Front passenger door stopped closing on the 10th of July without any warning so I am forced into driving with a partially closed door tied with rope and I see that multiple people have filed a complaint about the same problem.

Driving down the road and the trunk popped open on its own. It has happened multiple times while driving. The trunk will just open up on its own without pushing the button or anything.

Absolute unacceptable level of rust to the body and frame. Even with regular car washes, sitting for a year covered. It’s literally totalled and I am out of a car. It’s a 2012 with this amount of rust.

When key is in ignition and either in on position with engine off or in accessory state the dash starts to click and the hood then releases and opens does not happen when key is not in the ignition and driver door is open or when car is running or when car is locked but does happen if key was just removed from ignition and door has not been opened yet there are not service lights on and all trunk buttons still work when pressed.

Advanced power steering light came on and my steering wheel was hard to turn. The body underneath came apart, and the transmission recall is being handled by my attorney.

Two recalls for this make year and model car had been recalled previously but not for my VIN specifically and the issues are appearing. The first is “doors may open driving” recall on your website and the second is “engine cylinder head may leaks oil” which is also on ur website. Both were recalled for this make and year of the Ford Fusion but not for my VIN so Ford is stating they cannot fix it and want to charge me even for a diagnostic.

Driver door is not locking. Tried with manual key too but not successful. Tried to open door from inside but no success. Looks like door assembly or spring is faulty and designed poorly this can be a safety hazard as driver can't get out of car easily. Pls recall all Ford Fusion 2012 and ask dealers to fix it. I checked few articles forums and youtube videos and everywhere it says there might be a spring problem or some plastic issue in latch or door assembly.

Door handle is stuck/broken. Door cannot open from the inside or outside. Passengers are stuck in car.

My drivers side door will not latch closed due to cracking from extreme heat. When I try and shut my door it doesn't latch and pops open.

Couldn't move steering wheel all of a sudden, drove to store and when I got back in my car, I couldn't turn the wheel and had to get it towed. Nothing happened or changed on the way to the store. When car was first bought, steering would lock up while driving on highway and almost caused accidents multiple times.

All out motors in clio michigan knowingly sells extremely dangerous and unsafe vehicles, takes advantage of young woman with [xxx] son and takes every dollar of hers for a car that is far from driveable after only a c month or two and has been highly unsafe and unreliable and unpredictable since purchase, dealer refused to properly respond to situation and harassed the mechanic who inspected it after purchase when dealer was confronted about safety issues. Every time there was any miniscule imperfection in the road, I would lose control of steering and the car would move into other lanes, unable to immediately correct it. Missing lug nut due to stud snapping off, when trying to replace it, all studs also broke off. All bolts in front caliper and caliper brackets also broke off, along with rear caliper snapping 3 days after vehicle purchase. Car is not drivable after having it 3 months. Multiple times while driving on highway the car would malfunction and lose power or steering wheel would lock up. I want to file a safety complaint against Ford car company for their vehicle in which I purchased which is a 2008 Ford Fusion sel for excessive and dangerous rot and rust problem on the frame and suspension and under component which can lead to accidents if one of these components fall apart . I purchased a 2008 Ford Fusion sel in connecticut which used to be a massachusetts state government vehicle before I've obtained it. It was well maintenance and had no flood damage. But just like a wide range of cars from Ford especially this model that I've purchased has a serious problem with excessive rust which make the car very dangerous to drive. Mind's speaking I've had to have framework done to my vehicle and change multiple suspension parts because of all the rust my transmission pan literally fell apart and all the oil came because it was so rusted. My stabilizer links and control arms have fell apart in which obstructs the steering which also caused a safety hazard for me and other people on the road. Ford has a duty to design their cars with a certain level of weather resistance. After doing research I found that there is a wide range of customers who's having the same having the same problems with this year make and model just like other vehicles that are made by Ford. All the problems that stated in this complaint having verified by ase certified mechanics that I've been working on my vehicle.

