Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 15v340000 (steering). While driving at unknown speeds and making a turn, the steering wheel became stiff and the power assist warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to galpin Ford (15505 roscoe blvd, north hills, CA 91343, (818) 787-3800) where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion fractured due to the frame. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer. The failure mileage was 84,000.
