Failure Date: 05/02/2023

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the brake pedal was soft and spongy while depressed, causing the contact to pump the brake pedal for the vehicle to stop. The contact stated that the brake pedal would go to the floorboard while depressed; however, the failure was intermittent at first but had started recurring more frequently. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who bled the brake lines and stated that the abs module needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not yet been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed there were no recalls on the VIN. The contact was made aware that the part needed for the repair was on back order. The approximate failure mileage was 70,500.
