My steering wheel keeps locking up after I had the air bag recall taken care of.
Multiple wheel studs have snapped in half, almost losing my wheel completely. This happened on all 4 wheels.
This vehicle has had multiple incidents in which the wheel studs on the front wheels will break off while driving. The last time this occurred, I noticed that 3 of the 5 wheel studs on the right-front wheel were broken off. When this was discovered, I contacted a Ford dealer and they said that there was no recall for this issue and didn't have any idea on how this had occured. I then contacted the last shop that had worked on the vehicle. They confirmed that the lug nuts were tightened using a torque wrench at the proper specifications. I have replaced several wheel studs and lug nuts on this vehicle in the past after they were found to be missing. The vehicle exhibits no vibration or warning signs while driving. This could have resulted in the wheel falling off while driving without warning.
All out motors in clio michigan knowingly sells extremely dangerous and unsafe vehicles, takes advantage of young woman with [xxx] son and takes every dollar of hers for a car that is far from driveable after only a c month or two and has been highly unsafe and unreliable and unpredictable since purchase, dealer refused to properly respond to situation and harassed the mechanic who inspected it after purchase when dealer was confronted about safety issues. Every time there was any miniscule imperfection in the road, I would lose control of steering and the car would move into other lanes, unable to immediately correct it. Missing lug nut due to stud snapping off, when trying to replace it, all studs also broke off. All bolts in front caliper and caliper brackets also broke off, along with rear caliper snapping 3 days after vehicle purchase. Car is not drivable after having it 3 months. Multiple times while driving on highway the car would malfunction and lose power or steering wheel would lock up. These problems easily could've resulted in death and I have a [xxx] son who is always with me. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Took the Ford Fusion to the local Ford dealer to have the tires rotated. They said they could not remove the lug nuts as they have swelled. It is not possible to change a flat or rotate the tires.
I've had two issues with the power steering going out while driving, whic is very dangerous. The lug nuts also are fused on. I see recalls for these issues, although it says my VIN# is not included. I hardly think I have the exact issues, but somehow they aren't related to these recalls. The date I am providing is the most recent. There was another over the summer.
Swollen or warped lug nuts.
Engine light, advance trac light, abs light, battery light, tire pressure monitoring system light, alarm light suddenly came on. Then dash went completely blank. Headlights went out, lost control of vehicle at high speed. Dash lights came back on stirring control of vehicle lost. All dash lights started flashing. Breaking system not working.
While driving on the highway the left driver side front end of the Ford Fusion hit the right rear/side of another car on the highway after being cut off by another car weaving in & out of traffic at a high speed. The Ford Fusion was designated "totaled" by the body shop and insurance adjuster due to the extensive damage. The airbags never deployed. The airbags on this Ford Fusion were part of the airbag recall and were replaced by the Ford dealership within the last 2 years so they should have been in good working order but they never deployed. Very concerning.
My Fusion was on recall for the lug nuts. I took my car in for the replacement lug nuts. The new lug nuts are not the same size. I found that out by rotating my tires. The lug ranch from my car does not fit properly. The covering over the lug nuts that supports the hub caps stripped when trying to loosen the bolts. A standard four way lug wrench would not fit also. I was fortunate my neighbor was home who had a air gun. He had to use a different size socket to even get them loose. The lug nut covers on the lug nuts are a different size then the old recall ones. I never had a problem before removing the old ones with the lug ranch that was provided with my car. If I have a flat while driving theirs no way of changing the flat unless you have an air gun and a certain size socket. I have a friend who drives a Ford Fusion that had a tire that needed to be changed. They ran into the same problem with the new lug nuts. They had to call a tire store to come out to their home with an air wrench and a certain size socket to remove the lug nuts. Ford motor company needs to address this problem. Which I doubt they will. They haven't replace the hcu yet on my car that I received a recall on a year ago. Which ending up causing me to wreck the car when my brakes failed and causing damages to my car.
Our car has experienced three broken wheel studs to date. A recall has been issued for this safety defect for this model and year of vehicle. The dealer and the manufacturer state our car is not covered for this manufacturing defect because of the VIN number. We have paid the dealer for these repairs. But the safety defect is not a defect because of the VIN number? the broken wheel studs are aware of the VIN number?.
