Seat Belt problem #1

When it gets warm outside, the seatbelt on the driver's side freezes in the resting position, so I cannot buckle up before I drive. It takes a while before I can use the buckle. This means I either drive unsafely to a meeting or wait for the inside of the car to cool down enough to buckle up to drive. I have let Ford know (case number: cxh-02550071-n4s4m4).

Seat Belt problem #2

The right rear passenger seat belt to my 2015 Ford Fusion stopped functioning several months ago. The strap that goes over the passenger's shoulder is stuck for reasons I am able to determine.

Seat Belt problem #3

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while parked, upon starting the vehicle, all the warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact noticed later that the airbag warning light stayed illuminated; the light has since gone out on its own. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed failure with the front passenger side seat belt. The vehicle was not repaired due to the contact declining service because she previously had the dealer replace the seat position sensor. The manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to contact NHTSA; a case was not opened. The failure mileage was 41,690.

Seat Belt problem #4

On may 15, 2023 I got in my car, proceeded to drive off when I noticed that the airbag light was still illuminated on the instrument panel. I notified the dealership the next day and dropped my car off on may 17, 2023. On may 19 a diagnostics test was run and revealed that I had a faulty seat belt buckle. I declined service on the car. This was shocking to me since I took my car to them less than 4000 miles and less than a year ago for the airbag light staying on again in 2022. At that time it was revealed that it was the passenger seat position sensor & it was repaired. In 2020 my car was also a part of recall 19s25 for the seat belt. In 2018 repairs were also done on my car due to the airbag light coming on as well. I'm driving the car but now don't know if it is safe to drive. When I picked up the car, the light was still on but about 4-5 days later the light went off by itself. The passenger seat has barely been used since I purchased the car in 2015. After the repairs were done in 2022, the seat/seat belt has not been used so I don't understand how it can be faulty. It seems to me that there's a defect somewhere and it should be investigated. I would appreciate if this is given serious consideration. When I spoke with Ford motor company, they told me to contact you to have you investigate the matter. I am working with the customer relations rep with Ford of franklin- ms. Lauren distephano at 931-538-0339 regarding this matter.

Seat Belt problem #5

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the driver’s side seat belt has seized. The contact stated that the seat belt was inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the seat belt mechanism was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

Seat Belt problem #6

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact while attempting to came to a complete , the contact stated felt a boeing feeling coming for the brake panel before coming to a complete stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was not able to be determined. On a separate occasion, the contact stated that while driving 30 mph and her child was saying his seat beat in the rear passenger side was tight on him, the contact pulled over and pulled and attempting to pull the seat beat loosen the seat belt but it would not loosen up. The contact shut off the vehicle so the seat beat to loosen but it still would not loosen. The contact had to cut the seat beat to unstrap her child. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that there were no recalls on the rear seat belt. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approx. 80,000.

Seat Belt problem #7

Passenger side rear seat seat belt will not retract.

Seat Belt problem #8

Last year I took my Fusion in for a couple of recalls at gary smith Ford. One of the two recalls regarded my front passenger seatbelt. It wouldn't extend out properly without having to take extra measures. I had a recall letter in the mail regarding this error and it was apparently noted that the belt was fixed, but it is still not.

Seat Belt problem #9

Fuse continues to pop. The vehicle was driven to a grocery store and after the shopping the vehicle started up briefly then died. We changed the fuse at the parking lot but it popped the fuse again. We ended up having it towed. The mechanic believes it is a fuel pump issue or wiring to the fuel pump. We are on military orders in italy and have been unable to reach Ford to authorize repair since we do have a valid extended warranty. Italian Ford dealers will not work on american spec cars. We have a certified mechanic who has access to Ford but needs the authorization code in order to start repairs and recalls. We are getting the run around with Ford's customer service hotlines and no one seems to be willing to help. We cannot ship the vehicle back to the states with active recalls on it. The vehicle is completely broke down currently. We are upset on how Ford supports its military!.

Seat Belt problem #10

The back driver side seat belt is stuck and will not come out. The retractor keeps locking up. The vehicle was not in a collision. The breaks were not ever hit hard. It worked fine the day before. The next morning, my child tried to strap herself up and it would not come out. The vehicle was stationary in the drive way. The other seatbelts work fine.

Seat Belt problem #11

Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at any speed, the air bag light illuminated and stayed on and off. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v590000 (seat belts) the contact also stated that she received an unknown air bag recall letter. The contact took the vehicle to the bob rohrman schaumburg Ford dealer (847-605-0800 located at 815 east golf road, schaumburg, IL 60173) where the dealer stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was called but the line was busy. The failure mileage was approximately 139,888. Fe.

Seat Belt problem #12

The driver's side seatbelt or passenger restraint once unlocked to get out of car the restraint (belt) apparently went all the way back up in the housing leaving my daughter without that safety feature when she came out of work to drive home. After she got home and tinkered with the housing it sounded like a metal ball moved inside the housing and she was able to get the belt to release and hasn't had a significant problem since. All of this happened while stationary. She was able to put the restraint on that morning. Didn't notice the problem until she got back in the car to come home. So the car was parked for 10 hours, as she didn't notice it until she got in the car to drive home. Apparently happened when she got out of the car as she heard nothing unusual when she exited the parked car to go into work. It was when she came out and got in the car the safety belt wouldn't release from the housing part of the safety restraint.

