This past Sunday our son drove our Fusion less than 1. 5 miles to church, parked it and went inside. Around 5 minutes later, someone saw smoke coming out of it. The engine compartment caught on fire. The car had not been driven before that since Thursday evening. The car had the recall work done over 2 years earlier when we purchased it for the coolant issue suspected of engine fires. The car had no other issues and had it's state inspection a little over a month ago. Our insurance company has decided not to conduct an investigation as to the cause. Is this something you would be interested in investigating?.
Passenger car door lock latch won't close, the latch is down but it won't lock when I shut the door.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the air conditioning unit was inoperable. While attempting to roll the windows down, the window failed to respond. The vehicle was taken to barkhouser motors inc (3604 riverside dr, danville, va 24541) and the contact was informed there was no communication between the control modules. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but offered no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 101,000.
The cars dashboard lights kept lighting up and not long after I was on the freeway and the car caught onfire under the hood and burnt down complete loss.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. While driving at 70 mph the indicator light indicated that the transmission was in park while the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle lost power and shut off. The dealer diagnosed that the problem was caused by a defective purge valve. The contact was able to pull over and use the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was able to restart and the contact drive to his residence. The vehicle was taken to the d & d motors, inc. (13655 e wade hampton blvd, greer, SC 29651) and they performed a diagnostic test. They advised that there was no recall on the vehicle. The manufacturer confirmed no recalls and no further assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 105,000.
My Ford Fusion has had a consistent electrical problem that affects many aspects of the vehicle. To start, I will receive a message on the dashboard that reads temporarily lost connection with the climate control. This leads me to not having any control of temperature, seat warmers, ac, etc. I have also lost the control of opening or closing the both windows on the passenger side. This has forced me to keep the window open overnight. I am worried about anyone getting into my vehicle or potentially stealing it. I'm tired of this possible shortage that is happening and I have read many other's complaints about the same issues.
My car idles roughly, and has stalled while driving. It has no outstanding recalls, and still happened. A few months ago it was happening, and on my way to a repair shop, overheated, and did over $700 worth of damage. Now, a few months later, it's got a rough idle and stalled on me yesterday as well. I was slowing down to take an exit, but took the exit with no power. Restarted the car and was able to drive it home.
My 2013 Ford Fusion power steering failed, get power assist failure message as well as lane assist failure message very dangerous.
Power steering gave out. I was driving in a rural area and the car became extremely hard to turn, and upon starting the vehicle, very very tight steering wheel.
Constantly getting a message on dash "power steering assist fault". Occasionally a message about transmission comes up but too quick to read. See that Ford has done a recall on both of these items but haven't actually issued it yet. My VIN is not showing as one affected despite getting these messages. I am hearing some sort of noise that we can not identify and worry it is something with either one of these issues. Hard to describe the noise but replaced brakes and rotors thinking it could be that but the noise is still there. Worried this could cause a accident. Not sure why Ford does a recall but doesn't send it out when it is a known problem. Usually hear the noise while slowing. Message on dash is random but always while vehicle is in motion. Doesn't stay on long and happens at least 1-2 a week. Started back in December 2019.
Recently, I have been having issues with my electrical system/acceleration. I have a hard time getting my max a/c light to stay on and sometimes my radio display is delayed of coming on. Also, sometimes when I start my car, the dinging sounds distorted like my battery is about to die and I have a hard time starting the car. I started to think my battery was going bad but then one day I was driving down the road (in motion), my car was still running and no warning lights displayed, but I lost all acceleration. I had to limp my car to the nearest parking lot as I could not get any gas power. I turned my car off and immediately turned it back on and it worked just fine. Then a couple weeks later it did the same thing. I again had to shut it off, restart, and it worked fine. I have not had that issue since then but it is still worrisome. Luckily I was not put in danger especially since my 6 yo son was with me. I would hate to think of the outcome if this happened on the interstate or somewhere when I could not easily pull over to the side of the road. Is there a recall on this?.
The car stalled while driving at highway speeds without enough warning or time that would normally be required to bring it to a safe stop. Luckily I managed to avoid a catastrophe on this occasion. Subsequently, while I was waiting for a tow, I managed to get the engine started. But the stall reoccured a few minutes later (this time I was wiser and had moved over to surface streets). This on-off pattern would repeat itself several times. I never drove it on the highway again, after the first occurrence. For the sake of safety, I had it towed to the dealership for diagnosis.
Frequently, when driving and the car has to idle- in traffic, at stop lights, etc. - the engine will stutter and shut off. This will happen repeatedly until the engine is driven at an increased speed.