Dash panel indicated door ajar, emergency and other brakes were engaged, tire pressure low, interior lights came on, blinkers no longer work. This all happened suddenly while driving down a flat street, 25 mph, weather was 65 degrees, dry weather, during the day.
Well I get out this morning to take my kids to school when I crank the car and we start riding the service advancetrac light came on in blank then the service power steering light came on. So after I drop them off I was on my way home the light continue to blink as I pulled up in my driveway the steering wheel start to get hard to steer so I'll park got out well so I'll part pop the hood got out and check for power steering on to realize that is not one because it's electric. So when I look online to my surprise everybody with a Ford Fusion is having the same as a problem different year different engine size but same problem no one seems to have a solution because it's many things that can cause the problem is very stressful I think y'all should have that on recall to help better assist people with the problems. Unfortunately I hate the fact that my my warranty is up as father with a family of five don't have the money to afford to pay for to get it fixed.
One morning when my wife was getting ready to leave for the gym her car said power steering assist fault. now the car has no power steering and if you try to drive it it flashes service advance trac now. Sadly we don't have the money to fix this so the car is stuck in the drive way.
While in motion my vehicle does not speed up when coming from a dead stop. Even traveling speeds of 60mph I can not push on the gas and proceed fast enough to quickly switch lanes. It runs high rpms.
The wheel lug studs are breaking (inferior metal) recall 11s23 was completed but does not replace all lug studs just broken ones . Yesterday 4 of 5 on front wheel broke in half. Recall should replace all lug studs. Driving on freeway 55 vibration occured stopped vehicle and towed to Ford. Not covered by recall.
Recall 11s23 does not fix lug stud fracture causing wheel separation, recall was done yet after done 4 of 5 lug studs broke off while driving right hand front and 2 on left front wheel . Driving straight on freeway. Could cause loss of life.
Seven wheel studs have broken off on the left-hand side. Six since November, 2018. I don't know when they happened or how, but noticed. One broke a long time ago on the back left wheel and I drove on it for several years. I noticed at thanksgiving two more on the front left wheel and fixed it promptly, only driving to pick up parts, replacing all five on the front tire and the broken one of the back tire. In January 2019, I noticed two more on the back wheel sheared off and replaced all five. In April 2019, I noticed two more on the back wheel sheared off and replaced those two. At this point, I am shopping for a new car, but wanted to raise the alarm that there could be something going on with this vehicle. I have 190,000 miles on it and the hubcaps (which are known to fall off on this vehicle) have fallen off on three of the four wheels, including the two that have had problems.
I picked up a screw in my front passenger side tire somewhere on the road and called my insurance company to have someone come change the tire for me. After getting the flat tire changed to a spare, my power steering and advancetrac experienced complete failure upon restarting the car. I took the car to a garage and they told me I needed a completely new power steering rack that could cost $2,800 plus labor because the computer/sensor inside my current rack was faulty. They also informed me that Ford Fusion model years 2011 to 2014 had been recalled for this exact same reason, but 2010's have not. I experienced no issues with the power steering or advancetrac prior to this. After getting the flat repaired and put back on my vehicle, the power steering code was reset, but the garage told me my power steering could fail at any time while driving and I should drive accordingly if I wasn't going to get it repaired. I have not had the power steering fail again, but ever since the initial incident, my low tire pressure light has been on constantly despite the tire pressure being checked and deemed acceptable multiple times.
Primewell valera touring developed cracks in the sidewall and lost air at highway speed. I found out that there is a recall for these tires. I am trying to get this rectified with the tire distributor, but at this point no luck.
Abs module seems to cause random loss of braking -- vehicle starts braking normally, then sudden loss of hydraulic and pedal goes almost to floor before some braking resumes. It's a relatively infrequent problem ( four times in 6 months) with no apparent trigger, and has happened when pulling straight into a parking spot, stoping for a stoplight, and turning off of a freeway onto an off-ramp. Weather conditions during occurerences were dry and sunny twice, raining once, and overcast and about 50 deg f on the most recent (oct. 10, 2018) occasion. An unrelated matter has to do with their wheel lug nuts. They have a two-part constriuction, and the outer layer swells so that it cannot be serviced using the oem tire changing hardware supplied with spare tire.
