Had a new rebuilt transmission after having less than a year now gears getting stuck and won't shift. And as your driving it does and rough idle. Seems to be never ending!.
The charger for this car has a recall on it. Mine melted before the recall was put in place. I threw what was left of it away. For the recall, 2 dealers have now told me that I have to have the old one in order to get a new one. I also tried contacting Ford directly. All they said was to try a different dealer.
When extremely cold or hot air conditioner, heater, windows, locks, radio will not work.
I just boight this CA 10/22/21 from a local dealership, I realized the car had issues by the 3rd day after when the car had a front tire blowout and after I repaired both tires on drivers side I contacted the dealership to talk to them about the alignment cause the car was pulling. The dealership had there automotive specialist drive the vehiacle. The diagnosis to my complaint was that the vehicle was fine and would make to California and back. About a week later the car was giving me error that the charging system needed attention. The dealership has given me limited warranty when I purchased but have a strict rule about bringing in vehicle by 9am but I was unable to get a scheduled date confirmed so I tried charging the battery with cables at that point the cables caught on fire after difusing that issue I was able to jump car and get home the next day I purchased a battery charger and charged my battery at home for 24 hours . I appplied battery in the car the day after and wemt to test drive it, it left me stranded and I had to have it towed home the car had completely shut down at that point so I took in my own hands to just send it to the local Ford dealership instead of the dealership where I bought car from cause the length of time it takes to get them to call you back is lengthy and I need to get to work and back its important so I had car towed from my home to maxwell Ford. I also had learned of 6 recalls that had been left unattended to so I figured I would get those fixed at the same time as the issue with the battery . The vehicle has been in the shop since the 11th of December with now a cost of almost 5600 dollars and thats where I am with things.
Battery chronically drains when car is sitting for a day or more. This has been happening since we purchased the car in 2016. It seems as if all the components of the car aren't shutting off completely (even when we check carefully to make sure they are off) or that they are coming on later after the car is turned off. This means we never know when the car will die and leave us stranded somewhere. We've replaced the battery several times and the dealership can't seem to fix this ongoing problem. This is also a problem that many other people report as an issue online.
Driver’s climate fault. Temporary lost communication with the climate system when this happens the a/c goes out and the windows will not roll down. It it way too hot in texas for me wife and kids to get stuck with the windows up and the a/c not working. We have it at the dealership several time it their fix does not last.
The charger for the plug-in hybrid component of the vehicle started a fire that damaged my property and vehicle. Ford failed to provide a replacement of the recalled charger, including when vehicle was at dealerships, despite my request at the time. Had I not noticed the fire immediately, it likely would have been catastrophic. Fortunately, I was able to use all of a full fire extinguisher to put it out. I contacted Ford about this matter and was told by their corporate customer service that they had no information or assistance of any kind to provide me. I requested a manager call me however I have not received a call back.
I was driving at reg speed(55) down a flat highway. The warning sound and dash lights came on. Startled me. . The "hill assist does not work at this time"?? light came on. Also 2 red lights at the bottom. I tried to see what the other lights were after I jumped and floated over to the rumble strips. . Just bought the car yesterday. . Happened twice today. . .
Check engine light and wrench light illuminated on the car Sunday. However, the car was at the dealer twice the same week before this happened. I pulled over because the vehicle was performing rough into a lowes parking lot. I was within several hundred feet of a Ford dealer and drove it there. The vehicle smelled like smoke and noise from the rear of the vehicle. Service advisor roxanne detgen, t. No. 586-840-1086, at dorian Ford, says that the car likely needs a new engine. She has contacted Ford motor company and then will contact me to authorize a teardown of the engine. The vehicle is a safety risk because it had sudden poor driving performance without the illumination of any lights, loss of power, and is a fire hazard. In fact, it was at the dealer twice the same week this happened and no lights were on.