I was driving about 45 mph and the driver side door opened on it's own and I can not get it to shut now. When the door opened I grabbed for it and it swung back and smacked my arm and hand and they are swollen bruised and sore. The door ajar indicator light up and the dinging started to alert me the door was open. Went to a near by Ford dealership and they informed me that my vehicle was not listed on the recall. This has been an ongoing issue with the whole electrical system not functioning properly. One evening I put my car in drive to leave a parking garage and it would go in reverse while in drive (reverse camera is on the whole time) and when I put it in drive it would drive in reverse. I had to drive home with my gear in reverse just so I could drive forward.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving in inclement weather the climate control and windshield defroster became inoperable. The failure also caused the windows to become inoperable. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. Gengras Ford, 225 new britain Ave, plainville, CT 06062, (860)793-8885, was contacted by phone and informed of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38000. Ah.
On 10/10/2019, my temperature gauged spiked up to high and instantly dropped back down to normal while stopped at a red light, then the car disabled itself, leaving me stranded. Replaced the temp. Sensor and added coolant and was able to restart the car. On 10/30/2019 it happened again while driving on city streets, leaving me stranded for a second time, so I replaced the temp. Sensor again thinking it was defective. On 10/12/2019, it happened two more times, also while driving on city streets, and with doing more research, I found it stemmed from a manufacturing recall #17s09/ NHTSA recall #17v209, (coolant leaks/engine over heating). On 10/14/2019, I called advantage Ford in stuart, FL and was told to bring my car in on 10/23/2019 to have the recalls(which I was never notified of) taken care of. On 10/16/2019, my car started blowing white smoke out of the exhaust and when I called back advantage Ford, they told me to bring it in right away. Since my car was no longer drive-able, I had to have it towed to the dealer. When I spoke to the technician at Ford, he said that they would take care of the recall and replace a hose that was leaking, but that the damage was already done to the engine, probably bad rings (because the coolant leaked causing the engine to overheat gunking up the oil in the engine), and that this was our fault and that I should trade the car in while it still runs! he wasn't sure of what the problem was, nor did he suggest any type of repairs, just that this was our problem. On 10/22/2019, I called Ford customer service and reported the problem. I was given a case # and was told that I would be contacted by a regional customer service manager. On 10/28/2019, we were told by the manager that their Ford mechanics would have to breakdown the engine to see exactly what caused the sludge and if they are at fault or if this is our problem.
I was traveling with my family and a light came on the dash. I pulled over to check my manual and it said it was a power steering fault. Once I started my car again the power steering was completely gone and I had to drive 10 hours back home with no power steering which was extremely hard for someone who has never driven a vehicle like that. I seen online there was a recall for 23 Ford Fusions but of course mine isn’t on the list. I found 177 complaints on this and I don’t understand why this is not a recall. If this had happened while driving I could have been seriously injured or killed or harmed another life. Please take that into consideration!.
My family and I drove to the beach and we parked. Then when were driving home on the freeway I lost power in the steering wheel. It took all my strength/ muscle to keep control of car. That is when a light came on. I managed to get home at that point we pulled out the manual to look up the symbol. It too about 1 hour along with the internet just to figure that it was the power assisted system. It stated that the steering would be with out power and could potential lose control all together. We immediately called to have it towed from home to dealer after looking up recalls I noticed their was a recall for the same thing that happen to me but on the east coast. However my VIN number said my car was not part of that recall. But the year make model was. It is my belief that Ford should be responsible to fix this issue not only because of that but even though my car is a 2013 it have less than 30,000 miles on it. Showing it was not driven much or missed used. It is obviously a defect in part or manufacture installation or whatever. Very disappointed in my Ford dealers and company for not fixing it and making me do so espacial because there is a recall on it out there showing it is a defect.
Lost complete power and control of car no acceleration when pressing gas in the middle of street car slows down without no warning after parking the car a wreck indicator flash. This is the 2nd time it's hit down on me I had it repaid last year and it's happening again my life is at risk with this car shutting off on its own it's not fair that I'm being held responsible to pay for this faulty death trap vehicle. I couldn't drive my car in the middle of the road.
My driver door is not locking . . Do to the door latch recall . . I have not yet got a recall on it . . My door will open while driving. .
My vehicle had a recall on it in 2016 for the door latches not working. The latches were supposedly all replaced at the dealership after the recall. In September of 2018,I opened my back door and tried to close it and it would not latch again. I had to rope my door shut to get it to the dealership and the supposedly put another latch on that door. On Friday March 29 I was driving home from work and my driver side door unlatched on its own again. I tried to shut it as I was driving and had to stop on the side of the highway. I took it to the nearest Ford dealership to me and they told me I would have to pay full price for the recall. The dealership I got the car at is too far so I called them to have it towed there but they would not honor the recall. On the morning of April 1 I spoke with Ford customer care and that there is nothing that they can do. My car is undriveable and Ford will not help with the problem. Ford expects me to pay $600 every 6 months when their recalled parts stopped working or not drive my car at all. My door flung open while I was on the road and that is extremely dangerous as I could have fallen out or hit someone and caused a wreck. I believe it is very dangerous to drive my car in its current condition. My door has to be roped shut so that no one will try to steal my car or something out of my car. The door will not even stay closed due to the wind. The recall may have been done but the problem still remains.
