Purge valve failure, Ford claims they could not provide the part when requested. (chino hills Ford) saftey was put a risk because according to the current recall for the same year and model of a 2011 Ford Fusion this failure could cause pressure changes and may cause the tank to crack and leak fuel. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition sources increases the risk of a fire. Yes the problem was confirmed by a Ford dealer in chino hills yes it has been inspected by Ford and resulted in a failed evap purge valve test and called for replacement yes the problem caused a p0456 codes which indicated a small leak in the evap system.
Fuel tank is cracked and actively leaking fuel. There was a recall for this issue, clearly it did not fix the problem.
Airbag: took car in for passenger air bag recall, got the car back and now the passenger airbag light not working properly and they want to charge me. It was fine till the recall issue for the passenger airbag. Fuel system: every time I fill my gas tank (I never top off), my car stalls our or bucks. After 40 or so miles it wont do it anymore until I fill up again. I've even had it stall going 40 mph.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle himself and found fuel on the ground. The contact also discovered that the fuel tank was cracked and the canister purge valve failed. The contact mentioned that the fuel tank was capless. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel tank). The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 126,000.
The vehicle was in motion and check engine light came on. Took to the dealership and they found a pinhole on the top of the fuel tank. There was a recall connection with a part causing the fuel tank to crack. However, I was made to pay for the repairs and Ford will not reimburse me.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the odor of fuel was present inside and outside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that fuel tank was cracked causing fuel to leak from the vehicle and the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer harrison Ford(820 n. Main st. Wellington, OH) and manufacturer were both notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA recall campaign number 15v793000(fuel system) although the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 91,000. Jft.
Canister purge valve failure - check engine light came on while driving. Error code p1450 displays now indicating there is a vacuum issue in my fuel tank we had the vehicle checked in April 2016 when the recall notice came out - the recall was closed with a computer module update to make check engine light come on if valve malfunctions - because there was no visible issue with the valve in 2016 Ford will not honor the recall and fix the malfunctioning part at this time.
I was never contacted about any recalls. My mother contacted me through email to see if I knew about the airbag recall. 2 recalls I only learned about today by checking my credit report because the agency that holds the title reported my account for non-payment. I recieved a carfax report when I purchased the vehicle August 2017 from drivetime. I was told there were no recalls on the vehicle. Now, I am seeing 4 recalls, 2 of which (2014 & 2016) have appeared only now that the vehicle is being serviced. I was probably the only idiot in America that would have bought the high-mileage, over-priced vehicle in the 1st place. I was told it had been a fleet vehicle for a rental car agency. I thought I was getting a safe vehicle. But my feeling now, is that it should have never been sold. I'm not sure what to do. The vehicle may get repossessed and I am feeling cheated. I sent the car to the 1st auto body shop and they wanted $1470 for all the repairs. I called Ford motor company, they told me the car could get repaired free of charge at an authorized Ford dealer. I had the car towed to the 2nd shop. The car has been at that dealership since February 1st. My estimate is about $260. I'm not sure what I'm expecting to happen, but I attached a photo of the fuel overflow hose leaking fuel even when the tank was not full. It would do this regularly and that is 1 of the 2 new recalls that appeared. I'm scared to drive this car. I just want some reliable answers and solutions before I shell out any further money on a car that has put me, my family and other people at risk. Please help. Thanks in advance. . . . . . .
I been seeing that the gas in the car runs out so soon and I always wonder why , until one day I was fueling the car and I was standing next to it and I feel like something splashes my feet , so I checked under my car and there is the problem the gas tank is leaking, call the dealer to fix it and they said that I has to pay for it , l don't think is fair to pay for a manufactured issued , I did pay a lot of money for a supposed to be a good ,safe and reliable car that now has to many issues and recalls and they don't (Ford),take responsibility about it. Please help.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the fuel tank started to leak. The vehicle was taken to dealer elder Ford of tampa 9560 n florida Ave, tampa FL 33612 where they stated that NHTSA campaign number: 15v93000 (fuel system) no longer applied to the vehicle. The manufacturer was also contacted and stated that the vehicle was pressure tested and found safe to drive and had the recall removed. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. Am.
The fuel tank has a crack and is leaking, apparently this was a recall item on some Ford Fusion models but my VIN number is not listed as one of those affected.
