2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2022

Was driving when the car started to accelerate by itself. Revved up to higher rpm’s. I put the car in neutral when a safety warning message showed on the screen saying, stop safely now. With a red triangle with an exclamation point in the center. I turned the car off and started it again. As soon as the engine kicked in, it started to accelerate on its own again. Stopped again and let it sit for a bit, started it up again and let it gradually accelerate on its own(didn’t push down on the gas pedal)- didn’t seem to accelerate correctly after that. Car is now sitting.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/22/2021

While driving back home from work on 07/22/21, I heard a noise on the front side of the car and lost power. I had to pull over to a parking spot in an apartment complex. My car wasn't moving forward or backward, I called good sam road assistance to get it towed on Friday, it has been inspected in a repair shop since then and apparently is a transmission issue. Good thing is there were no cars behind or in front of me and avoided a collision.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2021

I was merging into the left lane to take a 30ft roundabout at 20-25 mph and mid circle the cars power steering cut off, pulling car to the outside median. Warning lights came on, loss of traction controls and something to do with hill parking.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2020

I was involved in a major collision on Thursday 8/27 at approximately 3:30pm. While approaching the intersection to make a right turn, I removed my foot from the gas and attempted to brake, but rather than slow down, my car accelerated. When I pressed the brake all the way down it still continued to accelerate until I hit another vehicle which finally stopped my car. I am lucky no one including myself died- this is absolutely unacceptable. Ford continues to have these issues and their negligence is going to harm more people!.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2020

When the engine gets to a warm temperature and then shut off and left for 10 or so minutes, when the engine is restarted, put it drive, within several seconds (15 seconds to 120 seconds) it will begin shuttering and die while driving. Restarting the engine after it quits (which takes about 2 seconds, longer than normal) will start and will again die when beginning to drive. I have been experiencing this issue for about 5-6 months on my Ford with +/- 66k miles. The issue is getting worse and much more frequent. No check engine light or diagnostic codes are present. I have experienced this issue multiple times when turning onto a busy road and it is becoming more and more of a safety concern. I do not experience this issue following a cold engine start.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/04/2020

The steering gear bolts and inner steering gearbox on my 2014 Ford Fusion are visibly corroded. The corrosion on the steering your bolts cause the bolts to snap and health in caused the steering gearbox two separate. There should be no corrosion on the inside of the steering gearbox since the steering gearbox is supposed to be a sealed in it. I contacted Ford motor company on may 20, 2020 to ask them to add my vehicle to the recall list for the steering gearbox the Ford motor company representative who I was speaking with told me my car has been serviced for the recall in October 2018 however my car still have the original bolts to ask them to add my vehicle to the recall list for the steering gear bolt the Ford motor company representative who I was speaking with told me my car had been serviced for the recall in October 2018 however my car still has the original aluminum torque bit head bolts when the bolts snapped in March 2020, I was informed that the recall should have replace the bolts with hex head bolts. I took a lot of pictures and I have videos stored on my mobile phone showing the damages to my vehicles steering gearbox and the steering gear bolts. Ford motor company said that all they can do is note that the bolts have snapped but would not take further responsibility in the matter of issuing recall or repairing the current broken parts in my steering gear motor box unit. Please investigate these issues or add my car to the recall list so that the necessary repairs can be done without costing myself thousands of dollars for something that seems to me to be clearly a recall issue.

10 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2019

I have lost ability to accelerate while driving on highway and vehicle would not go above 40 mph on I-20, a 70mph road system, car jolts or jumps even without foot on accelerator so that I have no control over the car's acceleration. Gas gauge jumps wildly and randomly from 22 mpg to 99 mpg. Brake lights and other lighting systems remain on when car is completely shut down and headlights and interior lights are turned to off position. Additionally, after the car is in park and turned off, vehicle will jump forward several inches. Several additional inconsistent light issues when car is turned on and off. Passenger seatbelt does not work. Problems began 2018 and continue to present day. Local Ford dealership unconcerned and unhelpful in prioritizing the repairs after multiple calls and direct discussion with service manager.

11 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2019

While driving car down highway at approx 70 mph, suddenly the brakes stop functioning normaly making it almost impossible to stop vehicle without using emergency brake. Also experience extreme loss of power making it difficult to reach a speed of 35 mph with pedal pushed to floor. Ford dealership diagnosed as vacuum pump. Ford vacuum pump purchased and replaced. Within 3 weeks exact same issue again on interstate. Brakes nearly useless to bring car to a stop, loss of power. Had to have vehicle towed to get it home. Called to question warranty on Ford vacuum pump - informed vacuum pump is on "national backorder" and can't even be given an approximate date as to when a new part will be available. Maybe it's time for a recall???.

12 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2019

My car is a 2014 Ford Fusion I purchased at the dealership 2 years ago. Never had a problem until recently. After I turn on my car and switch gear to "drive" my car will shut down within 20 feet. I have to park the car and wait a few minutes and try again; it always happens later on during the day when driving off a parking lot. The main problem is that the "check engine" light never comes of, but there is certainly a problem when the car shuts down on it's own; it never shuts off while driving at high speed, but I am truly concern with this matter. I took my car to the dealership to get to the bottom of the problem. I was advised it will cost me $110. 00 for a diagnostic, which I paid. I waited for 4 hours and according to the mechanic the antifreeze is mixing with the engine oil and that's what cause the car to stall occasionally and the cost of repair will be $2,100. 00. When I checked the car along with a personal mechanic there is no indication of anything mixing with the engine oil, the oil is clean is not milky and it smells fine. Bottom line I am not happy with the fact that there is no recall for this serious issue and even more so that Ford dealership was so dishonest about the car symptoms. Needless to say I will not buy a Ford again and still don't know what's wrong with my car.

16 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2017

. I have a 2014 Ford Fusion that has a total of eight safety recalls. I have only received one safety notice recall regarding the passenger front seatbelt from Ford motors. The notice did not state a timeline indicating when the issue would be resolve. I contact Ford motors to get a timeline and was advised by a representative that Ford is currently working on the recall and doesn't have any updates. I stated my disappointment and concerns with Ford motors. I also stress that my family safety is being compromise by riding in an unsafe car. She stated to me that Ford cannot help me with a hypothetical situation. Ford does not care about the safety of its drivers.

17 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2016

The O2 sensor has burnt out, & has been burnt out for a while. After refueling at any gas station the vehicle will not start up immediately after the key is turned. It takes several attempts to get the engine to recieve fuel & to turn over, and even then it struggles to start up or keep running. I have tried different patterns of pressing the gas pedal, alternating pressure & time without finding a reliable method. The vehicle has turned off if I do not keep the mph above 15mph for at least 10 minutes, & if I stop for longer than 60seconds, it sometimes turns off. This has caused issues in light traffic, especially with the difference in speed between my car shutting off & coasting, & cars passing at 25mph or greater. The dealership refuses to acknowledge that the O2 sensor has issues, but my personal mechanic had confirmed the issue after I had the vehicle inspected at a branch of the automotive repair chain midas. After having the sensor replaced at meineke in sept 2016, it burnt out again in October 2016. Attached is the repair reciept which we finally found today while packing for our move.
