1 Tire Blowout problem of the 2017 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 06/22/2023

I bought 4 tires on 05/13/2023 from discount tire. Exactly 40 days (06/22/2023) from purchase, the sidewall of pssanger side rear tire blew out driving down a busy street with causing other vehicles to make advasive moves to avoid a collission. Discount tire replaced the tire with a different make of tire while stating that the bravuris 5 is no longer made nor sold. Exactly 21 days later (07/13/2023) the second tire (driver rear) blew out the same way the first one did. Both tires blew in the exact same spot on the tire - close to the "safety warning" location on the tire. The first instance I was traveling at 35mph and luckily avoided a collision, the 2nd time I was traveling at 10mph turning a corner-again luckily I was able to avoid a collision. From the time the tires were purchased until the 2nd tire blew out, the vehicle had only been driven about 500-550 miles total.

3 Tire Blowout problem of the 2014 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 03/07/2015

I have a 2014 Ford Fusion that comes with continental tires. In the 14 months I have owned the car , I have had 2 tires blow out. Prior to this car I never had a flat tire, now I've had 2 . The first blowout was at 1000 miles and the second tire blew out at 8000 miles. Both happened on roads where all the other cars drove by without issue. There are complaints all over the internet about how easily continental tires blow out. This is a serious safety risk and also the tires were almost $300 each to replace. Both Ford and continental should take responsibilty for this faulty product and address the safety issue before someone gets seriously injured or killed. Also the tire wrench that comes with the car bent while taking the lugs off, Ford replaced it once, the replacement one also bent while changing the second blown tire.

5 Tire Blowout problem of the 2008 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/30/2014

I purchased a set of 4 nitto motivo tires size 225/45zr18xl with the top rating (y) with a 60,000 mile warranty, dot # 73j7 l6k4213 on March 12, 2014 at discount tire for my 2008 Ford Fusion. My vehicle at the time had 91,602 miles on it and today has just over 107,000 miles. My vehicle was traveling through town with a speed limit of 30 and heard a loud pop noise. The side wall of the front driver side tire blew out causing my vehicle to suddenly pull to the left into oncoming traffic, lost control, and smashed into the driver side fender and pushed the vehicle into a curb thus totaling my car and probably the other vehicle as well at noon today July 30, 2014. The police report reflects mechanical failure as the cause of the accident and I have witness statements from a couple that were traveling behind my vehicle that they, too, heard a loud pop just prior to the accident. I contacted discount tire and was told to bring in the wheel, tire, and pictures and they would forward my information to nitto so that they can start a claim. Nitto did not answer therefore I was given the phone number and I will try to contact them tomorrow. I would like to know what my consumer rights are as far as getting the cost of my vehicle, the other vehicle, medical bills, towing costs, and time loss and suffering paid. This is simply unfair and I am angry that a defect due to their tire has now cost me a loss of my car and neither my insurance or I should have to pay.
