Seat Belt problem #1

The engine malfunctioned and faulty rear seat belt, it is not available for inspection because it started a fire that destroyed by car. The remains of the car is at a savage yard. We were put at risk because we were driving/riding in the car at the time it starting burning. We were able to pull the car over and park it in a gas station parking lot before it became fully engulfed in flames. I am reaching out to Ford. Since it was not an accident involved, the fire department inspected the vehicle and determine the fire started in the engine. Insurance representative has determined it is a total loss. There were no warning lamps or messages from the car. However, what caused us to detect something was wrong was the thick smoke started filling the car's cabin at which time we immediately pulled over. When we stopped the car, actual flames came from under the hoods towards the windshield of the car and we proceed to exit the car. My granddaughter in the back seat was having a hard time releasing herself from her seat belt.

Seat Belt problem #6

The engine coolant continually needs to be refilled, and has resulted in the car overheating multiple times. I have had the coolant system checked multiple times for leaks and they say that the pressure test doesn't show any leaking. I have had to pull over on the side of the highway twice since I've had the car to wait for it to cool down to put coolant in, which I now have to carry in the trunk because it happens so often. I don't know if the engine is just running hotter than it should and causing this but I would like to know if this has been a problem with other Fusions because its become a big safety issue when I have to pull off the highway to fix the car. Also, I don't know if this has been a problem with other Fords but the seatbelt constantly locks while trying to put it on whether the car is on or off.

Iissue 1) put the back seat down to get into trunk and it wont go back up due to the seat belts issue. Because I dont really use the back seat, I havent bothered to get it fixed and pay for it out of my pocket. 2) driving over 55 mph, car lost power steering. Apparently this is not new according to this website. Also have no working airbags as a sensor for the seatbelt is not working. To fix that will be $300+ but I refuse to pay for this as there is a recall in place for that also!! we are loyal Ford customers and to find out Ford knows about this is infuriating. We are now looking to trade this Fusion in (only 75k miles on it) but do we go with another Ford or a different make. To have to even ask this question astounds me. Ford - fix the problems!!!.

Seat Belt problem #37

Rear middle seat belt locks each time the upper seat portion is lowered, regardless of it it is latched or not. Car does not have to be on or moving for this to occur. To remedy, the bottom seat has to be removed, and seat belt unbolted from car. I am concerned the belt could lock around a person if seated there. There is no leeway in the belt to pull to try and release the tension. Have experienced numerous times, beginning in December 2017.

From the day I first drove my car off the lot it was a 2013 Ford Fusion s it's gray. I started the engine and then sat in the driver's seat before I put it in drive I hear a loud thumping noise generating from the back end of my car. And it's still doing it 4 months later non-stop and I cannot figure out what's going on also there is a rusted hole in my muffler. Also often times when I am driving when accelerating the transmission has a huge lag in it and sometimes it sticks without shifting to the proper gear to accelerate, sometimes I have to actually manually shift the gears. And it gets very rough when it slips and slides and makes a big drop which also shakes the entire vehicle and it also impairs the driving performance. And another thing is the seat belt, the rear middle seat of my vehicle when installing a child safety seat the middle seat belt got all jammed up and would not work at all. I had to replace it with an aftermarket seat belt because Ford didn't want to fix it for free and wanted to charge me upwards of $400 just for the seat belt that wasn't my fault that I got damaged I just installed the child seat like the local police showed me to and then once I got it out the seat belt it's not working. They say it's not a part of the recall which I already have 4 recalls on my vehicle that is not yet fixed.

Seat Belt problem #56

Rear center passenger seat stops working and locks up in the folded-down seat position making the two passenger-side seats unusable or usable by disengaging the seat belt completely. This repeatable defect occurs when the passenger-side rear seat is folded down. This causes the seatbelt to lock-up and therefore impedes returning the seat to the normal raised position. The user either looses the availability to use the seat or use it in a matter that it was not intended while seating a passenger with no restraining device as the restraining device is stuck holding the backrest down. It should be of additional concern that this defect may be an indication of greater dangers if it is an indication of a general failure of the restraining system that may not function properly upon a collision.

