After I drive the car, and turn it off, then come back 30-45 minutes later, and start the car up, the engine shuts off or I drive it 200ft. , the car shakes violently, and then turns off. This has happened to me while parked and while moving in bumper to bumper traffic. This has happened multiple times over the last few months. The issue seems to only happen when the car is stationary or moving at low speeds.
Ford Fusion 2013 while driving fuel gas cap will make a noise of air coming out, if it continues the car will turn off even when driving or stationary on both highway and street has happened more than 4 times Ford agency said they will not fix it.
Hello, on 03/14/2019 I chatted Ford on my numerous recalls on my 2013 Ford Fusion. I was given case# (xxxxx) and told to take to a Ford dealership for assessment on prior recall repairs. In 2017 we had a coolant recall and was told by dave littleton Ford in smithville, mo. That we had anti-freeze all over our engine and they had to replace the whole engine. We never had any problems or signs that it had a coolant problem? we took in because we got the recall notice. My car has never ran right since. It idles fast etc. In December our flex plate cracked, now 3 months later it cracked again. Our mechanic says the engine does not appear to have been lined up correctly with the transmission and we will continue to have issues because of the shotty mechanical work done by dave littleton Ford. We have taken to gary crossley Ford in kc, mo. They also agree there is shotty mechanical work done to the engine repair due to recall? we have been 2 weeks with no word on how this issue is going to be resolved and are without a car? I need some answers? the engine was not aligned correctly and sealant was put in places it should not have been when replaced. I am no mechanic but they have submitted in the claim they are sending in with greater detail candice says:the reason I am asking these questions is because we are not able to view claims entered by the dealer. I want to understand what it is that they were waiting for. So, they can complete the repair, they are just waiting for Ford to say it can be done under the recall, is that correct? amy says: yes if I was not sold a car with a faulty part I would not have had coolant all over my engine to have to be replaced. If an appointed Ford mechanic had correctly replaced engine I would not be in this situation? Ford continues to close claims and ignore issues! case#(xxxxx) parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. My car shutters at an idol or slowly taking off where it shuts off. This has happened more then once and the scary thing is I've pulled out in a intersection and the car shuts off. I have to put it in park and restart it. It's happening more often now my engine light just came on after this happing for over a month now.
Tamara recall check engine light remains on and car shutters sporadically.
My car is around 86,000 miles and in the past month started to shut off after about a 30 minute drive. My Fusion makes a sound distinctive sound before this happens, somewhat loud and goes in and out. Engine completely seizes if I'm coming to a stop and I heard the sound. Car also has trouble starting after refueling.
Car stalling out while driving when the car has plenty of fuel. No check engine light will go on then goes off but the same issue is happening. This is a known issue with this model also a recall was issues but looks loke they missed my car. Car stalls out when im in traffic. Really whenever it wants to.
Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while the vehicle was stationed, a strong odor of gasoline was detected coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to fairway Ford 2323 laurens rd, greenville, SC 29607 (864) 242- 5060 where the contact is currently waiting on results from the diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Car cuts off and will not start code reads fule rail.
The idle of my engine is rough and when at a low idle in traffic it feels like it's going to stall. Lately, my car completely stalled driving at low speed up a parking structure. It completely stalled again when pulling into my driveway. I took it in, but the mechanic couldn't find a sensor triggering the issue.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start after it was fueled. The contact had to make several attempts to start the vehicle. Also, the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to echelon Ford (4 s white horse pike, stratford, NJ 8084, (888) 439-2609) where it was diagnosed that the valve in the fueling system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 93,448.
My vehicle has stalled while driving and is hard to start after fueling with gas. After taking it to Ford for recalls in October of 2018 and brought the issue up and they wanted to charge me for diagnostic. After taking my car to my mechanic shop for oil change and to look into the issue of stalling, they made me aware of the purge balance needing replaced and that would solve the issue with the vehicle stalling. Apparently, Ford knew this defect since 2013 and paid for replacement if a complaint was filed. Now into 2019, 93,000 miles and no warranty, Ford doesn't want to assist in paying for the replacement. I don't feel I should be responsible for paying for the repair. It is very dangerous to have the car stall in the road and around busy traffic.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact recieved notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17v209000 (engine nd engine cooling). However, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for recall repair. The Ford dealer located in gem city Ford Lincoln (888) 532-6840 5101 broadway st, quincy, IL 62305 was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and were not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. (parts distribution disconnect). Jw.