My 2019 Ford Fusion while driving, the trunk opens by itself. It blocks the rear view of the vehicle. I had to pull over and close it several times while driving for this. I had to put a bungee cord around the trunk to keep it from opening. The trunk opening by itself is a safety hazard and the contents of what is in the trunk it exposed. I already spent over $210 in repairs with the dealer estimating the cost would be over $1100 including the wire harness from the body control module and including the body control module if the harness does not fix this.

When I went to unload groceries from my 2014 Ford Fusion se, the driver side rear door did not latch closed. Despite not latching, the warning that the door was open did not come on. I read that there was a recall back in 2020 for a similar issue in states that were subjected to warmer temperatures. I have not yet gotten the issue inspected but will be taking the car to a mechanic. Nhtsa is welcome to inspect my car if given enough notice.

The trunk will open by itself. This happens at random time to include while driving. I am seeing lots of other people having the same issue online but now one has found a fix at this time.

The front driver's side door latch failed. The latch would not secure to keep the door closed. The vehicle is at a dealership and could be inspected on request. My safety was put at risk because the latch could have failed while I was driving it. The dealership said they "didn't know why" my vehicle did not have a recall on the door latch as many 2016 Ford Fusions do have that recall. The vehicle is being inspected today by the dealership. There were no warnings for the door latch malfunction.

On hot days the forward collision will show as unavailable, but there is no notification saying when it will be available again. This is dangerous in that a safety feature on the vehicle is unavailable when it is hot outside and has been sitting in the sun. Outer door panel skins are becoming unattached from the door frame, which could cause an issue if the skin fails elsewhere that it would be totally unattached to the door frame and fall off when driving. The rear package tray trim (carpeted trim piece behind the rear seats covering the speakers) disintegrates when it is touched due to it being exposed to the sun. Discovered when attempting to clean inside of my rear window. This has caused black particulate to be scattered throughout the vehicles interior. They are small enough that you could be breathing them in as the debris has been found all over the dashboard, seats, infotainment console, and trim all around the car. My vehicle is a 2016 Ford Fusion se vin3fa6p0h79gr130351. There is currently a recall (20v177000) on 2016 Ford Fusions, however it appears that the recall does not cover my specific vehicle per Ford. In 2021 we had an incident where the driver side door latch broke/stopped functioning causing the door to swing open and the door not securing properly. Upon that incident occurring, I took the vehicle to the dealership (duval Ford, jacksonville florida) for repair, at which time I was told my vehicle was not covered under the recall nor was the issue covered under warranty. Thus I paid approximately $400 to have the repair complete. Yesterday the door latch failed again, this time while driving in traffic as I was coming to a stop at an intersection. The door violently flew open as the vehicle was still moving. Had there been someone standing or walking in the median, the door would have hit them. Upon stopping I attempted to secure the door but it will not secure and just stays open. It will be required to again pay to repair this major safety issue. I believe this safety issue should be covered under the current recall for the same model vehicles in this year. I am concerned that after repair this issue will occur again and could cause a major accident or great bodily harm.

2 car door latches unresponsive and wont lock. Known issue with Ford this VIN isnt covered by recall but same issue.

For the third time in two years my trunk opened while I was driving. Today, it opened while I had lumber in the trunk. Had I been on the freeway this could have caused a serious accident. I confirmed that the button on the dash was not being pushed and the emergency release in the trunk was not pulled either. This seems to be a somewhat common issue with Ford Fusions based on online commentary. Please look into this before it leads to serious injuries or worse. Thank you for your help.

A year ago (2022), the passenger door latch failed for unknown reasons out of the blue. The door simply would not close. At the shop, the technician mentioned that it had mechanically and electrically failed and the door would not latch. A year later (2023), the issue is reoccuring; same (passenger) door and driver door both suddenly will not latch making the car inoperable due to safety risks. Upon research, it seems this issue is common to specific Ford models. Ford Fusion hybrid/energi recall campaign # 20s15/20v177, there is an outstanding recall for certain VIN numbers but Ford refuses to cover my issue despite clear safety concern.

