I was at the gas station when I got out of my car after turning it off while I went inside to pay. I was moving swiftly because I had to get back to work. I looked outside and my car had rolled away from the pump, nearly in the city street before I reached it. I immediately ran outside after it, hopped in & put my foot on the brake. I was confused when I saw the gear still in park. . It was then that I looked at the dash and saw it was stuck in neutral. Some guys helped me push it back to the pump and I had to put the parking brake on in order to keep it from rolling again. A nearby mechanic looked under my hood and discovered that the shifter cable bushing had degraded. I called Ford and set up an appointment. The problem was still not fixed.
I just got home pulled in my driveway. Put the car in park and realeased the brake. The car started moving forward while appearing to be in park. I looked at gears and car was in shift even though I put it in park. Then shifter was stuck and wouldn't let me move it. So I had to turn the car off. Then I released the brake and it started rolling backwards. I had to put the car s emergency brake on. I had a tow truck come to pick it up to tow to the dealership, he looked and confirmed that the gear bushing broke. He did something manually so he was able to reverse the car and pull it on the tow truck. I saw online that there is a recall on this exact thing, but my car wasn't on the recall when it should be. What if I was on the freeway and it broke. Very dangerous.
2016 Ford Fusion - pulled into parking spot at work, switched the gear into park, locked and exited my car. Suddenly, the vehicle began to roll in reverse. I had to quickly unlock and get back in the car to pull the parking break - the gear display on the dash panel indicated neutral, but the gear shift was stuck in park. The car could not be moved, it was towed to dealership - repair performed 'trans stuck in park, but car is actually in neutral, found shift cable off of transmission replace shift cable bushing, reattach shift cable, test ok. " charged me $99. 58 pulled purchase paperwork my car was assembled in flat rock - matches recall, I have not moved. Where is my recall letter? my dealership won't honor/reimburse for the repair without the recall letter. Mileage was at 78,348.
I pulled into the gas station parking lot, and put my car in park. I began to get out of my car and it started rolling backwards. I got back in and found that my transmission was stuck in the neutral position. I could not get it in the park position.
Yesterday, I put my car in reverse to get out of a parking space. When I shifted my automatic into drive, the car continued to back up. I put my car into park to see what was wrong. Although my shifter was in park, my car was stuck in neutral and began to coast forward. I unable to get my car into part. Ford sent me a recall notice that states that this is a problem (safety recall notice 18s29/ NHTSA recall 18v471). I had my car towed to the nearest Ford dealership (bob davidson Ford). The next morning the dealership service department called and I would have to pay $576 to repair the faulty part that is subject to the recall. That makes absolutely no sense. First, why should I have to pay to have an unsafe part put in my car until the correct part is available and why should I pay for any repair of a part that is subject to a safety recall?.

Pulled into driveway at home. The car had stopped, and I went to put it in park from drive. Upon movement the shifter became stuck into reverse and on the dash, it read reverse, but the shifter was pushed up to the (p) park mark. The shifter would not move, and car started to roll backward. The brake pedal was stiff and would not move. I pulled the emergency brake. I later found out it was the shifting mechanism that had broke. The bushing that connects the shifting cable to the transmission brake.
