Service power steering light illuminated, total loss is steering while I was driving. Popping sound. Very dangerous. Goes in and out, sometimes works then suddenly while driving it stops working.
My car said. Service power steering and service advance trac. Then not even 5 minutes later I could no longer turn the whe and hit a curb and broke my rim. I was not going over 35 mph and can not turn the wheel at all. Now it says service power steering now.
While driving the power steering failed and said power steering assist fault. Also the stability control system is showing. I know there were recalls on the 2012 Ford Fusion in 2015. This has happened 4 times to me and almost caused an accident while driving with my children in the car. 3 times it failed then came back working but now doesn't work at all. This is my only form of transportation and I need to have the recall honored on this car. I raise 2 of my grandchildren and I do not have $2000 to fix this problem. Thank you.
Whenever I try to make a left or right turn my dashboard lights up reading power steering assist fault and my steering wheel locks up and I can not turn or do anything unless I turn off my car and turn it back on. Sometimes I would have to constantly do this till I can drive. I always notice whenever I have my ac on it makes my power steering assist act up.
The car is very unsafe.
Whenever I make a certain turn my wheel locks up and I can no longer turn without wrestling my wheel to turn. My dashboard starts to go off and I get a message power assist at fault. I would have to turn my car off and on a couple times for me to be able to drive again without any issues. It gets worse when I'm about to pull out from a parking spot, that's when it mainly starts.
I drove my car to the next town over running errands and my Fusion makes an alarm similar to a low fuel but more urgent sounding. The cluster reads servivlce power steering now and service advance trac. I lost power steering/ assistance and with advance trac off I know I have no stability control or traction control. Luckily I was driving because I can say with confidence my wife could not have turned the car off the road to safety with it being front wheel drive. We arrived at out destination and my arms were burning from fighting it into a tight parking spot. I left it off for a while and tried again and the service power steering now warning was back. I built up the strength to make the drive back home. Entering the road at 10 mph the service advance trac now warning goes off. We made it home safely and I don't want my 3 year old daughter to get back in it until it's repaired. I called Ford and they said there was no recall and I did my research before talking to them and I said "how is this not a safety recall, I've read on forums this is a $2000 repair" and he agreed like he knew exactly what my issue was.
Two issues: while driving error message maintenance power steering now came on. Automatic steering went. Twice again after the mechanic reset it. Extremely difficult to turn. Could be extremely dangerous. I took the car to the local dealer, (walker Ford, clearwater, FL) and although there is a recall it doesn't apply to my vehicle. Very expensive to fix, in the $2000 range. The other problem which is the first reason we went to the mechanic. The front end has been making noises, creaking and crunching when making turns or cold. That issue needs control arm replaced which is connected to the subframe very costly. I have seen both these issued addressed in numerous complaints online. Front suspension control arm problem of the 2012 Ford Fusion 2 failure date: 03/02/2019 this below is what happened in detail. The low tire pressure light came on inside the dash as I was driving so I drove about to get air. After I put air in the tire, started the car and immediately got a warning that power steering needed servicing. Then got another warning that advance track needed servicing. All happened at the same time and the power steering was completely gone out. Controlling rack needs replacing. 2000 the service dept said the gear inside the power steering rack has gone bad and the control arms it sits on has worn out the gear therefore needing front lower control arms costing $1500.
Hi, my name is jacob endom and I own a 2011 Ford Fusion. In November of 2019, I noticed my brakes acting differently almost in an instant. Everything was fine and normal when I stopped my car and when it was time to go again, I immediately could sense a difference in the performance. I drove it around for a while and was aware I was having to pump the pedal to get it to stop the vehicle. It was frightening to get used to because the first couple times I would pump nothing would happen and then it would catch up and work partially. Enough to stop the car but with much more difficulties. I told my family what I was experiencing because I was using my car for my job as a doordash delivery driver. They told me with as much driving as I have to do, that I don't need to be on the road with this issue. Long story short, my brakes still aren't repaired. I've spent close to 3,500 on repairs between 3 different mechanics. I even took out a $1200 loan for one last shot and it got me know where. So I am having to pay around $1800 back to the loan company. I still owe money to my mom, grandmas, and grandpas for helping. A little over a thousand to each and I have to pay off the loan. The worst part is I have not been able to work since then. So I have no work history or proof of insurance since then. I am also getting mail saying I owe $367 by August 2nd or they will repo my car. I wish I could just get this repaired so I won't have to lose the car after all this and still pay what I owe on it, also messing up my credit. Also having paid way more then the car is worth. And there are many complaints of the same sort with other owners of this make and model. It's just been an extremely stressful situation for me and my family. My family has even begun to be upset with me because the money invested wasn't worth anything and I have no way of paying them back. I live on my own rent.