I was driving around a 2 lane roundabout when my cars steering wheel lost power steering causing me to swerve into outside lane almost hitting another vehicle. There were no other warning lights on before this happened but after the incident I had a steering assist, hill top and advanced traction control lights come on. And now have no power steering.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion energi. The contact stated while driving at various speeds the vehicle would lose functionaility of all safety features including a/c and power windows. The contact stated check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to local dealer (napa Ford 570 soscol Ave, napa, CA 94559 (707) 255-2580) where it was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of failure and told the contact to bring it into a dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000. Dl.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that upon driving after the vehicle had been exposed to rain or water at the carwash, the side mirrors would readjust unintendedly while driving. The contact stated while driving at 75 mph and changing lanes, the failure reoccurred, causing him to lose visibility of another vehicle, which almost led to a crash. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the side mirrors rewiring needed to be completed. The dealer informed the contact that he would need to pay a repair fee; however, the contact declined as he considered the issue a manufacturer safety defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.
While driving or stationary, the vehicle's trunk lid opens on its own. Driving conditions, speed, etc. Do not seem to pertain to the issue.
My trunk keeps popping open. It does not matter if my car is in motion or parked. The doors unlock/lock when trunk pops open and the lights flash (as if walking out to your car and hitting unlock on key fob). It seems to happen more often in direct sunlight but does happen during the night as well.
The power windows all quit working at the same time. After a few weeks the passenger front window started working. I took the car in for a recall, at that time I asked them to check the windows as well as the locks. The only way to lock the car was the key fob. No codes came up when put on dialysis. The windows all worked after they checked, they suggested replacing the masterwindow switch. I declined since the windows worked. Shortly after my control panel quit working I cannot get any heat or air. This wil periodically work for a few minutes then quit. Recently the low tire pressure system will come on, tire pressures are perfect, after turning off the car the light goes away. Everything except the tire light has happened while driving and while parked. Tire pressure has only happened while driving. Also when the console quit working the outside temperature does not show on the dash.
Trunk popping open, steering recalls, fire hazard from charging cable. These are safefy issues I would like to get fixed!!.
My Fusion had inoperable wipers and turn signals. The steering wheel controls would not work or toggle between any information. The blinkers would not work at all. Wipers would only work on full speed. I had to drive for 20 miles and then everything started to work again.
The trunk will pop open by itself at different times. Sometimes sitting in the driveway, other times it has happened while the car was driving. Ford dealership hasn't been able to recreate the issue and says nothing is wrong. This has been a commonplace complaint on various Ford forums.
Back up camera would be in park. As sonn as I put the car in reverse the screen would go black other times it would go in and out. Sunroof seal is leaking!!! engine- I notices when im at the stop light turns green my vehicle take a few seconds to accelerate, it makes a horrible pull straightforward motion. I notices the body paint chips horrible in odd places on the vehicle.
I've had my car for 5 years. 6 months after I purchased it it started showing transmission issues. It's almost like it gets stuck in a gear when trying to accelerate , and then it flings your forward. When driving up a hill it won't go over 30mph. I took it in over 2 years ago to Ford and was told a transmission recall for 2014 Ford Fusions was coming. 2 years later and I'm being told my car doesn't qualify but is showing all the signs that's listed on the recall. Just last week my car shut off while driving on the freeway with my kids in the car. Since it's happened 3 times. Since it started shutting off while driving a new issue has progressed. My car now jerks when trying to accelerate. If I have the heater in it smells like something is burning. We used a code reader and it told us transmission issues but Ford still says I don't qualify.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that on several occasions in reverse, the backover camera became inoperable. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. Cogswell motors (1900 e main st, russellville, ar 72801, (479) 968-2665) was contacted and informed of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000. Ah.
Appearlly Ford motor company knew about apim system malfunctioning that they extended the warrant starting from 2014 for 5 years and didn't notify to the customers so after your warranty is gone the apim system will no longer work and by law all manufacturing need to notify of any abnormal situation on your vehicle. Their understanding is that this does not fall under a safety recall, but without having the speakers or sound working you will not hear your seatbelt chime you will not hear your motor senses chime when crossing a-line, you will not hear your vehicles chime reversing nor will you see your camera. I have seen 1000ths of people having the same problem and Ford will not fix it because "their warranty has expired" they are requesting $1000 to fix it. Hopefully this can be announced for another customers before their warranty expires and they don't have to pay 1000 dollars like myself.
I went to a dealership in north vernon indiana and I was told when the parts come in I’ll get a call no one called me to notify me about any parts to fix my recall I never gotten my door latches fixed.
