 for the repair.
My 2010 Ford Fusion has a " power steering assist fault" msg as well as a "service advance trac". These both came on 8 days ago (8/18/2017), within a few minutes of each other. The "power steering assist fault" msg came on when I started my car up. I was able to drive the car, but after about 2 miles or so the "service advance trac" msg came on. I had a diagnostic done that day and no faults came up even though the messages were still displayed on dash screen, and I still had no power steering. I have no power steering at this time. Steering is extremely difficult. I have been in contact with the dealership, but as yet, my calls have not been returned. Additionally, I called the national Ford hot line and got no where. This is a huge safety concern and needs to be addressed and repaired immediately. I am sure that my vehicle is not the only 2010 having this problem. I understand that there is a nation wide recall on numerous vehicles with this exact same issue.
Purchased used 8/1/14, was not informed of any recalls or issues by dealership. April 2017 after learning by searching on google that there was a recall on fuel tank/system. Spoke with Ford corp. Which emailed the recall process step by step, was influenced to mention the throttle body which was covered under ext. Warranty. Took to dealer in tucson, az jim click Ford. After 3 hours of possessing vehicle I received information that fuel tank/ system and throttle body were not affected and no work was required and even after agreement by Ford corp. Later that week plugs had been pulled nd inspected, only one plug was no good (had them replaced in December by close family friend who owns mechanic shop 40+ years. Employees left box of approx 50 new jim click coffee mugs, foot prints on passenger door, stole debit card, threw girlfriends underwear and bras out of bag and spread out in trunk.
Driver side door flies open while driving.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While the vehicle was parked, the front driver's side door handle fractured from the inside. As a result, the contact had to open the door from the outside in order to exit the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the door handle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to part unavailability. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 64,000.
The door latch has a broken spring tab potentially resulting in a condition where the door will not latch. This also prevents the driver from opening the door to get out as teh door handle no longer functions. This broken condition is at all times of operating the vehicle. Based on an internet search this is a widely common safety defect for 2006 - 2010 Ford Fusions, Mercury and Lincoln sister models.
Takata recall- my car stalls and doesnt turn all the way. If I slow down or stop the car will give out I got a diagnostic done three times and three different things came up and I got all the fix but it still do the same thing I see other people that have the same car have the same problem I was on the expressway when this did this this is very dangerous.
The interiod driver's door latch has stopped working. I cannot open the door from the inside. I can pull the latch handle, but nothing happens. I have to roll down the window and open the door from the outside. My 2010 Fusion has 86,000 miles. This is a major safety concern in that I am basically trapped inside the vehicle.
