Has a soft brake, goes down half way and keeps going down to bottom if pushed hard!!!! this could cause a collision to my family or with other!!! there are no warning lights and is extremely dangers as it seems to be getting worse!!!! I checked with Ford company and Ford dealer and they said there is no recall!!! I investigated myself on the internet and there are recalls on abs system to fix from 2001-2010 but stopped after that!!!! I bought a abs tester and operated the abs check myself and the master cylinder pumps up, but after the test the brake go right back down!!!!!!.
I have had to push my brakes to the floor - very scary because I did not think I would stop this time. Brake pads and brake master cylinder have all been replaced and found out it is the abs. I have no brakes now!.
At around 125000 miles I was driving on a city road around 20 miles per hour. I hit my brakes and the brake pedal went to the floor. I parked the vehicle and pumped the brakes while the vehicle was off and the brake regained full pressure. I took the vehicle to pep boys and then to the Ford dealership. Neither auto shop could find anything wrong with the system. At about 130000 miles I was on an exit ramp slightly turning my vehicle and attempted to brake at about 30 mph, the brake went to the floor again. I was not able to regain pressure in the brakes. I took the vehicle to pep boys, they told me the master cylinder and brake booster need to be replaced. I had a mechanic replace both parts. The brakes still didnt work. The vehicle is currently with Ford, they state the master cylinder is leaking so that part needs to be replaced and the system needs to be flushed. I see many complaints about the same issue with this vehicle and other years of the Ford Fusion. Not sure if this will be a solution to the issue.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to stop the vehicle. The vehicle crashed into a motor home. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. The contact stated that he was a certified Ford mechanic. The contact replaced the brake master cylinder however, the failure persisted. Way scarff Ford auburn located at 501 auburn way n, auburn, wa 98002, (253) 833-1500, was contacted and informed of the failure. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure was 140,000. Ah.
Vehicle was in motion, driving to work in rain and wet road conditions. Depressed the brake pedal to slow the vehicle as it was traveling through an intersection with a puddle on the roadway. I felt the abs engage and the brake pedal pulsate. The brake pedal pressure felt firm prior to the abs engaging. Vehicle continued to remain in motion when I depressed the brake pedal again to slow the vehicle. This time the brake pedal felt soft and traveled to the floor board before the brakes began to slow the vehicle. The vehicles stopping distance increased significantly. I was able to drive to work and home, but the brake pedal continued to remain soft and did not engage brakes until reaching the floor. I checked for obvious leaks around the brake calibers, with none noted, and the brake fluid level was at the full level in the fluid reservoir. There are no indications of external leaking around the master cylinder. I have scheduled an appointment with the local Ford dealership to diagnose the problem. There are no warning lights, abs or others, illuminated on the dashboard before, during or after the brakes became soft and less responsive. Originally suspected a master cylinder failure, but now suspect a abs hydraulic control unit or module after reading about similar fault conditions on the internet. The vehicles brake fluid was serviced by firestone about 45 days prior to this fault occurring. I am concerned about this fault because there was no warning of impending failure and the lack of a warning light indication with the fault still present is also troubling. I was able to avoid an accident because traffic was light at the time it had occurred and was able to reduce my speed and increase my following distance to compensate for the increased stopping distance.
One day I had noticed while driving that something wasn't feeling right, something was different then before. So as I'm driving I can notice it more especially when coming to a stop in a hurry. I didn't have any brakes on the car so I just started pumping the peddle because I didn't know what else to do and thankfully that worked. I have sent my car to a mechanic and he has been trying very hard to fix the problem. We've changed all the pads and rotors, bled out the lines, rebauilt the master cylinder and even bought a used abs pump. Nothing has worked to get the brakes working properly so that is why I am making this complaint about the brake sytem in my vehicle not working correctly and could've lead to someone getting hurt or killed. I have done more work on the vehicle now then it is even worth so I hope that you can help me out in this situation with my brakes. Thank you.
My brake pedal is spongy, sometimes it goes all the way to the floor and doesn't stop. Driving real slow through a parking lot or coming down the road to a traffic light, the brakes hardly work. Have taken it to several shops and was diagnosed as a bad master cylinder but after much internet search I found hundreds of people with same issues about a shop diagnosed the same part and it got replaced and didn't fix car. The cars hydraulic control unit to blame and going to be a $1500 fix.
While driving, on a city street, the brake pedal went almost to the floor,. . I had to pump the brakes to get back the pressure. This happened several times, driving, and also while I was parked and had just put the car in reverse to pull out of a parking spot. I took it to my mechanic, who inspected the brakes (which were less than a year old),. He checked the master cylinder and found nothing wrong, and brake fluid was accurate. The brakes continued to loose pressure from time to time, so I took it to another mechanic, who found nothing wrong with brakes, master cylinder, no leaks, and abs hydraulic system showed no warnings. In researching internet complaints, I have found many complaints of the same nature.