I was driving on expressway with my kids. When the steering wheel lock up mid driving and I couldnt control the wheel very dangerous. Especially happening on the expressway with my children aboard. Worst could have happen but thank god I was able to Dodge an car an slow down to I stop an turn on hazzer lights and break. I couldnt turn the wheel at all it was very scary experience. It was displaying messages pwer steering failure and one other message. I tried turning car off and turning it back on but that didnt work. I had to get the car towed to Ford dealership in union city, GA. Where they found out it was the pwersteering system that failed costing $2600 in repairs that I didnt have and I needed my car for work. So I had to come up with the money to fix an repair that shouldnt have happen. My kids and I could have been killed. This happen June 2020 I have called several times sudmitted documents of repairs and reciepts. Still no world on adding it to the recall list to save others knowning this has been an major issue in these cars as well as I was told that you all would reimburse me for repairs. Still no word yet and its been a year. Someone please help.
Back up camera malfunction. Camera display will either be black or zoomed in and mirrored. Has gotten worse to the point the camera fails 99% of the time due to the height of the rear seats visibility is greatly affected. Happens when placing car in reverse.
Vehicle was stationary foot on brakes in reverse. My sister touched the back of the car with her hand I heard a loud beeeeeeep then never heard any sound again. Not even when the keys are left in the ignition or when I'm unbuckled. Not a single sound. Then 3 months later the brakes were stalling so I got new rotors and pads and they still stall/ shake. As if that wasn't enough now it just doesn't start: I've googled all these problems and I'm not the only one. Ford should not be allowed to keep selling the same broken cars.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated when attempting to start the vehicle he discovered the vehicle needed to be jump started by another vehicle. After the vehicle was turned off the contact attempted to restart the vehicle and the failure reccured. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of this issue. The failure mileage was 90,251. Tp.
Drove a short distance to meet a friend. When I came out to go home my dash lights would not work, door chime and seat presets inoperative. Also determined on the way home that I had no turn signals, window controls, high beams or radio. Looked online to discover that Fords are susceptible to electrical issues. The low key battery warning had been on all day prior to this happening. This is very dangerous as it is winter here and we are expecting rain and snow.
The car will pulsate and shake when driving, then the check engine light would come on. You can't accelerate, like there no accelerating in then the car cut off, which is danger. I have had this car for less then a year, I just payed close to 1,000 bucks getting it fix from having electrical problems that my warranty did not cover. I had to take to the shop for things that was or recalled. , in now this. I think I was sell a lemon.
Turn signals suddenly did not function/wipers also non -function - steering wheel button controls - non- function did some internet research and several had the same issue happen - several Ford techs resolved with cycling the high beams on the vehicles- I did the same and resolved the issue as well- this is a safety hazard and fellow Ford Fusion owners need to be alerted this can happen suddenly .
I have lost ability to accelerate while driving on highway and vehicle would not go above 40 mph on I-20, a 70mph road system, car jolts or jumps even without foot on accelerator so that I have no control over the car's acceleration. Gas gauge jumps wildly and randomly from 22 mpg to 99 mpg. Brake lights and other lighting systems remain on when car is completely shut down and headlights and interior lights are turned to off position. Additionally, after the car is in park and turned off, vehicle will jump forward several inches. Several additional inconsistent light issues when car is turned on and off. Passenger seatbelt does not work. Problems began 2018 and continue to present day. Local Ford dealership unconcerned and unhelpful in prioritizing the repairs after multiple calls and direct discussion with service manager.
Car has limited power and acceleration. Hesitates when accelerating. When climbing a hill, transmission wont downshift properly. When maneuvering "s" curves you can feel resistance in the steering. There is a wrench light for the restraint system that cant be located.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the failure also occurred while the vehicle was stopped in traffic. The contact stated that the needle for the rpm gauge fluctuated; however, the engine did not rev up. The vehicle stalled, but was able to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to capital Ford of charlotte (5411 n tryon st, charlotte, nc 28213, (844) 242-1515) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to provide a prognosis for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Steering assist fault light on. Power steering went out while driving on city street . Traction control and hill start fault light came. Service advance trac light came on as well.
Car randomly loses complete power. This has happened mostly when starting for first time (when off for awhile) but has also happened at stop sign/light and even while in motion at high speed. There is a clicking noise when this happens (relay chatter). Subsequent restart will yield same results until finally becomes stable and I am able to drive. Only seems to happen during warmer summer months.
