36 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 05/08/2011

Traveling at high speed with cruise control on. Applied brake to slow down for traffic, vehicle continued to slow and would not respond when I applied the accelerator. I had to put the transmission in neutral and had to push gas pedal several times hard before engine would respond. This happened twice while traveling from florida to canada. I had the Ford dealership in wetaskiwin, alberta, canada check the vehicle, they could find nothing wrong. I continue to drive the car, but I am fearful that, if it happens again, I could be rear-ended.

37 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 05/06/2011

As I was passing another vehicle, the vehicle lost power and a warning light illuminated telling me to pull over immediately. Luckily I was able to make it to the side of the highway. The codes pulled were p0010, p0201, p0202, p0203, p0204. The dealer checked the electrical connections and reassembled. The issue happened again on 5/30/11 as I was driving on the highway. The same codes as the first incident was found with an additional code of p1a03. Again the dealer checked the electrical connections and reassembled. I feel this is a safety issue because when you are driving along on the highway the cars around you do not expect you to dramatically slow down. If you manage to safely make it to the side of the road without being in an accident or causing an accident you still face another safety issue being stuck on the side of the road with traffic going by at 65 mph.

38 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 05/04/2011

My air has quit working for the second time in 2 yrs iin my 2006 Ford Fusion. I took it to have it serviced the the tech said that there was nothing he could do. That he had several other Ford Fusions with the same problem. He said that the a/c compressor won't turn on. The a/c evaporator discharge air temperature sensor may have went bad. I would list to add this to the recall list. Thank you!.

39 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2009 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 01/29/2011

The driver of a 2009 Fusion, 4 cylindar se was driving on the freeway and had to accelerate due to merging traffic. The accelerator stuck and the car continued to gain speed even with the foot bieng hard pressed on the brakes. The driver called his father, while driving`, who recommended he turn the key off on click to avoid locking the steering wheel. The driver was able to get the car to the side of the freeway and was unable to start the vehicle and aaa was called to tow the vehicle. The driver's father looked up this type of uncontrolled acceleration on the internet and read about mats causing the pedal to stick. A mat was recently put back in the car. The driver verified that the mat had caused the pedal to stick, it sprung back, and the car was able to start after removing the mat the driver drove it home without incident. This was a poentially very serious situation due to high speed and continuing to increase in speed. The driver could have turned off the car with the result of the steering wheel getting locked causing a high speed uncontrolled vehicle. The driver had his two sons, age 5 and 3 with him. This scared the hell out of the driver and the father. Floor mat info from underside of mat: 6e5j-5413087-aaw fd >tpe< 524 Fusion is on the top of the mat.

40 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2007 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 01/15/2011

From 42,000 to 45,000 miles, over 3 month period, creaking, squeaking suspension sounds at low speed have become progressively worse to the point it is incredibly loud, distracting and annoying. Examination by mechanics yields no explanation. This seriously affects the resale value. I wouldn't buy it, sounding like this, and so far unable to repair it. Would appreciate any advice/help offered.

41 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2008 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 12/01/2010

Drivers interior door handle broke. There wasnt any warning, it just no longer worked. In order to open the door, the "lock" release has to be pulled. When researching the repair, I found mutiple links regarding the repair with numerous moments of defect. Anywhere from 10,000 to 80,000 miles for points of failure. One person even explained that now he can replace his door handle in less than 30. . . Since he has done it so many times. Most recently the Ford f 150 had a recall. . . For broken interio605-r handles.

42 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 11/01/2010

Driver side inner door handle cracked last year, making it difficult to open door. Ford repaired it for $302. Now the left rear inner door handle is cracked. I rarely carry passengers, so it is not due to misuse. My wife was sitting in the back seat and could not get out. Also, it now appears the front passenger handle is beginning to deteriorate. I have contacted the Ford dealership and Ford customer service and they deny responsibility and say it is outside warranty. I believe this problem could be very dangerous.