Seat Belt problem #13

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the driver's side seat belt. Was locked and unusable . The seat belt warning indicator light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to north central Ford 1819 n central expy, richardson, TX 75080 (972) 584-1338 but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 69,212. The contact stated that the failure was similar to NHTSA campaign number 16v875000 seat belts. Ap.

Seat Belt problem #14

Vehicle displayed airbag warning light. After Ford inspected the vehicle they stated that the defect was in the driver's seat belt buckle and that it would need to be replaced at a cost of $400. Ford stated that the defect would not allow the air bags to deploy. I asked for my vehicle back but had to pay $89 for diagnostics. Took vehicle home and removed driver belt buckle and discovered wire broken at base of buckle (see attached images). This defect that will not allow airbags to deploy and involves a broken wire in the belt buckle should be a safety recall. Otherwise, what will happen is all the vehicles that have broken wires will not get fixed and the only defense is the seat beat alone.

Seat Belt problem #15

Seat belt locks up and fails to extend. I believe this is related to existing NHTSA id 10109079 based on my VIN. This happened to both myself and my wife while driving my vehicle and it prevents the driver from having a full range of motion while operating the vehicle, and in one case prevented my wife from being able to properly exit the vehicle trapping her inside for a while. A driver being uncomfortably restrained and lacking full range of motion while operating a motor vehicle is, in both of our opinions, a major safety concern as it is not only a distraction but physically impairs the driver while the vehicle is in operation at highway speeds. When I made the dealership aware of the issue and requested repairs under warranty they did not make me aware of the TSB/NHTSA notice on this and refused repair and instead told me to perform maintenance myself in the form of "spray it with wd40" with no further instructions. In the process of "spraying it with wd40" I was injured by a retractor coil spring as Ford motor company had covered up a manufacturer warning label changing a critical "do not remove" warning giving instead the opposite meaning of "remove" which lead me to believe this was the serviceable component I was meant to "spray with wd40". Upon opening it the retractor coil spring then shot out and struck me near my eye socket resulting in possible injury induced myokymia. Attempts to contact Ford have failed and the dealership has been mostly uncooperative on the issue and has directed me to Ford. I still remain unaware as to how the warning on the seat belt assembly was modified, why repairs were refused under warranty when notified of the safety issue, and why the safety issue was ignored when a TSB exists that makes it clear Ford was aware such safety issues exist with their safety restraint system.

Seat Belt problem #16

The buckle on the center rear seat strap is installed backwards causing it to be twisted when buckled. It will not untwist. This is a major safty hazzard as seat belts worn incorrectly can cause damage to internal organs when an accident. This has rendered my midle rear seat unsafe to use.

Seat Belt problem #17

My daughter and son were exiting the car from the rear seat and mentioned that the seatbelts would not go back. Rear right-hand and left side seatbelts are locked and will not retract.

Seat Belt problem #18

Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v875000 (air bags) and 18v167000 (steering) however, the parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called felix sabates Ford Lincoln dealership at (704) 552-2760 located at 7601 s blvd, charlotte, nc 28273 where it was confirmed parts were not available. The manufacturer was not contacted and made aware of the issue. The contact had not experience a failure. VIN tool confirms part not available and part distribution disconnect. Aw.

Seat Belt problem #19

Takata recall I did a wheel aligment on 2015 Ford Fusion cause it pulls right real hard on acceleration. The aligment said it was just fine but the toe was out of adjustment in the front and rear tires. The car still pulls right on ecceleration and now its pulls harder sometimes. My other problem is I can't pull the seat to put it on it's stuck and Ford is telling me it's not a warranty problem. I'm mad Ford wont fix there screw ups and once this is fixed I will never buy another Ford product again.

Seat Belt problem #20

Takata recall. . . . My girlfriend wrecked my car off a t-road trying to miss deer and did major damage to the front end. The air bags did not deploy at all. Seat belt didn't restrain her either, she hit steering wheel extremely hard. She was on a highway.

Seat Belt problem #21

Approx. 32k miles. Car had been parked for about 4 hours on level surface street. Sunny day, about 80 deg. F. Upon starting the vehicle to drive, the drivers seat belt was seized in retracted position and would not extend. After jerking on the belt 4-5 times as hard and quick as possible the belt has freed up for now; however, I have no idea if this will be a recurring problem or a common problem. Vehicle details: 2015 Ford Fusion se hybrid.

Seat Belt problem #22

The driver's side seatbelt won't extend while the car is off. It locks up. Because the seatbelt won't release, I can't fasten it into the buckle. Because I can't put-on the driver's side seatbelt, I can't drive the car. The seatbelt also locks up while I'm driving the vehicle, so I can't move around freely to reach the control panel. This happens so frequently I had to have it towed to the dealer because I can't drive without a seatbelt. The dealer can't reproduce the problem. I contacted Ford, and they said because they can't reproduce the problem, they can't help me.

Seat Belt problem #23

Air bags did not deploy in crash. Dealer repaired said vehicle and seat belts work sometimes as well as instrument panel. Vehicle constantly pulls to the right. Dealer says nothing wrong. Other issues but not safety related.

Seat Belt problem #24

When my petite wife sits in the passenger seat the airbag remains off. She is 5'1, approximately 100lbs. The dealer stated the car was designed that way and did not want to look into the issue. We had the same problem with our 2010 Subaru legacy, though I never reported it. Is this correct? are the front passenger airbags for this car designed and tested not to go off for someone her size?.
