1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2026

Car is leaking gas after being filled mostly up. When I look it up it said this specific car does have some problems with leaking fuel.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/04/2026

Powertrain light came on and threw code p1450 and car went into limp mode. Car will stall at stops and lights and won't go over 40. Replaced the canister purge valve which turned light off but it immediately came back once trying to over 40 and went back into limp mode. Everything I have read and ai has said based on diagnostic information says it's the electronic throttle body which has a recall for this model and year of car but not this VIN for some reason.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2026

Car continues to accelerate after applying the brake. Has happened numerous times. Usually at slow speed.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/26/2026

My fuel tank cracked due to the purge valve ann also once in a while the steering assist fails.

5 Other Fuel System problem

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2024

The gas tank has developed a crack towards the top of the tank. This appears to be from the exact same issue that Ford recalled because the "purge valve" can cause the pressure to change inside the gas tank. As the pressure increases and decreases, a crack can develop in the top of the tank, allowing fuel to leak. My VIN was not included in the recall for some reason. Even though it is the exact same model and I believe was even built at the same plant in mexico where the other impacted vehicles were made.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2022

While driving at freeway speed, my 2011 Ford Fusion hybrid suddenly shutdown before I could pull over safely exposing me to extreme harm from other cars. I was unable to drive it home, as it no longer would safely function sufficient to get me home. Additionally, the airbag recall should have been remedied by now, Ford's response has not been timely.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2021

Car was purchased used at approximately 100,000 miles. While filling tank at pump, automatic shutoff on pump triggered repeatedly. It seemed vapor was backing up into the fill tube, so filling tank consisted of pressing pump then releasing once per gallon to allow vapors to disperse and repeat. Several mechanics reported working on similar cases and suggested inspecting the cpv canister. At approximately 110,000 miles, car developed a gas tank rupture. Mechanic inspected and determined that tank had burst at seam. In researching the cpv canister, discovered recall 15s34. VIN search states that this recall does not apply to this vehicle, but symptoms are identical to technical description.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2020

Failure of the throttle body and motor assy. T\internal fault code p2112 caused the power on car to go to limp mode. This created a dangerous situation at highway speeds. The item has been flagged in February 21, 2013 NHTSA action number: pe13003electronic throttle body malfunction NHTSA action number: pe13003 Ford has failed to correct the issue on my vehicle. This occurred 17 Aug 2020. The vehicle was at 152,000 miles and had been serviced regular by Ford since purchase in 2011. This issue should have never occurred. I had stopped at a light and made a right turn on to expressway in rush hour traffic. With no acceleration this became a dangerous situation very quickly. I expected to accelerate to 45mph but could barley creep to 20 mph max.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/16/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while refueling the vehicle, there was an abnormal fuel odor outside of the vehicle. The contact stated that there was a fuel leak underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to rc lacy inc. (25 maple avenue catskill, NY 12414, (888)733-2720, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the purge valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline) as a solution to the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure and referred the contact back to the same dealer for a second diagnostic test which was still pending. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2020

Driving home from work. Interstate highway. Service advance trac light came on. Shortly afterwards, service power steering came on. Lights on dash showing yellow car swerving. Slowed down to make sense of it and steering wheel would not turn without great effort. 1 week before this, service engine light was on and local garage told me the code said problem with fuel cap(which it does not have). Now I have looked at recalls and Ford says my car was built in August,2010, but VIN covered on this recall starts in September, 2010. So now car is disabled and have to pay tow charges to get it home, then to dealership where it lacks being covered by a few days, then almost $2000 in repairs that I can't afford. Lucky no one was injured or killed.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2020

There where recalls awhile back. And one it had to do with the fuel system when I did the recall for it a year later I had the same issue took it to Ford an they want me to pay over 500 for it when it was a recall the fuel light came on it says check fule inlet. It has disappeared now an the check engine light went away. There was a recall for the power steering. My steering wheel is locking it said that power steering locked. And they said that I cant do the recall. I have a 2011 Ford Fusion se. And the only recall they said was there was for the air bags. I want to know why I cant get these things fixed. I only have one car on a fixed income I own the car. An now I need answers.