I have a 2013 Ford Fusion that I just had to replace the. Take booster on, 8000 miles out of warranty. . . And now1 week later, my turbo has went out! gonna cost over $1000 to fix, not to mention the 400$ for the brake booster. . I have always been a Ford fan! but this is definitely putting a bad taste in my mouth!!!!! I could understand if the car had a lot of miles on it. . . . But 68,0000 miles???? come on!!!!.
It reads in the warning section I was over heating than the engine light came on. And it won't keep idle when I fill it up with gas I have to set for 10 to 15 mins before it will keep idle for me to drive it.
My 2013 Ford Fusion dies after it warms up as I go into a intersection it dies have to restart it. Could be very dangerous. Almost scared to drive it. Please look into this this thank you.
Engine stalls while driving with no warning may increase the risk of a crash. After it stalls you can put it in park, apply break and it will restart. This is not a good thing to happen on a highway. No fault code or service lights. It always does this after it has set for about an hour after running and then will stall about the time you get on the road. ( 200 feet ).
This 2013 Ford Fusion has begun randomly sputtering and then stalling when accelerating (the vehicle has 95,000 miles on it). You can put it in park and restart it just fine, but then may do it again in 30 second or never again the rest of the trip. It does not appear to be an issue if the car is cold or has been sitting a long time. It tends to appear once you stop for 10-20 minutes and get back in the vehicle - but even then, can be hit and miss. Lately in this scenario it's been stalling 2 to 3 times before running fine. After doing some research, this appears to be a recognized Ford issue with the throttle body. While Ford appears to recognize this issue and has extended the warranty on some 2013 Ford Fusions (under customer satisfaction program 13n03), I called my local dealer and they indicated that my vehicle was not included in that program. The cost of the repair was quoted at $875 plus tax of which only $120 was labor - this makes the part $755. I can't believe that Ford is not addressing this across the entire line. I have already been in multiple places where I have had traffic coming at me or behind me when the vehicle fails. In fact, the other day it died pulling out of a store in front of two oncoming lanes of traffic - fortunately both vehicles coming directly at my drivers side were able to get their vehicles stopped before t-boning me. Please require Ford to expand its program.
I own a 2013 Ford Fusion with 94,000 miles on it. I was driving to work on a one lane road and the gas pedal became unresponsive. There was no indication that anything was wrong prior to the loss of acceleration control. I had no control over acceleration/throttle; however, power remained on in the vehicle. The check engine light came on and then a wrench light that said check manual. I was traveling 65mph and had to pull over. I turned the car off and then on again and it started up. I had it towed to the nearest repair shop. The repair shop performed a fuel system service and cleared the check engine and check manual lights. Four days later as I was driving to work it happened again. This time I had to pull over 3 times and once where I had to turn off the car and turn back on in the one lane road as there was no pull off area. After the last time I restarted the car, I had a reduced throttle but managed to make it about 2 miles to work (at this point the speed is reduced to 45mph). I had the car towed to the same repair shop. The repair shop had their master mechanic look at the vehicle when it was determined that the throttle body needed to be replaced. This has solved the problem. I did some research and found that Ford issued a consumer satisfaction program 13n03. This was to include certain 2009 through 2013 model year Fusion, milan, escape and mariner vehicles. I contacted Ford and was told based on the VIN number that my vehicle is not included in the consumer satisfaction program 13n03. My concern is that this vehicle had the exact same problem as those with the vins in the consumer satisfaction program. This could have resulted in an accident with no prior warning other than the sudden loss of acceleration/throttle.
My car has stalled on me many times while driving on flat road, down a hill and coming out of a parking lot, engine light is now on.