On 5 November 2019 while traveling I-270 in maryland without prior warning my brake pedal went all the way to the floor, and the following warning lights came brake, abs, and traction control. This vehicle was extremely difficult to slow down or stop on the highway. This repair cost me $1335. 53 and sounds very similar to the Ford recall announced on December 19th involving 2006-2010 Fusions. Mine is a 2011.
I pulled in my driveway, parked 2011 Ford Fusion and then shut vehicle off. I returned, started vehicle, went to start driving my vehicle out of driveway and the car started beeping and listed that the power steering did not work. I looked it up online and there was a recall for steering: electric power assist system failure (15v340000 or 15s18). I took to dealership and will attach quote which their recommendation is exactly what Ford's recommendation was. However my car doesn't fall into the correct date for this recall, I am happy that I was not driving 75mph down insterstate 70 in wheeling, wv or driving up to west liberty, wv where I work. Either could have resulted in a horrible accident for me, my kids and potentially other vehicles involved. The car has only 73,000 miles on it roughly and is in excellent condition.
In August 2016, I cranked my car (a 2011 Ford Fusion hybrid) in my driveway and noticed the service advancetrac, brake failure system, and abs lights lit up on the dash. I tried to back out and notcied the electric break were not working and the break peddle was to the floor and difficult to press. The car was towed to a Ford dealer. They kept the car for a week and could not find a probelm. The lights went off and the probelm was resolved on its own. In August 2019, this probelm happened again. I cranked the car in a parking lot and noticed the same warning lights from 3 years ago were on. I was able to get home, but the brakes were not very responsive and were significiantly further down than usual. I took the car to a Ford dealership and they claimed they "reset the system" and the problem was resolved. A few weeks later, the issue reoccured. The dealership said they did not know how to relsove the problem. After about 4 days the warning lights went off and the brakes returned to normal. On October 20, 2019 the warning lights came on again and the issue is still occuring. The car is drivable, but it does not feel safe. It could not come to an abrupt stop if needed and I live on a highway where people often pull out in front of me. In 2009, Ford issued a software update for the brake system for Fusion hybrids. It seems later hybrid models also need a software update. I have read that replacing the brakes or abs control module does not reslove the probelm. It is an issue with the computer system.
The power steering failed to operate correctly and the dash displayed a "power steering assist fault" and "service advancetrac system" warning during startup. The error repeated during several starts and finally became constant.
My car was 100% fine when I drove to work and 3 hours later when I was driving for lunch there was a message that there was a power steering assist fault. Thankfully I was not in a busy area because I could barely crank my wheel to turn. There is a recall for 2011 Ford Fusions but my VIN was not included. Yet with no indicators my power steering does not work.
Purchased my car from Ford in April 2015, have had 0 issues with it, until Thursday evening sept 5, 2019. On the way to work, everything was fine. Leaving work, everything was fine. . . Until I got on a 55mph highway, in traffic, in heavy rain (due to hurricane dorian entering our area). Out of nowhere, my power steering warning and advance trac lights came on and I lost complete steering function in my vehicle. I am almost 5 months pregnant and almost wrecked in 2 lanes full of traffic of other people heading home from work in such weather! upon research, 400,000+ Ford Fusion 2011's have been recalled over this same exact issue - yet it seems that no one's VIN #s match with the recalled vehicles. Yet again, over 2000+ recent complaints on NHTSA website as well! this is ridiculous - almost 2 years left to pay on my loan and my vehicle doesn't match the VIN for the recall - when obviously, yes it damned well does! I had to call for help because I'm too pregnant to forcefully manhandle the wheel that barely turns 2 inches to either side, to try and steer a vehicle with no power steering! luckily we had family in from out of town who evacuated from the beach that could help us get the car home. Would Ford be paying for my accident and injuries to potentially 2 because, again I'm pregnant - and then anyone else I could have hit on my exit! this is related to an obvious ongoing electronic failure! this needs to be addressed & fixed now!.