My power steering advancetrac went out while driving, my steering wheel locked on highway, in result I broke my front bumper and almost ended up in a accident due to a locked steering wheel. I turned in to Ford for power steering recall and they wanted to charge me. I never had a thing like this before happen. I also have fuel inlet on fuel tank and I took in for recall and all the Ford dealer did was set my car out in their parking lot and did nothing to fix it. , even though it was under warranty. I was just getting into my car when I was at home about to leave to work when the message came across the dashboard.
Error code(s) p1450, p0456, Ford Fusion se 2011, 3. 0l v6 (4 valve). My car was getting the error code p1450 (unable to bleed up fuel tank vacume) that would turn on the malfunction indicator light (mil) this would happen after the vehicle had been started for a short time. . This went on for a short time, I found that by using the gas funnel supplied with the car the vacume could be relieved and all was good for a few days. After about 3 or 4 times it stoped coming up. Now ,1 year and a few days to the date, it's back and I'm getting the error code p0456 (evap emissions control system leak very small) with it. It means, in my case, that the evaporative emissions canister perge valve (cpv) has a small leak that is causing a vacume to develop in the fuel tank. If this happens enough times it can cause the fuel tank to develop a crack, this hasn't happened to my vehicle that I'm aware of yet (I'll be checking on that while I change the cpv),. And we all know that a leaking gasoline tank isn't a good thing in a lot of ways.
Code p0457 and p1450 keep coming up. The description is a fault with the fuel filler near the gas tank. A recall for the fuel gas tank filler was previously performed. Is this part of this recall?.
I purchased a 2011 Ford Fusion on 12/14/16. It had a half tank of gas in it when I took delivery. I filled the tank on 12/15/16. After driving it, I noticed a strong smell of fuel for about the top 1/8 of the tank. Due to a lot of snow and ice we have had, I have not been able to tell if there is actually any fuel leaking onto the ground but the odor is there once the car is parked after driving. There is a known recall of almost a half million 2010/2011 Ford Fusions and Mercury milans for this exact problem. My vehicle was manufactured within the dates of the recalled vehicles. I contacted Ford and they stated that my vehicle is not part of this recall. They are not willing to assist me with diagnostic testing or repair at this time. They informed me that I should file a complaint regarding my situation with NHTSA. I would greatly appreciate any assistance you could offer with having my vehicle included as part of this recall. I have two young children and need a safe vehicle to be able to transport them in daily. I do not feel this vehicle is safe for them to travel in and I do not have cash readily available for this very expensive replacement of the fuel system that should be covered under a known recall.
Nov. 13, 2016 I filled the tank with gas. When I got home the tank was leaking profusely. The next morning I dropped it off to a chain auto shop. They were able to determine there was a leak in the fuel assembly and also reported the vehicle was under recall that I should take to Ford dealer. I researched the recall 15s34 that was issued Feb 4, 2016 but my particular vehicle had been "closed out". The dealer in michigan looked at the car 24 days after the recall was issued and determined there were no issues. They reprogrammed the pcm on Feb 29th. The new patch wasn't released until the 1st quarter (no date). However, 8 months later - the fuel tank is exhibiting symptoms consistent with the recall. I also noticed previously that when I filled up, the car didn't turn over right away. Ford refuses to take care of the fuel tank and reopen the recall on my vehicle. Ford's automated phone system for recall - 15s34 specifically mentions that "the cpv may develop an internal leak which under certain circumstances allow excessive vacuum to build in the fuel tank. Repeated cycles of this condition will eventually cause a crack to develop. The letter from michael berardi also states that "interm repairs for these vehicles ("claims will not close 15s34") why is my car not being taken care of by Ford? the local dealer where it was purchased is not willing to help out either.
I have a recall on my car for the fuel tank and there is no fix at this time. I need to get my tags on my car by November and dont know if I will be able to.
Contact team Ford las vegas nv 1/29/2016 concerning my recall. Safety recall notice 15s34/NHTSA recall 15v-793 they told me they did not know when the parts would be available for repair. They also told me that if the fuel tank had a crack, that a new fuel tank would not be available "until 2017" how is that possible if my fuel tank is indeed cracked. Am I supposed to drive the Ford Fusion with the possibility of a fire or explosion? if this is not a safety concern, I don't know what is I hope that are able to assist me in this matter thank you.
