1 Door Latch problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2022

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that after his wife exited from the front passenger’s side of the vehicle, she attempted to close and lock the door, but the door failed to close and latch securely. The contact stated that he was able to eventually get the door closed and locked; however, the front passenger’s side door failed to open from the inside. The contact had to roll the window down to open the door from the outside. Additionally, the contact stated that the front driver’s side door failed to open from the inside and outside and he had to use the passenger’s side door to enter the vehicle. The contact then had to roll down the window to exit the vehicle through the passenger’s side door. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to inspect the doors. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.

2 Door Latch problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2022

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the driver's side door handle had fractured. The contact was unable to open the door from the inside. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured spring. The contact was informed that the button and door handle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

3 Door Latch problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

Tl takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 19v001000 (air bags). Town & country Ford (6015 preston hwy, louisville, ky 40219, (502) 964-8131) scheduled an appointment; however, the part was not available for the repair. The recall was issued on January 28, 2019. In addition, the dealer was informed that the drivers side door failed to unlatch from inside the vehicle. The failure caused the driver to have to electronically wind down the window to open the door from outside the vehicle. The dealer had not verified if the vehicle was included or excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 17v210000 (latches/locks/linkages:door:latch). The contact stated that the vehicle exhibited the same failure as listed in the recall campaign. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.

4 Door Latch problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2018

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. While the vehicle was stationary, the driver's door latch fractured and the passenger door would not open when prompted. Coggin Ford jacksonville in jacksonville, florida was made aware of the failure and requested that the vehicle be brought in for diagnostic testing. 6 Door Latch problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2017

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the door latches failed to open properly from the outside manually. The contact had to use the electric function or roll the window down to open the doors. The dealer (ted britt Ford of fairfax, va) replaced the latches, but the contact was uncertain if the failure would recur with any of the other latches. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dealer and manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was excluded from any recall campaign with no solution other than replacing the part. The approximate failure mileage was 33,208.

7 Door Latch problem

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the driver's side door failed to open when using the interior latch. The contact had to climb over to the passenger side in order to exit the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the steering malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to pull to the left.