Takata recall. Can I get it fixed ? also something with my door.

Seat Belt problem #58

I received a recall for a defective seat belt assembly in my 2013 Ford Fusion weeks ago. Because this vehicle is used in a fleet capacity, I pulled it from service immediately. I talked to Ford and was told there is no remedy at this time. I then asked for a loaner vehicle until my vehicle was safe to drive and was told that Ford doesn't have a rental program for recalls. I don't know how this manufacture doesn't have a plan to rectify an inconvenience that their customers have to go through regarding a problem that wasn't the customers fault to begin with. I'm very unhappy Ford treats customers like this.

Takata recall- I saw Ford Fusion on the recall list and I got a letter saying that I would be receiving $500 for my trouble with the recall. On the takata list for recipients of $500 I saw that my car should be recalled and I haven't received the letter from Ford yet. It's also not in your recall list. Also there is a seatbelt recall 11/30/16 and that is very dangerous to not to have a solution yet. Please help. It's recall # 16v875000 my VIN is 3fa6p0hr2dr306430. Thank you. I've been so scared to drive this car. I thought I wouldn't be on the list and 2 years later find out I am. Ford didn't even tell me. It's not even on your list. I found out from the lawsuit that I am a claimant also. I have 2 dangerous recalls. They should give me a new car.

I folded the back seat down and when I went to put it up the seat belt for the middle passenger in the back seat locked and I could not get the seat to come up. I went to the Ford dealership and they cut the belt and said they would order another belt. While they were cutting the belt the comment was made this is the 5th or 6th car we have come in with this problem. I started to think this is one dealership, how many more cars owners have had this happen to them. I think this is a real safety issue.

Seat Belt problem #87

These recalls have been out since Apr 23rd, 2015 and Nov 30th 2016 and Ford still does not have parts. It seems to me that it defeats the purpose of a recall. In this case it appears that the company is simply waiting it out until the owner gets a new car and then they do not need to do anything.

Seat Belt problem #96

Hit deer going 45 miles an hour when he ran out in front of me. Vehicle check was deployed. Said airbag activated. Neither the airbag went off nor did the seat belt restraint tightened. Obtained 7000. 00 in front end damage including radiator, hood fenders and pushed in driver door. Police officer checked the airbag for me and stated that I needed to let them know it should have deployed and did not. Had vehicle towed and called peck Ford. After 3 weeks in the auto repair stated they ran a check and it seemed the airbag was fine. They had to do a realignment and the radiator hose and bolts snapped off plus the body work. Ford stated it was in a recall but that they would not have the parts for a year. I told them I was afraid to drive it and told them about the accident and the failure of the airbag to deploy nor the restraints. Peck Ford also stated that there was not much they could do unless the airbag light stayed on when car was operating. Previously, in summer of 2014, I wrote the warranty center because my headliner had to be replaced due to wrinkling and falling in front. They replaced the headliner but it started happening again so I wrote them in summer of 2014. They stated the only recall they had was for the airbag and that I should stop driving the car immediately and call Ford. I called them and they said there was no parts available and stated then that the airbag light had to be on. Fast forward two months later and I hit a deer, no airbag deployed, the restraints did not work. Fearful when driving the car now and no help available. Driver seat now sags to one side.

Seat Belt problem #97

Was driving approximately 50 miles per hour when deer hit car in front . The impact took out front bumper bumper guard hood left fender and left door. The radiator bolts cracked and dropped the radiator. I was thrown forward but neither seat belt tightened or air bag went off. The system radio went into system check and continually checked , stating airbag deployed but it did not deploy. One side of the seat on drivers side will not rise when trying to bring seat up and so seat sags to left officer that I called to the scene stated that it looked like the airbag started to deploy but when I got the car fixed they said they found the airbag still in tack. Both parties police and mechanic stated that they were surprised airbag did not go off. I called Ford about the recall and they said cannot repair unless air bag light is on . I wrote safety for Ford and they said the same thing. I called dealer back and they stated that I cannot bring in till letter arrives because the parts to replace would not be in till end of 2015.