Car will stall when it is it is low rpm. It is more likely to stall after I have fueled up my car from it being low on calls. I can see the car shuddering and then drop the rpm very low. It has died when I have been in traffic before when I'm stopped at a light. It has died when I was leaving for work and backing out of my driveway. I noticed the issue of the car shuddering when I'm driving at low rpm and even when I'm coasting down a hill. I have went to the dealership several times for this issue and they have never eliminated the problem. It may have got a little better where it doesn't die as much but I definitely have to pay close attention when I just get fuel otherwise I'm afraid my call will stall at a stoplight. I called Ford's customer service today to see if there was anything related to my issue as a recall but there was not. I asked the lady if she has heard of this issue and she said that it's a fairly common problem she hears about the Fusion and other Ford models "shuddering". Most recently I have had my battery replaced. Previously I had warranty work done in 2016 for the fuel pressure sensor to be replaced that cost $100 deducdible. Neither of these repairs made any significant difference. I also experience that at low rpm there is hesitation when accelerating. There was other people I found online that have these issues and they suggested the "electronic throttle body" fixed their issue and they were covered by a extended warranty customer satisfaction program, but apparently my VIN is not in that list.
Car goes into limp mode and wont accelerate. Sometimes cleared with engine restart. Then it got worse and throttle would not accelerate engine at all. Car was towed to Ford dealership. Bad throttle body diagnosed. Over 800. 00 to fix. I see a lot of complaints online about Ford throttle bodies on Fusions and many are warrantied under Ford csp 13n03, but apparently my Ford isn't covered. Not sure why.
Gas is leaking from the underside of the vehicle. First noticed a gas smell from the air vents so I initially thought a leaking injector, however when I looked under the car it was clearly leaking gas from somewhere. I did some minor research and saw that this year has several recalls for leaking fuel systems however I can't find a recall for this under this particular VIN.
My vehichle has had the check engine light go on and off numerous times in the last six months, and smelled a funny smell coming through the vents. I get regular maintenance, have had the codes read as well as diagnostic test performed. The most I have been told is that there was a p144c code which is something to do with the fuel system wrong. Now when driving the vehicle began to stall. I took my car in to Ford they told me that I needed 3000 dollars in work done and have yet to address the 17s09 recall even upon my concerns. I was treated unfairly at my local Ford and took my car to another shop. Now am being told that my car has been overheating and that my cylinder head gasket needs replaced. I have been in contact with Ford and they wont even help, until they send a letter to me next week. My car is already in the shop and the recall needs to be adressed. I need help.
While driving at low speed (less than 10mph) the car begins to run very rough, rpm drops, and when pressing the accelerator, there is no power, and the car then dies. It can be restarted, but it's a bit harder than normal, and then it runs. Twice happened in parking lots, but once pulling into traffic from a parking lot, nearly causing an accident. Dealership has charged $190 only to tell me they can find nothing wrong. Serious safety issue. Ford case #cas11900027.
After turning on the ignition and starting to drive away, the car engine will sputter, acts like its starving for fuel, starts bucking and then shuts off. No codes or warning lights are displayed. This has happened in parking lots and on street parking. It is very dangerous and I almost got in an accident when attempting to pull into traffic from a parallel parking stall on the street. Pressing on the accelerator has no affect. After restarting the engine, it runs fine until I turn off the car. Then it is random if it will occur at the next engine start. After owning the car for 3. 5 years, this just started happening last week. It has happened 8 times over the last 7 days. At first is only happened 1 a day, but recently it is happening multiple times a day.
Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the fuel flap was not sealed tightly causing air into the fuel lines. The service engine light was randomly illuminating. The vehicle was taken to a dealer porter Ford, 600 ogletown rd, newark, DE 19711, (302) 738-0800 who diagnosed that the fuel flap needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, indicated that the vehicle was not included in any recalls and had issued 1 fuel system recall and 5 TSB on the fuel system. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. Dyd.
After driving 10-25 miles and stopping for a short break to grocery shop or visit family. Starting the car up again and backing/pulling out of parking spot or drive way - it stalls. Power stays on, but engine fluctuates rpm in a lunging fashion before puttering out. This can happen multiple times a day or every couple of days it's very random. I have talked to another Ford Fusion owner and they have had very similar issues.