43 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/05/2010

When driving car 25 miles per hour the car stops jerks decelerates the eventually kicks back up some times it does it with normal speed . Which has almost caused several accidents when car suddenly decelerates stops in the flow of traffic then having to wait till it kicks back up or just try to pull off road to keep from getting hit very scary when driving on highway of in rush hour traffic! or putting on flashers at the last minute hoping not to get hit!.

44 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/02/2010

To begin with I was only having problems when shifting from reverse to forward. I took my car in for the recall and I am still having problems: my car will jerk violently and then slow down to 0. The wrench light comes on and sometimes the transmission light. It has happened going slow as in making a turn, going fast, and going slow in a straight pattern. I have documented the gas because the service tech said it might not be the transmission but something with the fuel. It happens on full, 3/4, half and a quarter of a tank, early morning, after I have driven it for a while. Yesterday it happened 4 times in 4 miles each time I have to shut the engine off, which apparently resets it, because the lights will go off, but then come on when it happens again. This car is dangerous to drive, someone is going to be killed. I have advised my family that if I am rear-ended and death occurs to seek legal council. The service people say they can not do anything unless they can get the car to mimic the problem, or something shows up on the computer. Meanwhile this is my only means of transportation, I also use my car everyday for business. They have not provided me with an alternate means of transportation yet want to keep my car for 4 days. Please do something, there are complaints all over the internet, I am sure you would have more complaints if people knew about you. Can you pull Ford's service records to get a more accurate record of the magnitude of problems. Do something before someone dies.

45 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/01/2010

Millage and date are approximate but very close. The drivers door inside door handle broke, this failure made it impossible to open the car door from the inside. I have pictures documenting the failure which show the location of the failure. This could become very dangerous if the handle broke in a situation where an emergency exit was needed. I have called Ford and registered a complaint with them about this, I have also done some research online and from talking to my local dealer I have found that this is an entirely all to common occurrence. I am just now getting around to fixing this because the door latch has now stopped working (2/13/2011, ~38. 000mi), I am assuming the failure of the door latch is a direct result of the broken interior handle and letting it go without being repaired.

46 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 05/18/2010

Engine hesitates from a stop and bucks and jerks while driving. Hard pick-up. Rpm's up to max without vehicle acceleration. Feels like transmission slips into neutral. First visit, 5/18/2010 (8767 miles-bought new at 15 miles-10/10)/ presently, July, 2011, car with 22,000 is in for 4th return to dealer: 10/2010 car 1 year old, 14,000 miles, local oil repair shop notices both lower ball joints boots split, returned to dealer to resolve. Still hesitating and jerking and bucking, particularly during gear shifts. Second visit, 11/2010 returned for same driving problems. Third visit 6/30/11 service shop notices leak under carriage, returned to dealer. Service manager and I check under carriage, still obvious leak, he told me it wasn't a leak, we both had grease/oil/something on our hands. Refused to extend rental car coverage as car is "completely fixed", left with car, wrote on ticket, "leak still unresolved". Returned for forth visit 7/8/2011 admits leak "somewhere". Also, sealant around windshield melts and becomes tacky in hot weather (texas). Had dealer reseal last summer. Now, area is getting tacky again. Will this occur each summer and will seal hold during hard rain?.

47 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

48 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 02/07/2010

Keys cannot be removed from ignition because of defective shifter mechanism. Button becomes stuck due to poorly manufactured piece and car can shift out of gear and roll away and cause injury. Keys can't be removed, doors can't be locked. $400+ to fix and not covered by warranty, even though a technical service bulletin was issued regarding the part? this should be considered a recall as it is a widespread problem. A quick google search revealed hundreds of other customers with the same problem! have not repaired the problem, because like I said, it is not covered by warranty and I can't afford it. This is dangerous! I just bought this car!.

49 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/10/2009

Since we've owned our 2006 Ford Fusion we have had to replace the door handle for the passenger and both back passenger seats multiple times. Once these handles fail (randomly with no warning) they cannot be operated from the inside. This requires getting someone to open the door from the outside. We fear that in an accident we might become trapped. It's my understanding that I'm not alone with this issue with our 2006 Fusion, but Ford has yet to recall these obviously defective parts.

50 Unknown Or Other problem of the 2007 Ford Fusion
