The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving on an incline, the brake pedal was depressed when he felt a pop on his foot from the brake pedal then without warning the brakes failed and he felt the brake pedal was down to the floor. The contact then stated that he had to apply pressure when depressing the brake pedal but failed to completely stop. The contact also stated that he got out of the vehicle to check the front of the vehicle when he noticed that brake fluid had escaped and created a puddle. The vehicle was towed to his residence then towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake line hose failed and needed to be replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that on several occasions he heard a putting noise, and the vehicle would start to shake and failed. The contact also stated that each time he would put gas in the vehicle, it would fail to start. The contact would then rev the engine for the vehicle to accelerate then the rpm would decrease, and the vehicle shut off. The engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that he used his own diagnostic machine and determined that the canister purge valve solenoid failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 121,000.