13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2019

The throttle position sensor is showing signs of failing.

14 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2019

While driving, at posted speed, 40mph . . . . All at once, there was a complete loss of acceleration, a very rough idle to the engine and a wrench icon showed on the dash. I had to quickly pull off to the side of the road. I was able to turn the vehicle off and then when I started the vehicle again the problem seemed to reset and the wrench icon disappeared. I took the vehicle to local mechanic and their computer tools were not able to find anything wrong (codes with a diagnostic check). Car seemed to run fine for approximately the next 500 miles and then, while driving on a busier road at 65 mph, the vehicle did the exact same thing, again causing me to need to avoid an accident and pull to the side of the road. I, once again, was able to reset the system by turning the vehicle off and back on. I am very concerned about the safety of this issue and feel that I am now limited only to local travel.

15 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2019

For the last year experiencing progressively worsening drivability issues. The most concerning is steadily increasing throttle lag (time between applying more pressure to accelerator and vehicle responding), which I view as a safety issue. The vehicle does not respond appropriately when applying throttle, which may increase risk of accident b/c vehicle may not accelerate properly when needed either placing me at risk because it leaves me in the path of another vehicle or prevents my vehicle from expeditiously responding to avoid another vehicle. . Secondarily vehicle now operating almost exclusively in gas power mode (worsening mpg efficiency) but also causing jerking/hesitation when transitioning between gas/ev modes. This powertrain was not designed to work in gas only but as a partnership between gas/ev, therefore in gas alone is not working properly. Internet search reveals many other owners experience same problem. To dealer service x 3 - 1st 2 dealer said nothing wrong. Finally given a Ford service bulletin (attached) that Ford is aware for at least 4 months and forbids service to the car! thus I have an unsafe vehicle that Ford has no solution for repair for at least 4 months, and no indication of when this will be addressed.

16 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/19/2018

Takata recall.

17 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. While driving, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence where it displayed code: p0455 (evap system leak detected). The vehicle was taken to marshal mize Ford (located at 5348 TN-153, hixson, TN 37343, (423) 875-2023), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the repair did not correct the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.

18 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/06/2018

The cars p2119 and p2112 trouble lights and the wrench light keep appearing. The car suddenly loses power regardless of speed or location. My research indicates Ford is aware of this problem however they only offered to fix it for 4 months. This vehicle was eligible and they will not repair it. I believe this is a huge safety issue. If my daughter had been driving she would have panicked and possibly put her life in danger.

19 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2018

Throttle body was under recall and was replaced in 2016, not even a year and half later my throttle body failed again. Ford wont replace it under warranty for the year and half part, Ford wont use my extended vehicle warranty and I continue to have the same problem over and over.

20 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2018

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the eps warning light illuminated within less than a month of owning the vehicle. The power steering had failed to function each time the warning light flashed making it extremely difficult to turn the vehicle in either direction. In addition, the vehicle stalled more than once with no warning. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by a dealer and an independent mechanic. The independent facility that sold the vehicle made no mention that there had been two recalls for NHTSA campaign numbers: 15v340000 (steering) and 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was contacted to determine if the contact may be referred to a dealer to receive both recall repairs. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.

21 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2018

Power steering assist fault pops up when car starts and steering wheel does not move.

22 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2017

Takata recall I need an airbag replaced due to recall. I also need the throttle body replaced due to recall.

23 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2017

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 15v340000 (steering), 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline), and 16v384000 (air bags); however, the parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was taken to a local unknown dealer, but the parts were not available. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available for NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags), and parts distribution disconnect for NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 15v340000 (steering).

24 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2017

I was driving on freeway when I noticed a odor for about five minutes before it got worse, once I pulled over to check it and let the windows down the oder got stronger. I've had this happened a couple of times but didn't think it was my car.

25 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/25/2017

Check fuel fill inlet: the check fuel fill inlet warning has intermittently come on in my 2011 Ford Fusion sel for the last 6 months. I have completed the recommended steps to remedy the error by cleaning the area and blowing out any possible debris from the inlet. While driving today, the error message came back on. A few moments later when I was driving approximately 70 mph on the interstate with cruise control on, my vehicle suddenly revved up approximately 2000 rpm and stayed until I pulled off of the roadway. I shut the vehicle off and restarted and the error message is still present, but I haven't encountered the high revving again at this time. Approximate mileage at time of issue - 115,760 location: I-70 in independence, mo.

