The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the front driver side interior door handle did not work when he attempted to open the door. The contact stated that the outside door handle worked normally. The vehicle was driven to bloomington Lincoln (1001 clover drive bloomington, minnesota 55420) where it was diagnosed that the interior door handle fractured and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. When the contact was exiting the vehicle, the door handle was pulled and an abnormal cracking noise was heard. The contact stated that the door failed to latch. As a result, the driver had to hold the door closed while driving. Drivers door release handle broke internally. Parts is plastic and is brittle in cold weather. This is second time it has broken. Major issue is that driver cannot exit door in a emergency and requires jumping over console to passenger side.

I was a passenger in a 2010 Ford Fusion and was in the front passenger seat and another person was in the right rear passenger seat. I was exiting the car and because the door had opened to far, I used my hands to pull myself out of the car. At the same time, the passenger in the right rear seat was in the process of opening their door and exiting. Due to the close proximity of their door edge (approximately 1/16 inch) and the car itself, a finger tip on my right hand was completely amputated when the door was opened. I was taken by ambulance to hospital where surgery was performed.

A crack appeared on the driver side door interior handle. The door would not lock. Door can be opened at high speed and can also be opened when locked with the key fob. I am concerned the latch handle will break and I will not be able to open the door from the inside. The car cannot be secured against potential theft. This is a serious manufacturing issue and could be easily corrected through a recall.

Failure Date: 04/03/2013

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that all four door handles failed to open. The contact had to pull hard on the driver side lock in order for the door to open. The contact took the vehicle to a collision center twice, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 50,000.

Failure Date: 12/01/2011

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle decelerated abnormally. The contact stopped the vehicle and shifted into park as the vehicle began to shake vigorously and stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics and stalled a second time on while in route. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure because the computer was not providing a failure code. The failure recurred three times. The third time, the vehicle was towed to the dealer and the technician advised that the computer was not reading a failure code but the electronic throttle body would likely have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000. Updated 03/02/lj the consumer stated the rear window, weather stripping on the doors, and door handles had to be replaced. The consumer stated there have been numerous problems with the transmission. Updated 03/08/12.

13 Door problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2011

Driver side interior door handle plastic separated and handle cracked. Unable to lock door without having to hold handle in. Was able to open door from the interior with great caution. Handle continued to crack all the way through and had to be replaced.

14 Door problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2010

2010 Ford Fusion sel. Customer writes in regards to continued transmission problems. The consumer stated the transmission would slip harshly and hesitate on acceleration. The recall repair did not correct the transmission problems. It was determined that the valve body and solenoid body were defective. Also, one of the tires was leaking air, there was an issue with the traction and brakes. There were noises coming from the front of the vehicle. The steering wheel would not lock into place, the cd player did not work at times, the driver side visor did not stay in place, the gas over flow tube was inoperative, the vehicle would pull hard when the brake was applied. The rear driver's side door had to be slammed extremely hard, in order to close it. The driver's side seat belt was backwards. The passenger side windshield wiper dragged on the windshield and the vehicle would sometimes surge on its own. Each time the consumer went to the dealer about certain problems, she was told no problems were found.