Have not brough to dealer yet, however all my lights lit up and have not turned of so far. Advancetrac, blindspot, rear camera assist, abs, etc. . Basically all my assist have come on. Since they have come on my steering has been tough, as if the electrical assist was disabled because its combined with the abs system. According to a youtube video posted online, the problem is a corroded or malfunctioning wire in the abs driver (or passenger?) side of the wheel well. "issue was my driver front tire. . . It's the wire harness that goes back to the cpu from the abs speed sensor. This should be a recall in my opinion as a lot of people are having this issue which causes electrical power steering assist to turn off making it harder to turn the steering wheel" quoted from the youtube video. Where the wires connect or something along that line. It would be really appreciated if Ford looked into this and made a recall. This is not safe considering it disables some (or all) of your steering capabilities. More detail: all lights have lit up before during the first snow-fall (but shortly after turned off). I purchased the car with 70,000 miles on it, in July of 18'. It is now March of 19' and we've had warm days up until today, when we had snow again here in central new york. Now the problem arises again. Please recall this issue.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. While driving, the vehicle jerked. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was an electrical failure and the transmission needed to be reset. In addition, the front lower control arms on both sides of the vehicle detached. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 124,973.
My car has been skipping and hesitation with power train or transmission while driving whenever it wants. It’s nothing specific to make that happen. Last week back power windows quit working. Now. . . . Started car in drive, steering was locked. Drove back and forth, tried different gears, tried restarting, it finally started by turning key over. Came home, parked in driveway, can’t get steering to unlock at all now! I am over an hour away from home, so whenever it decides to turn, I can head home. But after reading these reviews, do I dare? does Ford want us owners to die, or the innocent we may hit? either way I would sue because they cannot deny knowing there’s a problem!.
I was driving down the street. My car had no signs of trouble. Suddenly smoke started coming from the heat vents on the dash. I was able to pull into a parking lot and get out of the vehicle. At this time I saw flames coming out from under the hood. I called 911. By the time of arrival of the fire dept the car was fully involved in flames.
The vehicle has an electrical glitch and when attempting to park the car it will show as park but will actually slip into neutral and roll forward or back if in a slight hill. Also an manufacturing error is causing the car to abruptly stop while on driving. The rpms will increase by itself and then suddenly fall to 0 and the car will not be able to move. All the electrical components will still be on I. E. Radio , heat , lights but the car will not move. It's no warning as to when it will just suddenly stop so it's extremely unsafe if driving on a highway.
Tamara recall check engine light remains on and car shutters sporadically.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion energi. The contact received NHTSA campaign number 18v592000 equipment. The contact stated that cord was smoking and overheated at the wall outlet, replaced by contact twice,. . The contact called the local dealer salinas valley Ford Lincoln 1100 auto center cir, salinas, CA 93907 (831) 444-4444 who stated that the vehicle does not have the original part for recall repair, the manufacturer was not contacted the failure mileage was 60,000. Loud cracking sounds coming from speakers caused by a failed audio control module, only 82k miles in. Car battery draining, weekly required jump-starts with brand new battery installed.
Key not detected message came on with the key in the ignition as I was driving. Then the next day it would not start.

Car engine burned up out of nowhere.
Our call had a recall , never got notice and the recall on this vehicle localized overheating my cylinder head to crack, result in fire in engine and this is what happened to our 2013 Ford Fusion.
Driver seat I have a Ford Fusion 2013 that I purchased brand new and have already had many issues (some recalls and some not). I am currently having issues with my driver seat motor that moves seat Ford and back for leg room. The side of the seat closest to middle console (right side) seems stuck and will not move forward. This results in a diagonally angled seat. I am not a tall person, therefore this issues makes me unable to drive my car. I have researched this issue and see several others have had this same issue. We brought it into the Ford dealership where we purchased the car and the cost for said issue is over $2,000. 00. Seems like if multiple people are having this issue then there was clearly something wrong from the beginning. Also- I see there is another seat recall from 2014 (front seat backrest replacement) to which the motor and seat electrical connectors are removed/replaced/or adjusted. Leads me to think this may be an issues associated with this recall. I am dishing out the cost of this repair. . I do not have any other option right now. But I am greatly disappointed with this issues and Ford denying responsibility for this issues even though several Ford customers have had the same issue. Sadly, this makes me distrust purchasing a Ford vehicle again.
A letter was mailed to me on April 2017 informing me of safety recall 17s09. We have been in contact with our local dealership to have this inspected and repaired when parts became available. The special order for parts was not placed until 7/3/18. They have not come in yet, per our local dealership, and I have documentation of all of this. On Saturday 8/8/2018 the fire department was called to my residence to put out an engine compartment fire due to thisrecall issue. The engine started smoking as I pulled into my driveway with my 6 year old daughter in the car. No warning lights or engine overheating signals had alerted me. The fire escalated very quickly, and flames were seen coming drom under the hood and on the underside of the car. The vehicle is a total loss, and this has created a major financial hardship for our family.
