I was driving down the highway on the interstate at a speed limit of 60mph in motion on my way home and it started getting hard to turn my steering wheel which made it hard for me to make a left or right turn when I was exiting the exit. The service power steering popped up on my dashboard and advance trac. So then it ended up changing to say service power steering now which it made it very hard and difficult to even be able to drive my car period. I got a estimated of $1811. 94 for my car to be repaired at wynne Ford at 1020 w. Mercury blvd hampton va 23666 and for me to get a estimate of that price I can't afford to pay that it's like buying a used car at that price. I just find it hard to believe that it's a recall on a 2011-2012 Ford Fusion but not a 2010 when the same exact defect is going on with that same carjis a different year. Which basically I would be paying to get a electrical power steering rack and pinion in order for my car to be able to drive and function correctly.
I am having problems with several things. Air bag was recalled so I took it to the Ford dealership and they replaced it but the light won't go off, after getting my car back from the dealership the radio/speaker and seat warmers went out, soon after the heat/ac went out, the rear driver side tail light goes out very often, plate lights don't work, visor lights don't work. They're are too many issues that started at the same time, so I think it must be electrical. Thanks.
Purchased used 8/1/14, was not informed of any recalls or issues by dealership. April 2017 after learning by searching on google that there was a recall on fuel tank/system. Spoke with Ford corp. Which emailed the recall process step by step, was influenced to mention the throttle body which was covered under ext. Warranty. Took to dealer in tucson, az jim click Ford. After 3 hours of possessing vehicle I received information that fuel tank/ system and throttle body were not affected and no work was required and even after agreement by Ford corp. And the sales rep. That no diagnostics fee would be charged. I spent 3 hours arguing that it was covered by warranty and recall. Found out later throttle body is recalled issue, that's why ext. Warranty. Issues with fuel/ air intake required inspecting throttle body. Discovered extensive carbon build up and the fuel tank had evidence of rusting. Jim click Ford of tucson damaged vehicle from driver side to pass. Side in center of vehicle including main frame. Changes to the sync and computer became noticeable due to upgraded options that had never been usable. Ignition switch had been removed and replaced with cheap rubber, lighting no longer existed( light for on/off, acc), was told spark plugs and boots needed to be replaced and they had begun work (without permission). Later that week plugs had been pulled nd inspected, only one plug was no good (had them replaced in December by close family friend who owns mechanic shop 40+ years. Employees left box of approx 50 new jim click coffee mugs, foot prints on passenger door, stole debit card, threw girlfriends underwear and bras out of bag and spread out in trunk.
The electric seat motor will no longer raise or lower the front half of the seat. This is regardless of if the vehicle is in motion or not.
Front passenger seat recall it can slide forward and jam lock when braking hard and can not be unlock/jammed to move back away from dash. While driving quick sudden slam on brakes.
As my wife was driving to work, approximately a dive minute ride to work. She noticed that the heated seat where very hot. She pulled the car over to find a small burn mark in the seat and on her butt.
The inside door handle has a cable attachment to it, when you pull the door handle it moves the lock and the door opens. Today, mine broke. The reason for contacting you, I called the Ford location to check for repair, the parts man told me that this door handle problem was the no 1 problem for Ford motor cars. Seems to me that they would address the problem, would you think that $150. 00 cost for replacement might be the reason? sounds like add on sales, does not sound right, but the numbers are millions.
Had several passengers complain that the passenger heated seat was getting too hot and burning their rear end. They would have to turn it off. The a couple of days later my daughter went to turn the heat on her seat and the seat would not turn on. The light would turn on for a few seconds and then go right back off. We have checked the fuses and made sure that the seat is properly plugged in but the passenger seat will not heat. After checking the complaints on this page it appears that this is a common problem and that Ford should do a recall to fix this problem.
The occupant weight sensor failed in the passenger side seat, responsible for air bag deployment. The canister purge valve got stuck causing stalls when starting after refueling and stalls off the line starts putting the car/passengers at risks during turns crossing oncoming traffic, started at 56,000 miles.
My heated seats are super defective. I have only used my heated seats a handful of times. Every time I turned it on it would get so hot it was burning my butt, literally. I even put a seat cover on my seat and folded a blanket 4 times (which made 8 layers of material) and it was so hot burned me through all of the layers. I kept smelling a burning smell, looked and there's is a burn mark through the seat, burnt a whole in my seat cover, and started burning my blanket. That is extremely dangerous, could cause a serious burn and or an accident. And it damaged the leather seat, seat covers, and a blanket which is all money out of my pocket. I cant even use the heated seats now because I will get burned. This needs to be fixed and addressed ASAP.
Was driving in morning. Turned on the heated seat. Got so hot that it burned my rear. Tried to turn it off but would not turn off. Could smell seat burning. Had to pull over and get out. Turned off vehicle and let seat cool down. Started car and seat no longer heats. Looked online and forums say this is a common problem. This is a safety issue. Could cause accidents big time!.
My drivers seat features all power controls. The incident is that my drivers seat lost control of the up and down motion. When you press the button on the seat to move the lower section of the seat up or down, it makes noise (like the motor is operating) but the seat does nothing. After careful inspection, I found out that Ford uses plastic gears under the seat and one of the plastic gears has a broken tooth. This causes the seat motor to run but not actually turn the gear to move the seat in either direction. This gear set is not replaceable or serviceable and the owner must either replace the bottom rails of the seat or purchase an entirely new seat - both are costly repairs for not even having 70,000 miles on the vehicle at that time.
2010 Ford Fusion head rests really hurt the neck and shoulders after any period of driving. Ford needs to replace with better ergo head rests.
The head rest on my new 2010 Ford focus (not a Fusion as noted) protrudes forward beyond the top of the seat causing my head and neck to be pushed forward into an unnatural position with my spine. This, in turn, is a very unsafe driving position to be in due to misalignment of my head, neck and spine and causes unnecessary fatigue, neck pain and headache . It is especially awkward and difficult to drive and look toward the right rear of the vehicle while being forced into a "crook neck" position by the forward protruding head rest. I purchased to vehicle new under the cash for clunkers program and without driving it. This was a big mistake as I got myself into an apparent unsafe vehicle. After driving it for only 40 miles, I experienced neck pain. My investigation revealed that the forward protruding head rest was the problem. I promptly notified the dealer where I bought it and was advised by my sales person that several other people have also complained about these head rests. I then notified Ford motor company customer services of the problem and was advised, "the head rests are made to our specifications". I indicated that this is a safety issue and suggested that they do something about it before they have another firestone tire type of problem to deal with. The company rep. Then proceeded to hang up on me. As a remedy to my complaint. The dealer (service manager) removed the head rests from the front seats of my new car and suggested that I, "go to a salvage (junk) yard and try to get replacement head rests that do not cause the problem". I reminded him that I had just turned in a '93 aerostar that did not have the problem and he replied, "we just sell the cars - we don't build them". With the head rests removed, I now have no protection from whiplash which is another safety problem. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate these head rests (ASAP) to prevent injury, death or property damage. A recall is needed here. Thank you.