While taking a one lane exit on the freeway going at 30 miles per hour a wrench light came on and my car completely loss power. The car coasted until it came to a complete stop. This was very dangerous! I could have died. You guys really need to get all of there Ford Fusions off of the road. I could not accelerate or brake to slow on the freeway. I waited 5 minutes and the car turned on with no problem. My mechanic could not replicate the problem so he said there was no problem. While looking online this is a throttle body issue. Which needs to be recalled immediately. I can't work if I can't get there with a car that I've purchased!!! I refuse to drive this car!.
Driving on the highway when the power assist steering failure message and advance trac service message came on with an alarm. I pulled off the highway and discovered manual only steering and it was very very difficult to turn the wheel to pull into a parking lot and almost crashed. If I had to quickly swerve to avoid anyone I would have crashed. I had this vehicle serviced when I was notified of the 15s18 recall and Ford service only reprogrammed the steering module. They did not replace the unit. I returned the vehicle back to Ford service after this incident and they stated that the electronic power assist steering gear had failed.
I was on the interstate drive when the vehicle's power steering wheel lost full functionality. I was unable to steer left or right without there being a strain. I was nearly 1 hour away from the nearest mechanic shop and was forced to manually override the steering wheel's control in order to arrive at a mechanic shop nearest to my destination.
While driving approximately 10 mph on a city street, the car's abs system randomly failed. The brakes did not work until depressed almost completely, and not well. When brought to the mechanic, computer code indicated internal electronic failure. Researching online, this seems to be a known problem with Fusion hybrids but has not been addressed by Ford in a recall. The problem seems to be intermittent and possibly related to a software glitch.
The wrench light came up on my car. It says it's the throttle control transmission. The car gave no sign or warning about this car throttle. The code coming up is p2111. I believe there was a investigation going on with my situation a few years ago. Is this a recall or something that can be fixed because of a recall?.
Car came up with "service advancetrac/service power steering now" error codes.
As I was driving down the road (I had my daughter and cousin with me), my wheel started pulling to the left hard. A light comes on saying service advance track now. When I took it to the Ford dealership, they told me there is a recall but because my car is over a certain mileage that it's not covered and it'll cost me $2000. 00 to fix the problem. I've done some research online and there are lots of others that's having the same problem that I am. I've contacted Ford several times and they refuse to fix this issue. . . Even though it's under a recall. I'd really appreciate it someone could get this problem resolved. It's dangerous and now I have to worry about how I'm going to get where my kids and I need to go every day.
1)power steering assist fault error message. No power steering. 2)service trac control error message 3)cruise control sticking at a high speed so can't use it.
My fiance went to start the care to go to work and the power steering assist failure and service advancetrac warnings were on. She couldn't even turn the steering wheel. If she had been driving with our 2 year old son in the cat they could have been killed. There are many others that I have found with the same problems why had this not been recalled, serious injury or death could occur. Then there would be multiple lawsuits.
My airbag light has been on for a month now and every time I call Ford they tell me that my car isn't up for a recall. This is very dangerous and it has affected my horn, or anything else controlling my steering wheel. My power steering has been replaced twice. I need for someone to check into this matter for me please.
My alert symbols are just coming on and my steering control has changed. When I try to drive my car now losses power.
