1 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2018

This vehicle has had multiple heater/ac fan motor inoperative problems. Without the blower fan working there is no defrost or ability to clear the windshield, resulting in reduced or no visibility. The first repair was Aug 18th, 2016. Mileage was 36110. A heater control assembly was replaced at a cost of $426. 05. The second repair was Aug 29th, 2016. The mileage was 36251. The blower resistor wiring to the fan assembly was replaced for $371. 27. The third repair was Jul 12th, 2018. Mileage was 46594. The blower motor was replaced along with the same wiring done at the second repair for $618. 98. Ford would not help with the cost of any repairs. After reading Ford Fusion forums on the internet, this problem appears to be common. This is a safety issue as the windshield can fog up quickly in winter or summer, and icing can build up in winter causing loss of visibility. It is dangerous to try to clear the windshield while the car is in motion. I think this problem should be considered for a recall. I have the invoices to send if needed but no access to a scanner at this time.

2 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2016

The transmission or engine slams at various speeds and starting and stopping the transmission slams the car forward. The rear view mirror has started to peel away from the glass causing major vision problems. I asked the dealer about the issue and they told me to call customer service. Needless to say I still have the same mirror.

3 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2016

Wipers quit working in middle of windshield. Attempt to speed up delay and will not slow down. If operator tries to slow the delay speed down speed will not decrease. Transmission slams after highway travel and locks up drive tire at times.

4 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 01/29/2016

While driving on the highway to work on January 29, 2016 I turned on my wipers to clean the windshield after I turned the wipers off they stopped in the middle of the windshield, effecting my vision while driving. Once off, they will intermittently turn themselves on and off for a period sometimes stopping in the field of vision.

5 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the driver interior handle bar had broken. The contact also stated in order to open the vehicle door the window had to be open from the exterior handle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not provided. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000. Ak.

6 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2011

Every time I drive in pouring rain, it is very hard to see and have to slow way down. The wipers are not fast enough to keep the rain off windshield on this 2011 Ford Fusion. This is a safety issue and should be corrected by Ford. (I had a Buick before this car and it had a fast wiper speed). I believe this windshield motor should be recalled and replaced with a faster motor. Looks like I will be buying a Buick next time.