26 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2017

I was driving on a busy city street during rush hour when I noticed the car jerking when it changed gears. The rpm would shoot up high then back down while losing power to the vehicle. I managed to get to an auto advance store where I had a diagnostic done since my check engine light was on. The diagnostic came back with code po455 twice and po457 twice. It was then explained that too much air was getting into my fuel system. I proceeded to go to the Ford dealership, which was a half mile away. On the way, my car continued to jerk and loose power and some points. Then everything digital which one displays my mileage and the other displays how many mile till empty displayed intermittent lines and the wrench illuminated on my dashboard. At this time my car was on but quickly lost power to go forward. It almost got rear ended by the car behind me. I put on my turn signal and I coasted to the side of the road, turn off my car waited a few minutes the turned back on and put it in drive. The car would not move forward. The engine just revved up like I had it in neutral. I put it back in park then put it in reverse. The car would operate in reverse. Had to have car towed to dealership. Three months prior to this incident, I had to take my car to the dealership because of excessive battery acid on my positive terminal that had eaten through the wiring harness. Had to have harness and battery replaced. I still notice issues of battery acid accumulating around the screws on the battery harness and positive lead again.

27 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

All of this is while the car is in motion on both on freeways and city streets. Failure of the canister purge valve solenoid; engine light on due to bad filler inlet neck and had to replaced filler inlet; the vehicle needed the fuel filler tube replaced; emissions evaporation system error codes; "check fuel inlet" error keeps coming on. I've had to take my car in for repeated code failures related to the fill inlet. Canister had to be replaced twice. Firestone noticed several Ford Fusions with these similar problems. Safety concerns regarding distraction from engine light (stopped on freeway because I was afraid to drive the car), and check fuel inlet errors were worrisome. I had to clean the filler inlet which didn't resolve the issues. I can't remember all the exact dates of when I had to take the car in for service.

28 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2017

When I put fuel in my car it starts to act janky not wanting to start or anything , also it's showing a recall on the vehicle.

29 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2017

On-going issue with fuel fill inlet. Inlet door does not close and seal properly which causes my engine light to come on and stay on. Gas-capless system.

30 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2016

Two codes keep coming up. P0457 and p1450. These are for the emissions evaporation system. The dealer has completed recall repair and claims it is ok.

31 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/09/2016

6 months old car had transmition and electrical problems, driver door lock not opening, ac went out! air bags sensor out, and now experiencing 2nd transmition issue. Dealership is not taking full responsibility for it, as transmition was replaced at another garage! have been dealing with this car since 2012. Hard jerking.

32 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2016

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 55 mph, the inlet fuel warning indicator inadvertently illuminated. In addition, while making turns, the steering wheel seized and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer and previously repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,904.

33 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2016

Car keeps stalling during acceleration. Engine code p2111.

34 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2016

The purge canister valve has been replaced, but the fuel smell still remains while it is stationary and running.

35 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2016

Csp 13n03 as previously reported etb problems caused my car to abruptly drop power/rpm to ~1000rpm. Later identified issue to be related to etb and took to my Ford dealer expecting new software and/or etb replacement per 13n03. Dealer replaced but then begged off requesting I pay warranty repair cost of $122 because "manual transmission" vehicles and those not assembled in mexico were not covered. I am absolutely certain that my issue was exactly that covered by 13n03 and feel that having the power loss "limp mode" occur in a manual transmission vehicle actually put me at more risk because of the greater speed loss due to the direct connected drive path. Luckily it was late at night on a less traveled road allowing me to coast off safely onto the shoulder. I paid the $122 since they had already done the work before realizing that my car was not covered, and the throttle body alone would have cost me $75+, but I cannot understand how this is not a full-fledged recall and doesn't cover every vehicle with this type of etb? all this because of what sounds like incorrect/insufficient motor connection plating and/or bulb grease (contact enhancer).