After parking the car, I opened the front passenger door from the outside and then attempted to close it but the door would not latch. The latch was not engaging to keep it should. I can hear the lock working when pressed with the key remote and on the door, but did not change the catching of the door. This is a safety issue because the door is currently tied shut with rope as I am working on getting it fixed. I am concerned that the door could open while driving and windows must be rolled down to tie it, so it is not secured when left parked. A Ford dealer mechanic did look at the door and confirmed the issue as it has still not been fixed. There were no warning signs or issues leading up to the door latch giving way. However there is a current recall on door latches of 2016 Ford Fusions sold in arizona (where the car was bought and still located) with the exact same issue. However, after speaking with the Ford service department they stated that my VIN number was not included in the recall, even though it was the exact same issue.

Right passenger door came open while driving and without warning. The door will not latch to secure the door to the car frame in a closed or secure manner. The door has to be secured with a strap until it can repaired appropriately.

Passenger front door opened while braking at intersection while passenger in seat. Fortunately it did not hit a car next to us. Door had to be held shut by passenger for remainder of trip. Was inspected by Ford dealer and although there is a recall on nearly 250,000 of these door latches to include this specific car for a manufacturing period of 542 days, this car falls outside of it by eighteen days and the dealer wants $832. 00 to fix it.

First of all I drive a 2016 Ford Fusion. Two years ago as I was leaving work my back driver's side door swung open and I thought I forgot to shut it. As I went to attempt to shut it it wouldnt close. My boyfriend had to meet me at work and tie it closed with rope that he had. I contacted Ford and they said they would fix it and charged me almost $500. Now just last week as I get into my passenger side of my car, my boyfriend was driving, as I went to shut the door the same thing happened! it would not close! what if that door lock had broken as we were driving?? I could of fallen out of the car if I didnt have my seatbelt on?? so I do some research online and go back to Ford in delray beach florida. I see that there has been recalls with this exact problem on certain makes and models of Fords! I tell them. That and show the manager and he tells me that my car VIN is not under the recalls! so I tell him than there must be a mistake and my car is supposed to be under that recall and why did I have to pay almost $500 to fix the first door lock that broke?? he looked at me and acted as if he could care less! that is why I am writing you.

For an unknown reason, the car caught fire and exploded while parked in a residential parking lot.

This is the second time my door latch has malfunction. I'm a single parent and to keep having to come out of pocket to get the same issue fixed is a big inconvenience. The inside is broken I have to roll my window down and unlock my door from the outside just to get out of my car. This is a major safety hazard why hasn't the recalled 2012 Ford Fusions been included for the door latches? I can't even lock my door and there has been numerous break-ins close by.

Trunk opens randomly. As seen on many forums it is a common problem. Ford dealer wanted a diag fee with no promises to fix.

Front driver side door handle mechanism breaks and will not open the door when the lock mechanism is in the unlocked position. To open the door from the interior, the driver must roll down the electrically-powered window and use the exterior latch to open the door. Trunk keeps popping open on its own while driving. Has happened at ranging speeds between 5 and 60 mph, different hours throughout the day, temps between 27 and 70 degrees f. The key fob is in clear site, on its own no one holding or any chance of button being pressed. Has also happened while in park, car not running. Came outside and it's open, also no chance of key fob being pressed. Happens multiple times per day. Removed all objects from truck, nothing on inside pressing or near safety release or blocking latch. Duplicated with different drivers and passengers present.

Water is leaking into the trunk of our vehicle through the tail light assembly and soaking all the electrical wiring in the base of the trunk. The wheel well is becoming flooded with water. All the wiring going in and out of the trunk is soaking wet. If you google this issue. Other Ford Fusion owners with older model vehicles and the same tail light assembly are having the exact same issue where water is coming into the trunk from the tail light assembly. This is clearly a design flaw and with water coming inside and covering the electrical system I want to believe this is major safety concern.