Left my house drove 5 miles, stopped to sisters house to drop off an item, 2-3 minutes later walked outside and found flames coming out of the hood on the passenger side near windshield. Barely able to open door quick enough to get my purse out and it was engulfed. Woke up a neighbor who came over with a truck to drag it away from house and garage. Wasn't for him my sisters house would been lost as it took 25 minutes for fire department to show up. Only thing not burned is the taillights. Obviously there was an issue in the engine compartment. Have read about a recall for this specific model for this specific reason. Feeling like my insurance is not going to be very helpful with damages. What else can be done?.
Car dies while idling. Was pulling onto a major highway on Saturday when it completed died, was able to quickly put car into neutral and restart it.
Beginning approximately 4 months ago, from a cold start in either a reverse or forward direction, my car would slowly lose power and within 30 seconds, stall. The electronics still function, however the car must be put into park, turned off, then restarted. After researching, I discovered that my car did fit the requirements for the "recall" given to 2013 Fusions based on its assembly plant and assembly date. I visited my dealer, however they were unable to help because there "was no code thrown. " indeed, no wrench or engine warning light was given at the time of my car stalling. It has now happened nearly a dozen times - the most recent occurring on Dec 10, 2016 - and I expect it to keep happening unless the electronic throttle body is fixed. Because the dealer believes that I do not fit within the requirements however, I am unable to have this issue taken care of.
This car (2013 Ford Fusion ecoboost) is approx 3 years old with only 59k miles. At slow speeds such as pulling out of a parking lot or coasting to a slow speed at a light or stop sign the engine just dies like it ran out of gas. You have to pull over and stop the car. You then have to restart the car. After a few seconds it starts just fine. It's random but becoming more frequent. It's a safety concern and dangerous to drive in heavy traffic. The dealer said it's probably the electronic throttle body a very well known issue according to postings. Part is $700 and labor $200 for a part that is covered under warranty for other Ford Fusion but not the ecoboost! . National highway traffic administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation into sudden surges and power loss in Ford engines. By March of 2014, Ford agreed to a massive ¿customer satisfaction program¿ that extended the etb warranty to 10 years or 150,000 miles for certain vehicles. For whatever reason, Ford refuses to call it a recall. O 2009-2013 Ford escape o 2009-2013 Ford Fusion o 2009-2013 Mercury mariner o 2009-2013 Mercury milan the dealer is saying they cannot find anything wrong but did replace the battery for a fee. It is random as I told the dealer before and really beginging to think they do not want to do anything about the issue. Very dangerous if someone pulls out in traffic and the car stalls out. . This car (2013 Ford Fusion ecoboost) is 3 years old with only 50k miles. At slow speeds such as pulling out of a parking lot or coasting to a slow speed at a light or stop sign the engine just dies like it ran out of gas. You have to pull over and stop the car. You then have to restart the car. After a few seconds it starts just fine. It's random but becoming more frequent. It happened 3 times to my wife the other day. It's a safety concern and dangerous to drive in heavy traffic. The dealer said it's probably the electonic throttle body a very well known issue according to postings. Part is $700 and labor $200 for a part that is covered under warranty for other Ford Fusions but not the ecoboost! my last Ford Fusion had the same problem. That cost me $500. I guess I didn't learn my lesson then but I've learned my lesson now. Will get rid of this car and never buy Ford again. I look at every Ford Fusion on the road now as a death trap waiting to happen. I hope to get rid of mine in time.
Car lost power and started revving going up a hill. Wouldn't accelerate. Next day it wouldn't start. It's still at the shop and they have no idea what's wrong.
Fuel leaking and you all sent out a recall 13v227000 on 05/31/2003 which Ford is saying that my car is not covered because they recalled cars built on Feb 11, 2003 & my car was built Feb 20,2003 in the same factory in hermosillo, mexico. I purchased the vehicle 1 year ago & I should not be responsible to replace this part. The vehicle in inoperable at this point due to the fuel leaking. This is a safety hazard. The recall sent out by NHTSA does not specify a model or build date therefore; cars build within the same month in the same Ford plant should've been honored. I cannot afford to pay for a $300 part for I am a college student with limited income.