Tl takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the warning indicators illuminated for the service advancetrac, electronic stability control, and power steering assist fault. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags); however, the interim notice indicated that the part was not available from the manufacturer for an extended period of time. The vehicle was also included in two manufacturer service campaigns: 13n03(electronic throttle body extended coverage) and 15n01 (epas steering efforts). The contact was to check with the manufacturer to determine if the failure was related to the two campaigns. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Upon starting the car and backing out of the driveway I experienced a loss of power steering assist. Even with several attempts to turn the engine off and restart, the code is still there. There have been many cases of this happening online and a recall that my vehicle was not under in 2015.
Throttle body was under recall and was replaced in 2016, not even a year and half later my throttle body failed again. Ford wont replace it under warranty for the year and half part, Ford wont use my extended vehicle warranty and I continue to have the same problem over and over.
The power steering in my 2011 Ford Fusion has been going out periodically. When this happens, I have to wait for the opportunity to make a wide turn because it's very difficult to turn the wheel. There's been several occasions when I caused traffic jams or almost got rear ended since the car behind me didn't expect me to take so long to turn. A lot of times the power steering goes out when I'm stopped at a red light. I can still drive the car to my destination locally using the streets but I fear that it will go out one day while I'm driving on the freeway. Luckily it's usually only me in the car when it happens but I'm afraid that it might also happen when my kids are in the car. It's also frustrating because only I can drive the car because when it happened once when my wife drove it, she panicked and wasn't strong enough to turn the wheel. This time, she did have one of my children in the car. I had to go meet her and drive it home. I've been researching this issue and have found that thousands of vehicles with the same make, . Model, and year have experienced similar issues yet only certain vehicles are part of a recall. My car is experiencing exactly everything that the recall says it would yet when I run my VIN #3fahp0ja6br134400 through Fords database, my car does not fall under this power steering recall. Which I find very disturbing. I've also contacted Ford corporate and my local Ford delearship and they just advise me that my VIN # is not part of that recall. Which is very odd. Since my car is exactly what the recall describes.
Power steering assist failure a/c fail defrost fail turns on & off by itself or just doesnt operate at all anymore tracadvance failure.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph the vehicle stalled and slowed down to a complete stop. The contact also mentioned that the vehicle was still on when the vehicle stopped operating. The contact had to turn the ignition off and turn it back on in order to get the vehicle to function properly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they informed the contact that a sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic test or repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Lose of power steering whenever it wants & service afvamcetrac continues to come on. Suppos day yhere t no recalls yet I loose power steering at amy given time & no mechanic can repair due to the inform me it should repaired by entire new parts from Ford. Had been taken in multiple times yet then they tell me it should b ok but won't promise it due to every other power steering recall on this vehicle but mine. Need help & resolution. Has stopped workin multiple times & have had 3 accidents into curbs, my other vehicle & thx god when it happened on freeeay I was able to slam my brakes & safely get out of traffic.
Takata recall & steering failure I have a 2011 Ford Fusion on which the steering suddenly failed, without any warning, while driving. Thankfully the failure occurred close to our home and my wife was able to make it home without incident. I've been doing research online and learned that this is a common problem. While Ford has issued a recall for some later models, they are not covering all viechles with the same part. I am contacting you to raise awareness that the problem still exists and is still impacting people. I have owned many cars that are much older and have never had a complete steering loss. I also want to let you know that we are still waiting for resolution of the takata airbag recall. The recall was issued by Ford in July of 2016. We have continued to drive the car with the promise by Ford that the car is safe, however, as I continue to read about incidents online, realize that may not be the case. After all, if it were safe there wouldn't have been a recall. My wife has gotten to the point where she doesn't want to drive the car for concerns for her safety. I feel this is unacceptable and am asking for your help to hold Ford accountable 1. Accept responsibility for the steering issue and the risk it posses and extend the racall to all affected viechles 2. Expedite the repair on the airbag recall thank you!.
When I start my car I get a power steering assist failure and a service advance trac message. I can not turn my steering wheel and my car acts as if it won't do anything. I can turn my car off, wait, then start again and it is fine. My passenger seat belt also will randomly not click into the buckle or come unlocked. Now this is after Ford supposedly fixed another recall causing my car to drop to a low speed out of nowhere.