My car almost caught on fire while I was working. The fuel tank had a crack in it and gasoline was leaking out. These fumes were inhaled by my grandkids and me. When I took my car in ,the Ford dealer kept my car from 12/8/2015 until 07/27/2016. I had to ride in a rental this long. A recall was issued in January. I felt that as a consumer, I was treated unfairly and the risk of my family was not consider a factor when this car could have burst into flames at any time.
Gas leaking on ground due to faulty fuel tank. Car had to be taken in an left with dealer for 6+ months. Problem with engine light on reoccurring.
Driving on fwy car display a wrench and you can't accelerate all you can do is coast to the shoulder of the road or hold up traffic. This has happened 10 times in one month my next problem is the dash display check fuel fill inlet and then the engine light comes on. The first time it happened was two weeks after I bought the car so they told me what shop to take it to because we had a 30 day warranty so I did they told me that it was a common problem on cars that don't have gas caps. It happened again, took it back to the same shop and he gave advise on how to fill your gas tank . It happened again took it back to the same shop this time he said that he replaced the whole fuel inlet thing. Well it happened again this time he told me to hit the reset button on the steering wheel I did and it went off but it kept on coming back on when I get back in the car and starting it. After a couple of days of doing that I took it back to the same shop he said that he would have to charge me to see what the problem is and I said it says check fuel fill inlet I should'nt have to pay so he said that he would charge the dealer he cleaned the part where the gas goes in he said and every thing is alright. Well after about a week it happened again this time the engine light came on too and when you reset the check fuel fill comes right back on. I took it back to the same shop and this time I had to pay and I don't see why because its the same problem over and over again and it is not fixed I paid 50. 00$ and it still has check fuel fill inlet and engine light still on. The car is at the Ford dealer right now because I had 3 recalls on the vehicle but nothing about the fuel fill inlet,Ford said that they can check out why the fuel inlet is on but I have to pay 120. 00$ I don't have the money I feel that it should be fixed free because it was under warranty and was never really fixed.
My check engine light came on and the error code is for a evap system leak. I took the car to a garage. They said there is most likely a small crack in the fuel delivery hose on the capless fuel system. However, to save money they said to go to a Ford dealer because it could be under warranty or recalled. It is neither. The 2013 Ford Fusions were recalled for the delivery hose cracking. (recall no. 13504) now I cannot fill my tank up the whole way without gas leaking out. This is dangerous and I don't understand why my car would not be recalled when it has the same safety issues as the other 50,000 that they did recall.
Filled tank up with fuel. Few hours later noticed the smell of gas. Found fuel tank to have a steady drip of gas. Leak is coming from top side of tank on passenger side. Due to the area I cannot identify where leak is originating.
On 8/7/13 I was driving my car to work in my apartment complex (approx. 5 mph) my car stopped responding to the gas petal and started "shaking" erratically. A small tool/wrench light appeared on my dash. I pulled over and turned the car off. Restarted several minutes later and was able to drive with no problems until on the way home. I didn't drive it again until 8/9/13 to the mechanic. It started and drove fine, until 15 minutes after being on the interstate (which I had to get on to get to the mechanic) the car stopped responding to the gas pedal and seems to stay at the same speed for about a minute (approx. 60 mph). Finally the car started to slow down and started shaking ( like it was out of gas but I still 1/2 tank). I had to pull over immediately on the very busy interstate because the car was shaking and didn't seem to respond to the gas pedal. I let the car sit for several minutes and tried to start driving on the shoulder but the car started shaking again. I decided to try one more time before calling a tow truck because it was a very dangerous situation (and I had my 11 months old son in the car) trying to merge back on the freeway with a car that didn't want to accelerate and was shaking. I tried again and was able to successfully pull back onto the interstate. Once I was able to get off, I took side streets and had to stop the car again (approx. 30-40 mph). Mechanics said that Fords aren't suppose to have this problem they were very surprised and told us to research the internet for recalls, that is how I found safercar. Gov and the numerous complaints for the same situation. This problem is obviously an issue with the car itself and not in anyway the owners/operators fault. There should be a recall issued immediately since this issue happens suddenly with no warning that there is anything wrong with the car and could result in accidents/loss of life.