Battery died due to sitting for a long period of time. Even though car was started numerous times during the week. Tires lost air twice due to sitting and told not to drive the vehicle.
There has been an investigation on this complaint but it not under my VIN number. My car is shaking causing vibration when I'm driving. The tire seems if it's going to fall off the car as I'm driving. There is no light indicating there is something wrong. It does not pick up speed I would have to put my foot all the way to the floor for it to really go anywhere. I'm on the highway everyday going to work. I hope one of these days nothing happens to me or my family because Ford won't just take a look at the car when I'm calling them telling them that it's the same problem the recall explains what the problems are. Recall #11v57400.
Lugs nuts will not come off.
Vehicle makes poppong sounds when car turns to side.
Complaint involving Ford Fusion tire bolts and lug nuts (2010 model). This is the second time the tire bolts break (3 on the front right side and 2 on the front left side). The vehicle front tire bolts and lug nuts were fixed by the original Ford dealer for the a recall for this same exact issue right after we purchased this car in 2010. We've recently noticed a difference driving (both city and highway) and took it in for normal maintenance and the exact same issue has arose again in the exact same location. Ford dealership doesn't have any additional recall on this same issue, however we've read that there is a lawsuit in mi regarding swollen lug nuts and wonder if this is related. Further documentation will be collected once our repair is paid for.
Every time this vehicle has the tires rotated there is a broken front right side wheel lug. Twice it has happened at the local Ford dealer, where the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle was recalled in 2012 and 2 wheel lugs on the rear were replaced. The tire shop refuses to rotate the tires unless I replace all the original Ford capped wheel nuts. This is a Ford problem and has been for some time it is time that some type of action is taken'.
Wheel studs have broken while being serviced by Ford, they have broken off when I've removed the wheels, they have broken off when independent repair shops have removed the wheels. Ford covered this under 11s23 (NHTSA 11v574000). However, my vehicle was manufactured during the dates specified by Ford, has the wheels which exhibit the problem, and has experienced this problem multiple times. Ford says my VIN does not match one of the recalled vehicles. I have paid to have the wheel studs replaced, on multiple occasions.
Wheel studs break off. The wheel studs have broken off multiple times while being torqued down at the dealership. They have broken off when I've replaced a tire, they have broken off when other repair shops have worked on them. I have already had them replaced twice, and need to have them replaced a third time.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving various speeds, the driver and passenger wheel studs fractured. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the wheel studs needed to be to replaced. The vehicle was repaired. A local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 135,000.
I am fed up with my Fusion having low pressure light coming on and having to carry an air compressor at all times because the low pressure light comes on any time and you don't have much time to get air into it before other issues start. I have seen where others are having the same problem. I keep being told that the tires are fine and that there is just some corrosion on the rims. They clean it up and remount the tires and it might be ok for 4-6 weeks. It does not matter what temperature or type of weather. It happens on county roads, city roads and interstate highways.
Just paid $1658. 00 for the removal and replacement of the rack & pinion in our 2010 Ford Fusion due to an inherent defect of the steering system that occurs around 90,0000 -100,000 miles.
Lug nuts are stripped. The dealer stripped them when rotating the tires. The lug nuts are not chrome plated, they have a shiny tin coating over the base metal. When I took it to a tire place they said they had trouble removing the wheels. I had to purchase new ones from Ford. . Read more...
Wheel studs fracture while in motion on smooth roadways city streets as well as highways at variable speeds between 5mph to 60mph . Studs have been replaced 7 times. Issue is reoccurring.
Power steering has gone out. The tire pressure light has come on and been on. Luckily it has happened at home so the car was not moving. However to fix this known issue the cost is approximately 1500. I have been making payments on this vehicle and have not been able to drive it due to the cost to fix it. I am aware that this is a known issue not only on my car but Fusions in general.
